He is absolutely right about how the energy of the maker affects the energy of the drum.
My ritual has been to keep new drum creations in my bed so it can share my dream-state with me. If I share my dreams with the drum, the drum will share its dreams with me.
@reoification We all came from the earth, we are all part of the earth, and we all return to the earth, whether we're white or not. Our european ancestors forgot that a long time ago, long before they came to this country, but so have many native americans in these modern days. Anyone who is trying to live their life in the old ways, living to honour the earth rather than ignoring it, means we are one small step closer to making everything connected and beautiful and safe again.
same here man i make drums from the cutting of the wood to making the frames and hides its alot of work. the gift that was given to the drum makers will have no meaning if people keep putting stuff like this on the tube. if anyone wants drums made by hand please give a shout ill get back to you as soon asp. just drop a line in my inbox.
Who's up for creating a drum-builders 'union' or 'guild' as it were? Seeing these kinds of videos are an obvious testimony to the nescessity of one now more than ever...We have to unite and get organized or else we will lose the drum just like we lost the dreamcatcher...everyone out there reading this...buy locally! Don't let the drum become another shoddy Chinese knock-off...everyone will lose that way!
there nonetheless should be some sort of guidance there...you know...a spiritual helper present otherwise... spiritually talking...its the difference between real bullets and blanks...both make a noise but only one gets the job done.
For example: We already lost our dreamcatchers to China, didn't we?!
Wholeheartedly behind that statement. The story that creates the drum, or the dreamcatcher.... real spirit. You don't know what you 're buying when you buy a cheap copy of anything ( be it a drum or a dreamcatcher or whatever). I would not have anything in my life that was made in a sweatshop that paid someone 50c per day to produce, end of story. It feeds the greed and it starves our lives of respect for ourselves.
The "west's" need for "cheap" and "now" has created a market of cheap imports that is destroying our world.
For instance you being able to buy your cheap rice from thailand means less for the thai.
China and Japan had a beautiful trade going with the west for many years exporting stunningly made goods. Until they realized that we in the west would buy any cheap crap.
As for drums, if you can make your own (even a "Noc Bay kit") thats good, or maybe go without something else and buy a good one.
I am a traditional drummaker...it's how I feed my family...trading them and doing the odd workshop...It may be of no consequence but nonetheless, I have mixed feelings about this info being on youtube. While I DO think that most people (not EVERYONE) should have the opportunity to make them....
David is right I am also traditional drummaker. No respect the person or persons know you are not to be putting these kinds of things on the net wow! you might as well sell you spirit to the whole world as well give everyone your SSI number or even tell them where you live you might as well
