It's also slyly mentioned early in Evie's dream when her mother says "But when you grow up you could become a three eyed droid or a beast with two backs."

Most people become part of a "beast with two backs" at some point after they grow up. It's an old Shakespearean reference to people having sex (From the play Othello.)
