  • I know undertaker was thinking oh no you don't mister

  • 8:54 - Taker is like "Nope! Nope! Sorry Jake but you have been denied your chairshot."

  • im sorry but jake deserved it u don't go slapping girls like that!!! im so glad macho man pushed elizabeth out of the way before jake almost hit her with the chair. Good thing undertaker was there. where did he come from though? lol he appeared out of no where.

  • Great match except for the blabbering Vince McMahon. He needs to take it down about a million notches.

  • This was the best match Randy Savage competed in. RIP Savage. This is for you. "Oh, Yeah"

  • Jake should try out for some screamo band

  • I like it when Undertaker becomes a good guy here.

  • "First of all, my wife should be folding towels and raking the yard". God I miss Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's commentary, classic heel.

RIP Macho Man. I'll never forget you.

  • Taker's face turn.

  • RIP macho man

  • RIP Randy you will be Missed.

  • RIP! Macho Man. One of the reasons I started watching wrestling.

    MACHO FOREVER!

  • @WeisserWolf8SS I bet you anyone who appreciates wrestling in some capacity is watching Macho Man videos all over YT, right now!

  • @SuperGamer7 yes we are!

  • @sanussi416 Actually I heard that Jake's was supposed to win the IC belt from the Honkey Tonk Man in a rematch from Wrestlemania 3, but had take time off from his injury he got from getting hit with the chair that got worse after Wrestlemaina. Then I guess he became someone who would groom up and coming heels from stuff I heard.

  • They should have had Roberts win this feud. Savage is and was a smelly asswipe.

  • @unclebobpart2 He was no doubt, but he was fucking your mom, so it's to be expected.

  • 8:54 .... the very moment The Undertaker turns face, and becomes the fan favorite for generations.

  • Their matches and feud were fantastic.

  • This was the last match of the the night

  • This is the only good thing that I've ever seen the undertaker do

  • @sanussi416 i agree however he was supposed to take the title off of HTM in 1987 (IC) but he was hurt. and then when he was back HTM was so over they kept it on him. he was really great. ahead of his time.

  • DDT! dick down THROAT!

  • I did not see this coming! I was about 14 when this happened. I long for that unexpected moment in wrestling these days which shocks you.

  • Miss Elizabeth = Princess Toadstool

    Jake the Snake = Bowser

    Hahaha

  • One of the best things WWF ever did.... turn Undertaker into a face.

  • At the time, Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan were the commentators.

  • the wwe keeping this match off of the BEST OF SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT DVD is a crime! they put hulk hogan vs sid but not this! come on, man!

  • One of the things I always liked about Jake and Savage was their psychology. Someone slaps your wife, your not going to spit your water or bother with a fancy entrance with pyrotechnics,,,,your going to attempt to rip their head off. Sure that's simple logic, isn't it amazing how illogical the "WWE Universe" is these days....bunch of sheep monkeys!

  • The snake sounded like a dying raptor at the end.

  • Is Jake the Snake still living?

  • @Major2219 Yes he is still alive, and hopefully he will be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame before he dies.

  • 3:37 jake roberts best ddt. no delay just fast

  • I wonder what it'd be like if right when elizabeth ran in around 7:14 Jake came back and DDT'd her.

  • @jaymorpheus1 Dude, I was seriously expecting that (and partly hoping) would happen! lol

  • Who expected Undertaker turns face, especially when the earlier tonight, Undertaker/Ric Flair Vs Hulk Hogan/Sid Justice, Sid Justice completing heel turn by walking out the match, Undertaker attacks Hogan with Ric Flair but turns face later.

  • whos knocking on wood when jake rams savages head into ringpost it sounds like a hollow tree

  • can anyone get a better quality of this match

  • @2:55 I wonder if that was an accident because Macho Mans head hit that post for real.

  • This was a feud that could and should have gone longer than it did. It started at Summer Slam 1991 ( August ) and ended in January of 1992. With all the hype they put into this, it should have gone longer or at least until Wrestlemania 8 when Roberts left.

  • @jckoby this led up to Undertaker face turn and facing Jake at Mania 8 which I was there for and it was awesome.

  • @silverzhawk I remember when the Undertaker turning face back than.

  • Back in those days I wanted that rivalry between Savage and Snake to lead up to WrestleMania VIII,but instead Savage got a match with Flair for the title and Snake got his ass kicked by the upstart UnderTaker

  • @jcp1977 Yeah i was there and saw both those matches live. Good times.

  • I was in shock when I saw this back in the day. I didn't think Taker would go face, and then this happened. THIS is how a storyline suppose to be, not have 2 dudes wrestle 3 ppv's in a row for some world title.

  • One of the best face turns ever!

