  • Lots & lots of Protein.... Yeah you Rock... Great update... Running is great exercise... I don't Run unless someone's chasing me..LOL..I Know I'm late but anyways just do what you feel...I would just start off from where you left off or start the recovery week...It's all on how you feel..

  • You can definitely "make up" the workouts and extend the 90-day period. I'm in my 2nd 90 days right now, and I don't think that there is anything "magical" about the 90 day period, it's just that the program is laid out that way, and it makes it intuitive, easy to adapt to, etc. So, all that being said, great job on the half mary (I'm gearing up for the San Antonio Marathon in November) -- get some speed sessions and hill work in, and you'll soon be back on that PR!! Great job!!

  • Thanks for the advice. The only reason I reticent to extend to P92X is due to wanting to keep on pace with my wife, who "only" did a 8k and took one day off. Being on different days will make "pushing play" much less fun.

  • without recovery you can hinder your muscle gain and weight loss. Think long term...

  • That's very true - sometimes over-training is easier to do than resting. However, I think if I make sure I rest specific muscle groups in consecutive days that I should be good. Yesterday I did arms and shoulders with KenpoX thrown in on top -- by end the Trapezius muscles were definitely worn out. Working those are definitely out for 2 days.

  • Good luck on completing that half marathon, you definitely had a workout that day. Who is the little person on the stairs in your video? LOL...seems curious.

  • I never realized my boy (Brett) sneaking up behind me. Sheesh! I am lucky he didn't put up a sign about his dad or something.

  • definately not 2 or 3. I dont think you want to just skip workouts, especially not from the recovery week. Core synergistics shouldnt be skipped. I would go for your #4 option if you have it in you. If you are going to skip any days though, skip the stretch days. you could be back on track in 2 weeks if you skip the next 2 of those.

  • Thanks for your wisdom. I think I may be doing exactly what you said, doing arms & shoulders today and then doubling up legs&back and KenpoX, and then do YogaX (3x!) next week.

At very least, I won't be doubling up my workouts with runs, and I also don't have 3 of my 4 weekly night activities this week. I should have more energy to do doubles this week.

  • Heh heh heh, you are looking forward to recovery week. Can't wait to see your video after that week is done :-)

  • It's not nice to poke fun of those "who know not what they say" (to paraphrase someone else). :-D Can I at least hope for different type of muscle soreness? A guy can hope can't he?

  • I am in the recovery week and love it!! Though I like Yoga, and Core gave me a different soreness but its a blast!!! LOVE IT!! I do not like Kenpo but ehhhh its not bad...the punches don't get me fired up but I like all the kicking. The recovery week has been fairly easy for me.

  • i am actually missing the weights. :( love them.

  • Yeah, I just realized I only have 2 more arms and shoulder workouts left after I finished today's. It'll be interesting to see what progression I make through week 4-8 when we finally return to this workout.

  • Do one double day that includes the missed back and biceps and go straight into recovery.

    God job!

  • Thanks for the advice. I definitely needed it. I think my plan is to do Shoulders & Arms today, skip tomorrow's scheduled StretchX and attempt to do both Legs&Back and KenpoX. I shouldn't run for at least 3-5 days, so doubling up with a cardio workout should be easier.

That leaves only YogaX missed. Thanks again for voting in the poll.

  • Glad to see you are seeing good results. I too need to purchase heavier weights.

You have 83 days to improve. I don't think you should waste or add a day because you missed two days worth of activities. Doing this may throw off your whole workout. Just continue at the regular schedule you are at, and let bygons be bygons...

  • either skip them like jzcombo says or just repeat the week

  • I think I would repeat the week. I don't recommend doubling up the main workouts...adding cardio yeah but I think doubling up the main workouts for the sake of finishing them is not beneficial to your body. They are meant to be done on seperate days.

  • Thanks for the advice. I still don't know exactly what I am doing, but in the end if I mess something up, there's always round 2 to do it right.

  • true true!! I think I am going to do another round, at least, also!!

  • Thanks for the advice. This is all new to me, and as IndyArmyVet so rightly pointed out, my preconceptions are probably wrong on where it is headed.

  • Be sure to vote - I realized I missed an option "4" -- do doubles to catch up... So please vote #1,2,3,or 4.
