i never knew that deanna is capable of driving the enterprise o.O
why didn´t she do this right from the start.. it would have saved us a lot of wesley-moments...and we had more of them deanna moments..when she rubs the console and replys the captains orders with her sexy voice o.O
I also really feel for dubbing voice actors. They have to do an incredible job considering they're just sitting in front of a microphone watching a screen, but it'll never be as good as the original film.
So I don't see the point in dubs. If you don't know English, don't watch films recorded in English without subtitles! Or just learn English! I don't watch dubbed Anime, because it looks and sounds stupid, and I'm content with reading subtitles, rather than trying to learn Japanese.
While it's funny that this video is in German, why should anyone expect that in 250 years, people would be speaking the exact same version of the English language that we are today, or even that we're even speaking English whatsoever?
While no-one's ever going to know for sure, I reckon Firefly did it best, incorporating Mandarin Chinese in with English, cause it seems that's the way the language may be going, in a couple of centuries anyway!
Wow, I just realized, the scene where the warbird gets destroyed was taken directly out of undiscovered county. Really? You put out a motion picture and you rip off a previous movie, really?
They should have done this scene with the Duras sisters using a stolen Romulan warbird or klingon Attack cruiser. The Enterprise had so much more fire power then that old klingon Bird of Prey that it would have made more sense using something bigger then it.
Meh, I liked this movie, overall. It's funny, the German dubbing makes it sound like 1 person is just doing differen't voices. To their credit (admittedly a flimsy defense), they didn't know how they penetrated the shields, only that they had (they never said "they found our shield frequency" though they could have tried it. But yeah, even so, they wouldn't even need to re-modulate, just alpha-strike the BOP and see your troubles go up in smoke.
the destruction sequence for the bird of brey is the exact same as chang's ship in undiscovered country... check it out, im just throwing it out there...
Anyone else notice that some of those scenes around 2:32 to 2:40 are re-used in DS9 season 7, think in the final battle, possibly amongst other stuff?
Riker has no idea what he's doing. In Rascals 2 Br'el class ships easily took control of the Enterprise, because all he did was ask for damage reports. Now here, he's messing with triggering a plasma coil? What is so hard or complicated about "Mr. Worf, fire all weapons". 1701-D really deserved better than to go down like this on the big screen....
Jeez, how weak are photon torpedoes, the opening shots from the Klingon Bird of landed right near engineering, it should have destroyed the whole ship. Back in TOS, if shields go down, game is basically over. It's because the weapons were powerful enough to annihilate a ship without shields. 1 photon torpedo or a good phaser hit was all it would take. Now the Enterprise can get pummeled for over 2 minutes without shields. Hmm, maybe it's because the script required it.
Coincidence considering Frakes character is in command when the Enterprise-D is destroyed, and then he's the director for ST:FC and introduces the new Sovereign class Enterprise-E. It's the Frakes conspiracy.
Scenes like this make you wonder if all that fancy technology has made TNG era starfleet lazy. Really, one of the most powerful ships in the fleet taken out by one crappy BoP?
Well yeah it was a shitty scene for a shitty movie. Even without shields, a single Bird of Prey has little chance of destroying a Galaxy class starship. And what's with the whole elaborate "Oh no we need to disable their plasma coil and make them cloak so their shields drop so we can destroy them" bullshit? What happened to firing and just firing till they explode? A BoP can't survive sustained fire from the Enterprise, we've seen that for ourselves before.
are you all retarded? They were rotating the shield frequencies, but it was done by Geordie, and the klingons saw what he was looking at, which is rotating the shield frequencies. They just changed weapon frequencies again.
Go back and not only watch but LISTEN to this entire scene. You WON'T hear anyone say, 'rotate shield frequencies!' Not only that...IF they did, the Klingon torpedoes & phasers wouldn't have gotten through their bloody shields, so easily.
For 7 years we heard about "rotating the shield frequencies" and when I saw this in the theater I yelled out loud, "rotate the shield frequencies!" LOL
@fmscribs They only rotate the shields when they fight the Bord. When it's a Bird of Prey, they crash land on an M planet. This is Star Trek. An IGNORANT FLEET.
@Gelendelith1 It doesn't really matter how they're doing it. The point is the Enterprise has enough forward facing firepower to turn that Bird of Prey into dust. The writers were just trying to force and contrive a thing so they could come up with a new design for the next movie. It makes no sense how this fight progresses.