  • Macho Man is the Greatest ever ...He should come back to the wwe just one last time

  • jake the snake was the person who made up the move DDT

  • @Dallasfan your a idiot dude....honky tonk man held the I-c title for over a year in WWF, you gonna say he was better than jake roberts?. also DIbiase, Rick Rude, Mr Perfect never had runs with the World Title. (dibiase bought the title, but does that count, i dont think so) .....jake roberts gave the best interviews of most superstars during his era and had a great ring presence so dallasfan shut up douchenozzle!

  • Jake could never compare to Savage. Savage was a world champ in wwf and wcw, and ic champ. What did Jake ever do?

  • Two guys who should be in the Hall of Fame...as in right now!

  • Aww man I soooo remember this!!!! This was the beginning of Undertakers face turn!

  • now thats real wrestling...it had everything, unique characters, drama and storytelling. those were the good years of the sport. once the new breed of stone colds, rock, cena's took over it was trash, now its worse with carlito (razor ramon rip off) and ted diabase's son( trying to cash in on a former name) and others are watering down the talent pool and business.

  • THE BEST DDT EVER!!!!! 3:37

  • The day that Undertaker had his first babyface turn

  • This is simply a great match. Savage was in full righteous mode and Jake was selling his punishment to the hilt, though still as evil as ever. Fast and furious right to the end. And the ending is as pure high grade cheese as it gets! Classic!

  • Jake sold the hell out that match and the chair shot! Great worker in his day!

  • Man I woulda loved to have seen Jake ko Liz with that steel chair!

  • You just knew Jake was a badass when a heel goes after another heel. Jake is more eviler than Skeletor!

  • instead of offering jake a job on the writing crew he should of just given jake some better dope maybe he would of stayed and jobbed tgo guys like bastion booger!

  • the moment the man from the darkside became bright in the fans of the wwf..also interesting note here, this snme logo i believe was only used for the last 3 syndicated specials this one, the one that aired just before summerslam 1992 where savage and the warrior teamed up agaisnt the nasty boys and perfect and flair came out to attack them, and the final ep in november where shawn michaels won the ic belt from davey boy smith...

  • could somebody told me what happen after wrestlemania 8. why did jake the snake disappear from the wwf? I remember him wrestle even in mexico!

  • @welcometosd Pat Patterson resigned as part of the writing crew, and Jake wanted to be on it. When Vince said no, Jake told him that he would no-show the event unless he was granted his release immediately afterward. Plus Jakes father, Grizzly Smith was hired by WCW in some sort of backstage role around the same time so he followed his dad to WCW

  • Comment removed

  • Jake threatened to no-show the 'Taker match at WM VIII, because Vince wouldn't allow him to do writing. After Jake jobbed to 'Taker, he quit. That was a mistake on Vince's part to not fulfill his promise to Jake. Had Jake been writing, we might never have had to deal with Doink the Clown, Men on a Mission, Adam Bomb, etc. Who knows what sort of serious, scary heels may have been invented, instead?!?

  • @sanussi416 Jake wanted out of his WWE contract to go to WCW which is why threatened no-show at Mania 8. Vince granted his request providing he do the match.

  • Dunno that's when it started to get really boring, around then there was no more Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan (the man I loved to hate). What was the point in wrestling after this?

  • I would say it got boring until "attitude." It was the "doink the clown, adam bomb, quebecers era," and this was also the time when 'Taker ended up with Jake's old role after he turned face. This meant that he spent five years battling and scaring guys that were 7'7," or 600 pounds, or both, and had no in-ring ability.

  • hey its hard to have in ring abilty when your as tall as gonzalez or as heavy as yokozuna

  • was an awesome feud between these 2 superstars

  • OH YEAH!!

  • jake is fucking crazy

  • 2:37 you actually hear his head hit the post, and no surprise, it sounds like wood

  • is this power rangers or something? such camp use of color

  • macho man should come back to the wwe and kick ass !!!!!!!!

  • To anyone who asks why Jake never held a title, I say this: He was so great that he didn't need a title to be elevated.

  • he just needed crack

  • Damn! That actually makes sense... but while I understand your point, Jake is an uncrowned WWF Champion, IMHO.

  • @sanussi416

I agree, very few wrestlers could pull that off. Jake was one of them.

  • @sanussi416 jake the snake was what bret hart was to pure technical wrestling, pure psychology. maybe it had to do with the fact that vince mcmahon didn't trust roberts, because vince "couldn't tell the difference between the wrestler and the man." it could have been a number of things, such as his drinking problems, who knows. it's obvious mcmahon didn't trust roberts with any title.

  • @Riv3r69

Were is Jake the Snakes Skill your talking about in this

Match ? You cant compare him to Bret Hart

All he does his Throwing Macho Man against the Ring Sides

Yokozuna and Diesel could do that to it takes no skill

The Only ones that can be compared to Bret Hart are Owen Hart

    and Shawn Michaels

  • @sanussi416 true!

