most race horse owners would have put him down right there on the track these ppl were trying so hard to save him but his leg still wasnt fixed and his other legs got laminitis. so he was always in pain. I LUV BARBARO:)

Athletes get injured all the time, IN EVERY SPORT. People hurt their wrist playing ping-pong. o_o; Injury is a risk all athletes take when they perform at such a high level. But really, what you're saying makes NO SENSE. At all. Why would they purposely numb their horses legs? Don't you think that would, oh I don't know... HINDER THEM WHILE RUNNING?! Owners want their horse to WIN. Horses collapse more now a days because of bad bloodstock, they need to introduce new blood to remedy that.

Now! there ARE people who abuse the sport, they sometimes overdue the horse training, and the jockey might be dumb and try to force a horse to do what it wants. But racing horses don't kill, they do it in the wild too, except they are running away from danger. But there are some bad people out there.
WRONG they only run because they are being whiped to.. at that finish line some break thier ankles because of how hard they were running and race horses stay in a stall for 22 days and u think that racing them till they collaps is freedom? Wrong! thats torture how would u like it if someone locked you in a dark box and then took you out and whisped you to run? Answer that

I think you only see things what support your claims. If a human breaks his or her ankle while sprinting, does that make sprinting a blood sport that kills ALL humans who participate?? Because thats basically what you're saying about horse racing. btw, race horses are worked out regularly, to keep them in shape for the races. In any case, the sport isn't what kills those unlucky ones, its their management.
Ruffian and Secretariat are my favorite race horses. Barbaro and Eight Belles have a special place in my heart since they were the first horses, I've seen, to break down on the track.
one of Man O' War's great-great-grandfillies is at my riding stable. She has a club foot so she was never raced, but she inherited his nasty temper and loves to gallop around when she's feeling up to it. She used to be an excellent jumper but that was before she had a tumor on one of the tendons in her hock and the owners don't want to damage the scar tissue by jumping her. So now she's reduced to crossbars :(

Horse racing is a sadistic "sport" for horses and Jocks. Most thoroughbreds, even champs, end up on dinner tables after being SKINNED ALIVE. How could anyone support that kind of thing? All Jocks have forced eating disorders, and if they don't end up in a racing accident,they get sick from "flipping" or starving.

You call a horse 'Eclipse,' but the horse you're referring to is Lost in the Fog. He was euthanized on September 17th, 2006. The first picture you show is indeed him, but the second is not. He was an 'Eclipse Award-Winning Sprinter.' Google Lost in the Fog or go to Finalturngallery(dot)com, there are lots of pictures of him.

I went to kentucky horse park and saw man O war's grave and it was a amazing's. He is the mane reason i luv horse racing so much i even read his biography by walter farley. i also saw cigar while i was there. And i hope that rags to riches doesn't get hurt like ruffian because they are both amazing filly's. I also saw one of the horses that played seabiscut in the movie seabiscut
And might I mention that I met four of the most famous Thoroughbreds in the world, while down there? Cigar, Da Hoss, John Henry, and Gypsy Supreme. They wouldn't actually bring out John Henry, because he's extremely bad tempered, but I got to see the others. It was amazing.
I miss Barbaro. I followed his training all the way up to the tragic Preakness. I have a really good picture of him during the Derby, and he has no legs on the ground, he's running so fast. He's literally flying. It's amazing.

The Breeders is one race. Ruffian, Man O' War, and Secretariat won a lot through shear will power and dominance. Mariah's Storm is an inspiring horse, but she was still not in the came class as the others.

My foal, born on 7/11/07 is out of Industry Standard who was Spectacular Bid's son. Industry Standard was put down on 7/25/07. He had cancer and his last foal will be to a thoroughbred mare I trained. She is due next spring!! Thanx for adding Spectacular Bid!!

You call a horse 'Eclipse,' but the horse you're referring to is Lost in the Fog. He was euthanized on September 17th, 2006. The first picture you show is indeed him, but the second is not. He was an 'Eclipse Award-Winning Sprinter.' Google Lost in the Fog or go to Finalturngallery(dot)com, there are lots of pictures of him.

u might think kencsems better but i think ruffian is much much much better!!!!! a lot more people know of ruffian then they do of kincsem i dont even kno of kincsem i had to look her up!!! ruffian would of won more but she broke down its not her fault she broke down!!!!!!!!!

I went to kentucky horse park and saw man O war's grave and it was a amazing's. He is the mane reason i luv horse racing so much i even read his biography by walter farley. i also saw cigar while i was there. And i hope that rags to riches doesn't get hurt like ruffian because they are both amazing filly's. I also saw one of the horses that played seabiscut in the movie seabiscut

And might I mention that I met four of the most famous Thoroughbreds in the world, while down there? Cigar, Da Hoss, John Henry, and Gypsy Supreme. They wouldn't actually bring out John Henry, because he's extremely bad tempered, but I got to see the others. It was amazing.

I miss Barbaro. I followed his training all the way up to the tragic Preakness. I have a really good picture of him during the Derby, and he has no legs on the ground, he's running so fast. He's literally flying. It's amazing.

whats even better than seeing racehorses in pictures... riding racehorses!!! my friend breeds racehorses and races them in local races but im 2 tall 2 be the jockey but i could have been if i was only 6 inches shorter!! grr!! this wuz a good vid by the way... i <3 horses!!

The Breeders is one race. Ruffian, Man O' War, and Secretariat won a lot through shear will power and dominance. Mariah's Storm is an inspiring horse, but she was still not in the came class as the others.
