I have exactly the same problem as dannymarx123. overdriven tones lack all clarity, not clear crisp distortion but a muddy indistinct one. first time I got the amp it had a lovely sound, but then went muddy, not nice to play beyond clean at all. I sent it back to the shop (Thomann) then after receiving another, it sounded the same again! This time the amp had been damaged in transit, so back again! Received new amp last week, and.. same muddy dist. even with a pedal thru CH1/gt8 in fx return!
dear bugera, i have the bc-30 and it has great clean tones, but as for the dirty tones,
i find them to sound very fizzy and mushy, i tried geting past this by using distortion/overdrive pedals through channel 1 clean, but still it sounds the same, could you tell me is this normal, and is it possible to get modern smooth lead tones from the amp, also the option of using the other 2 different types of tube rectifiers, would this help, plus would it make that much of a difference??
The differences, of course, are quite subjective. Without hearing your amp it's pretty hard to know. Changing the rectifier tubes will affect character and response. I recommend taking your amp into a shop that sells tubes, and trying out a different pair and seeing if you like the change. It's worth the trip and research to get the amp sounding exactly how you like it! Thanks for choosing BUGERA!
@dannymarx123 I hated most of my marshall type amps until I started using a boss eq pedal w/a frown curve and an xotic ep booster. Hope it helps because I regret most amps I've ever sold now.
@NHBluesMan Hey! The BC30-212 is popular with pedal enthusiasts due to its ability to get super-clean tones. This serves as a sort of "blank canvas" for your pedal tones to really, really shine. As a matter of fact, I would recommend the BC30-212 above any other amp in our line for solid cleans. Cheers!
I WANT TO HEAR THE MAGICIAN xD

Instead of moving the cable from input 1 to input 2
couldnt ya just use an A / B selector like the EHX Switchblade to
Switch between the channels ?