  • @sanussi416

He was 'elevated' enough with the shit he put up his nostrils...

  • the "MADNESS"-of macho man!!!!!

  • This was the fight of fights

  • one of the greatest feud ever jake the snake vs macho man

  • @19dida83 I have to disagree. It was a great start to the feud, but the payoff ended up being really weak. I mean it starts with Jake letting a cobra bite Savage and then Jake smacks Elizabeth (something nobody ever thought they'd see) and all we end up getting is a couple of singles matches out of it? Not even a cage match or a street fight?

  • @19dida83 Macho was put into the feud to replace the ultimate worrier

  • @brianjmal anyway their feuds was amazing

  • @19dida83 yes!

  • Google ICW Poffo Universe It will bring you to the ICW Poffo website I've compiled to chronicle The Poffo's independent wrestling promotion which ran in the mid south from 1979- 1985 . Tons of ads for house shows ( over 700 on the site) . Pictures of the Macho Man from high school; match listings for early Lanny and Randy bouts from Phil Goldens All Star Wrestling from 1973.Pictures of Randy's great wardrobe This is the most comprehensive site dedicated to the Poffo's ... so enjoy !!!

  • These were great matches. What I also miss about WWF was that you could get away with over the top. In other organizations, it's illegal to do over the top, which is bullshit. Savage and Roberts had the best feud of the early 90s.

  • I remember this fondly. Jake the Snake squealing like a pig after Savage nailed him with a chair. This was awesome!

  • The only way to get into a match is great characters, showing all that intensity through an even greater storyline. Randy and Jake were 2 of the very best, this feud was a classic!

  • No one cut a promo like "Jake the Snake." What a talent. He was actually a huge influence on Austin and 'Taker. 'Taker spotlights this on the "This is My Yard" DVD. It's a real shame that Jake threw it all away with drugs and booze. That being said, we need to realize that the wrestling business is about the most rigid, unforgiving entity on earth.

  • VINCE:WHAT A SONOFABITCH

  • That short clothes line by Roberts was deadly. I can't recall any other wrestler since with that short clothes line. That was the setup for the DDT.

  • Swanton bomb*

  • Vince was really mad at 9:16.

And then Bobby said," Hey watch it!" That really made me feel sorry for Jake.

  • this is when wrestling was great and I knew sometime it wasn't going to last forever, todays WWE sucks and I prefer TNA and ROH, CZW

  • You're right. They were known for telling a story without a billion fancy moves and look at that crowd- on their feet for the whole thing. You won't find that today. How could they with fans like you.

  • Are you serious?

  • that was awesome

  • i rember this

  • Watching this match, and the Tuesday in Texas match between these two, I realize that both those matches were actually pretty short. But damned if they weren't intense! Sometimes that's all you need :D Great match!

  • Great match and the beginning of another great fued

  • "He's gonna nail Elizabeth...He's gonna nail her!" Bobby Heenan was GREAT on the mic LOL

  • one guy had a problem smoking crack, the other had a problem sniffing cocaine....pick your poison.

  • shame theres never had a no DQ match!"

  • awesome ddt

  • Google ICW Poffo Universe

  • The end of one rivalry... the beginning of another one..... the start of the phenom's reign!!!

  • Man, imagine if the Hell in a Cell match had existed back then...

  • jake the snake was afraid of the macho man big time

  • Undertaker has done a good deed.

  • this is when undertaker turns face.

  • 1987-1992 the glory days of the WWF/E.

  • 2:56 best cornerpost headsmash

  • the early 90´s -the glory wwf days-good gimmicks-good against evil-nice storylines and so on,miss it-today its crap-sad but true

  • There's one of this Wrestlemanias when he said "The Undertaker will bury himself"

  • it would be good to see macho man return to wwe to show up some of these so called westlers

  • top ending!

  • Yes! Undertaker's Face Turn!

  • this match was fucking amazing...at least up untill macho man's missus had to come running in, then i remembered i was watching the wwf and something lame had to happen.

simple plot, well executed plus that crowd sounded 10x madder than the current ones, bet randy savage was buzzin when he was on that top rope.

anyone recommend any other decent matches from this era? would be uch appreciated

  • Mr Perfect v Bret Hart - Summerslam 91, and again at King of the Ring 93.

Randy Savage v Ricky Steamboat Wrestlemania III (one of the best matches I ever remember watching)

    Bret v Owen WM10

Razor Ramon V Shawn Michaels WM10

I could list a lot more, but would either go to far out of this era, or start including a few WCW and NWA matches (like the NWA match: Ric Flair V Ricky Steamboat - Wrestle War 89)

  • trust me

  • these were the good ole days didnt jake have a thing for elizabeth tryin to remember this story line and wasnt the cobra dvenomized when it bite mach man.

