  • You sound like Chris Martin. Totally.

  • COT OFF!

  • Cool video : ) Reason is really a great program, i like it. Lots of nice plugins and its good that you can use it with other programs , like cubase etc. If you want to listen to some really good electronic music you can check my channel and have a listen if you feel like it : )

  • Very nice and clever tuto. Thanks for sharing.

  • link fuck

  • great tutorial

  • thank you so much, for a beginner this is way easier to understand than a lot of videos on youtube that assume you know everything.

  • A slightleh mooody mex

  • this help me understand EQ alot more than i did, i will now try to make my beats less muddy.... thanks for the tut!

  • "We can booost those frequencies, or we can COT them..."

    "A very unseful FONCTION..."

You sir, have a seriously FONKY accent ;D

  • @antilect its called british

  • @antilect hes sounds like he from the midlands

  • now how is it that he sounds british but he spells it equalize instead of equalise...?

  • Holy shiiiit dude >:D

  • So this is what Chris Martin has been doing out of Coldplay...

  • Was That A factory piano you used inside of reason? the one inside of mine sounds cruddy to begin with. how did you make it sound like a real one?

  • plzzzzzzzzz hellllllllp i dont understand the concept very good : ( eq)

for exemple when i have - Low : 100 Hz ( i have to move the low shelf freq. to 100 ? cause when i do this i dont hear any difference !!!!!!!! ) plz need a respond

  • @mehdiand1job the reason your not hearing a difference is probably because your speakers frequency response doesn't go below 100 hz or so. you'll need a sub to hear those low frequencies.

  • Dude this was Really good and Helpfull. Thanks

  • Really good tutorial, thanks so much for this video.

  • at last somebody who makes sense

  • thanks. now my mastering will be that much better! :)

  • thank you,

this was a great tutorial. i have a question. when you increased the high end on the piano to brighten it up, it looked like the frequency curve moved towards occupying the vocal range again. is that what happeded?

  • i am starting in all this equalization thing, but i have no idea of what terms i need to have knowledge of, please, can somebody point me to a link in which i might find explanations and information for beginners like me so i can start from somewhere (lets say that i know nothing about it), THANKS A LOT anything would be of such a great importance to me.

  • Finally, I get it ! Thanks! Eq is the one thing that I have been afraid of tackling. I would just go with the presets and hope for the best

  • You are a great teacher! I know a lot more about EQ Basics now

  • Its nice to know that I have a good ear. I didn't go to school for this but my eq is set similar. I have a 30 band eq for my car.

  • nice video, are you from around Nottingham?

  • Capeau has reason =) isn´t a good tutorial.

  • GREAT vid! Thanks for breaking down so much, send more

  • Whats the program called?

  • very nice

  • where can i find a free download??

  • lol, by turning up the high frequencies you neutralised your negatige gain on the high mids...

not such a good tutorial ;)

  • faved

  • Reason 4 is so epic, it shames Reason 3 and makes it look ancient.

Upgrade 3 if you have it, its certainly worth it.

  • dude that was so good... thanks heaps!

  • The best video on the web.

  • very helpful for people who kno nothing when it comes to mixing..thanks for tutorial

  • very well explained

    great tutorial mad respect

  • One thing, you said that in the window that gives you visual representation of the equalizer curve the number to the left of the horizontal bar is 20hz mine says 39 hz should I just ignore that and remember that position as 20hz?

  • The range of normal human hearing is from around 20Hz to 20kHz. Your 39Hz is just about 1 octave higher is all. It just doesn't show that 1 lower octave. :)

  • very helpful man. thanks

  • The difference between high and low shelf eq's isn't what frequency they're at, you could have a high shelf down in the bass region, it would still be a high shelf.

  • it's 40 to 40k hz not 20 to 20k

  • actually I lied woops 20 to 20khz sorry

  • yeh, "you lied" >.>

  • thank you brother.

  • excellent! thank you

  • excellent tutorial, i learnt a lot from that1 cheers :-)