@2008FORDF450V8 were warp core ejectors invented in star trek storylines at this stage??? Thought myself klingon torpedos would do more damage... but also... why didnt the enterprise fire about 20 photons????
@traineespark yes they had ejection systems.he breach was almost always irreversible, as most safety protocols and systems would have failed prior to the event. Warp core ejection was a common method of dealing with a breach, although this was considered a last ditch effort and often failed aboard
@2008FORDF450V8 oh i know... even in the new star trek movie theres ejectors... but for the enterprise d storyline they mite not have existed only until they thought about voyager enterprise E etc
This scene is ridiculous in so many ways. A BoP shouldn't last 5 seconds against a Galaxy class, whether its shields are up of not. Pretty disruptor torpedoes, though.
Klingons with tits...now that's what I'm talking about. It was probably a good thing Captian Kirk wasn't attacked by them, he would want to fuck all of them. LOL
I saw the Klingon Bird of Prey in it's Movie debut on Opening day in 1984.It's like a WW2 Submarine.. Bird of Prey should have been Larger with an Aft Torpedo Tube. It should have also had a Larger Crew Complement,at least 75 to 100 Crew.
I like this movie alot better in German for some reason....the stolen footage from ST6 however for a dying warbird was an insult to everyone, the budget covered 2 casts but couldnt blow up a new model? BS
I have always hated this seen simply because they could have changed the shield frequency or just opened up with phasers and photon torpedos. That is a Galaxy class starship and she's loaded with weapons. One foley of up to 10 photon torpedos and some phaser fire would have destroyed that out of date Br'el class Bird of prey.
The destruction of the Bird of Prey is clearly a reused piece from Star Trek VI . How cheap can you go?
Love the German voice over. Ha! Ha! Very dramatic.
If you look at the video posted here where the enterprise is up against the husnock vessel, it's clear it can fire multiple torpedoes and phasers at once
@Jim4575 I said the same thing in another Generations vid, all they had to do was the ol' "rotate shield frequencies" and one volley of torps should've at least crippled that BoP, but since shields are critical in Trek to defense, bypassing them gave the BoP a huge advantage and maybe the Enterprise's weapons and shield controls were messed up, plus the fact the BoPs are small but powerful and this old one could have modern tech; remember three BoPs almost destroyed the Ent in one TNG episode
@Jim4575 How cheap can you get??? According to the Memory Alpha article on the movie, they only paid for Stewart and Spiner to have new custom made "DS9 style uniforms". All the others were borrowed. Frakes is wearing Avery Brooks' and LeVar is wearing Colm Meaney's.
@GreekRoyalty I can't for the life of me remember his name but that male doctor in Star Trek Voyager? I would've liked to see Troi wear his uniform and keep her hair the way it was during the last season of TNG... without the bangs.
My personal opinion but Data, Picard, Geordi, and Riker didn't look too bad with the DS9/Voyager uniforms.
If Hitler had won the war...

And, they didn't rotate their shield frequencies, why?! You'd think that would be SOP following the Borg attack.....

Actually the explosion of the bird of pray is from STAR TREK VI

Somehow, Klingon and German go perfectly together! LMAO

The Klingon Bird of Prey, has been such a thorn in the side of ships named Enterprise.

I tell you what, pretty sloppy having a Bird of Prey with a defective "Plasma Spoon" :-)

Maybe instead of discussing weaknesses, you just unload everything you got on the out of date BoP?

Klingon + German = Perfekt!

@Jim4575 Agreed
You get a couple of phaser blasts and that's it.
If you look at the video posted here where the enterprise is up against the husnock vessel, it's clear it can fire multiple torpedoes and phasers at once

@UOForums Yes I've seen it and that's why I'm so puzzled by the poor defense of the Enterprise. They let loose on it.
Jim4575 1 year ago
@Jim4575 I said the same thing in another Generations vid, all they had to do was the ol' "rotate shield frequencies" and one volley of torps should've at least crippled that BoP, but since shields are critical in Trek to defense, bypassing them gave the BoP a huge advantage and maybe the Enterprise's weapons and shield controls were messed up, plus the fact the BoPs are small but powerful and this old one could have modern tech; remember three BoPs almost destroyed the Ent in one TNG episode
PMeursault 1 year ago
@Jim4575 How cheap can you get??? According to the Memory Alpha article on the movie, they only paid for Stewart and Spiner to have new custom made "DS9 style uniforms". All the others were borrowed. Frakes is wearing Avery Brooks' and LeVar is wearing Colm Meaney's.
GreekRoyalty 1 year ago
@GreekRoyalty Now that's bean counting !!! Maybe the lack of photon torpedoes and more phaser fire was because they ran out of money !!!
Jim4575 1 year ago
@GreekRoyalty I can't for the life of me remember his name but that male doctor in Star Trek Voyager? I would've liked to see Troi wear his uniform and keep her hair the way it was during the last season of TNG... without the bangs.
My personal opinion but Data, Picard, Geordi, and Riker didn't look too bad with the DS9/Voyager uniforms.

@Jim4575 IF humans ever do space travel you shud join them.

@808Hea That's should. We need to develop warp drive but this will take a long time.

@Jim4575 They just needed an excuse to get rid of the design and introduce a new one. I never really liked the TNG Enterprise - it looked weird.
