  • I figured he'd seen enough of Mick - normal size. But Sugar can be hard to read. A friend of mine was with him at a reception in Toronto, and Dan Ackroyd came up to him and said, "It's been a long while, eh, Blue?" And without changing expression, Sugar said, "Yeah. A long time." Laconic, in the extreme.

(As to your other question, I don't know.)

  • Sugar Blue did the harp solos. I once drove him and his band from Thunder Bay to a gig in Winnipeg. And as we came into the heart of the city, I said, "If you guys have never seen an Imax film, there's one running now of the latest Stones tour on a screen forty feet high." The drummer laughed. "Hey, Blue! Imagine that! Mick Jagger forty feet tall!" Blue muttered something I couldn't quite make out - and I knew enough not to ask him to repeat it.

  • @worddoctor1 What did you make out of it? That Sugar didn't want to be reminded of his time with the Stones? I read that Jagger heard him play in a metro in Paris and ask if he wanted to play harp on the Some girls album. Did Sugar also played on Emotional rescue?

  • This song brings back a lot of memories. Thanx for posting.