  • 2 future wwe hall of famers . They both paid there dues in the business .

  • Why this match isn't in the 'Best of Saturday Nights main Event' DVD set is beyond me! It will surely be included on "Macho Mans' 3-disc set this coming June-OOHH YEAHHH!

  • I remember this. Brutal fued. Rare to hear swearing. Best face turn ever on Undertaker!

  • this is the first time undertaker ever turned heel

  • First time he ever turned face....

  • Undertaker to the rescue!

  • I think the Undertaker was about had enough of Jake Roberts' treatment of Elizabeth and did the right thing by taking the chair away fron him. That was the first time that I noticed that beneath the soulless facade lies a warrior with heart and a man with potential at that time. If he hadn't made this move,he wouldn't be the legend that he is today.Go.'Taker!

  • jakes ddt is so damn fast and quick its rediculous

  • its got to be quick. He needs to finish the match to get that next drink!

  • OHHHHH YEAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what the date was this

  • Aired 2/8/92, taped 1/27/92

  • Anywayz, its still long long ago.

  • Jake the snake Roberts. One of the greatest of all time. He was one of the greatest at portraying his character. Pure genius.

  • i had totally forgotten about this feud until I saw the match where Jake slapped Elizabeth about a month or so ago...Jake was ridiculously over as a heel and this feud was about pure hatred....Savage had great feuds

  • it would be nice if WWF would release all these damn Saturday Night's Main Event's on DVD....alot better than some of the crap he releases on DVD lolz

  • Damn Straight! You just said it all!

  • bobby the brain is so fucking funny 30 foot python..........fuck hes mad genuis!

  • For all the talent in the ring for this one I still can't get past Randy looking like the gayest cowboy ever. Sorry but he had jumped the shark with those outfits. (Even though the best matches of his career were in that same timeframe.)

  • I used to have that entire saturdays main event on tape. On that same card was Piper defending the i-c belt against mountie and flair and Taker fought hogan and justice who left hogan in the ring. Classic. Damn i miss those days. I was about 10yrs...lol

  • did you hear mcmahon at 09:15? holy shit!!!

  • shame theres never had a NO DQ match!

  • LOL..best part is the sounds Jake was making after Macho hit him with the chair in the back..9:22 - 9:32..hill-hairy-less..

  • jake is the best

  • Match was good but it could have lasted longer and it wasnt as good as there first match in Texas.

  • great match

  • jake lay down for macho for a new feud n a wresltemania moment w/ thy undertaker

  • did Jake ever beat Macho man in this feud? im not sure i dont think he did but i maybe wrong!

  • nope he didnt

  • oh right, jake was a brillant heel!

  • Savage is my fav wrestler ever but it was always funny whenever he went after a weapon, he always chose the ring bell and he never got to use it.

  • OMG LMAO you are absolutely right! The right bell was his favorite weapon but I do remember him using it once or twice.

  • shut the fuck up lerk off

  • its true

  • Jake Roberts and Robert Roode are both wifebeaters.

  • Jake the Snake was so heel evil he was like a Stefano DiMera of the WWF at that time and Macho Man was a John Black and Miss Elizabeth was a Marlena Evans.

  • Nice analogy. Most folks won't know that Stefano, John, and Marlena are from Days of our Lives. And Sensational Sherri would have been Kristin Blake, when John was with her. THis was a great feud.

  • hey ma n i want to se ethe undertaker funeral parlour where he talks about kamala in snme 1992

  • Bobby Hennan: "First of all my wife should be home folding towels and raking the yard."

    Lol classic Hennan

  • wat the fuck a wiz 13 when this shit was gonna down\ha

  • Randy Savage is very much alive thank God. So many have parted though. Too many steroids bringing on heart attacks

  • Yeah I agree with you. I'm happy to see him alive and well. He doesn't look the same...but as long as he's living thats all that matters.

  • I don't think that he'll Macho Man will ever be forgotten. TNA has Black Machismo. I don't know, I don't think that I can really watch wrestling again as I did in the late 80s through the mid 90s. I was just watching the WWF movie Body Slam, and the old Saturday morning cartoon Super Mario Bros with Captain Lou Albano. Man it took me back to many great memories.

  • "I hate wrestling cos it's fake". So are soaps, movies etc- they're still entertaining. Wrestling was fantastic in its WWF era. And not so fake- there is a difference between 'fake' and 'scripted'- enough injuries were suffered by the wrestlers. Great fun- loved it during my childhood and early teens.

  • Lulz. I know what you mean. I hate that expression too "I hate wrestling because it's fake." The people that say that also love their tv shows, and movies which are also fiction. Wrestling in the 80s up to 1996 was fucking great. Sorry to make anyone upset, but the Attitude era pretty much killed wrestling for me.
