  • If Hitler had won the war...

  • All space battles should be dubbed in German-except for when a character says 'Fire!' then it should be in, well, German.

  • a plasma spoon

  • That is a galaxy class starship, we are no match for them!

Well, they are no match for a bugged visor!

  • I knew I should have paid more attention in my high school German class

  • No.... Worf shouldn't talk like that... It is a breach of etiquette...

  • Feels like Das Boot in space!

  • They seem to be speaking words of some kind. lmao

  • OH SHY ZAH

  • pussy way for enterprise-D to go out, shoulda gotten destroyed by the borg

  • ALL space battles should be in German-it SO works

  • i never knew that deanna is capable of driving the enterprise o.O

why didn´t she do this right from the start.. it would have saved us a lot of wesley-moments...and we had more of them deanna moments..when she rubs the console and replys the captains orders with her sexy voice o.O

  • @Spionsilver Ever noticed that whenever Deanna drives the ship it crashes...

  • @pete1munchen yeah allright but it wasn´t her fault

she crashed 1701-D but it was core breach shockwave causing descent from orbit;)

she crashed 1701-E but it was Picards order..so in fact.. her insurance will cover it;)

  • @Spionsilver cause girls cant drive unless in absolute emergencies

  • well its funny i am german and didnt expect that video in german

  • Das Boot in space.

  • I also really feel for dubbing voice actors. They have to do an incredible job considering they're just sitting in front of a microphone watching a screen, but it'll never be as good as the original film.

So I don't see the point in dubs. If you don't know English, don't watch films recorded in English without subtitles! Or just learn English! I don't watch dubbed Anime, because it looks and sounds stupid, and I'm content with reading subtitles, rather than trying to learn Japanese.

  • While it's funny that this video is in German, why should anyone expect that in 250 years, people would be speaking the exact same version of the English language that we are today, or even that we're even speaking English whatsoever?

While no-one's ever going to know for sure, I reckon Firefly did it best, incorporating Mandarin Chinese in with English, cause it seems that's the way the language may be going, in a couple of centuries anyway!

  • Guys, it's obvious they didn't recycle the bird of prey explosion, obviously the ship exploded in EXACTLY the same way. :P

  • i love how they kept recycling that bird of prey explosion

  • @AJCTB its became a classic explosion used constantyl throughout the series. it also saved on the budget

  • 23 persons don't speak german

  • Riker - "Plasma spoon?"

  • @CynicalVision dnt forget....its a defective plasma spoon.....

  • Toll!

  • I can't tell the difference between Klingon and German.

  • Warp core breach!

  • Das war aber mehr wie 2 sekunden.

  • DA Defective Plamsa spol? Yea Da Defective plasma spol !!!! 0:52 lol

  • Starfleet under German management!

  • lol 2:32 is from DS9 aswell!they sure love flying klingons!

  • my first thought when i heard the klingons talk: is this klingon?

  • data even souds awesome in other launages

  • The Enterprise D is so Beautiful!

  • One more proof that Riker is overrated quasiofficer and Kalrami in Peak Performance was quite right to be prejudiced...

  • Micheal Dorn is a better Worf

  • @syg068

Not really... he doesn't say "light on" but about "Leitung", german for "cable" or "wire"

  • i think this was actually the only bird of prey ever exploded in all the movies xD

  • Why does warf sound like a um.... sissy?

  • @Wolfstanus Sissy?!

  • @Wolfstanus probably because the person doing the voice over is a sissy, obviously lol

  • Action Star Trek in German ! I like it :)

  • Mr. Vorf !! I love it.

  • @NIGHTWHMAN In ST 3, the BOP shields were up, here they were not

  • LOL I've seen this many times in English and seeing it in German is amazing!!

    haha Data: Ya...YA!

  • Wow, I just realized, the scene where the warbird gets destroyed was taken directly out of undiscovered county. Really? You put out a motion picture and you rip off a previous movie, really?

  • Like an U-boat battle.

  • "Mister Woff" is all I heard, and I felt ashamed for laughing. Well, maybe only a little bit.

  • I always liked it. Till I found out that it's the same explosion as in StarTrek 6. => FAIL

  • Ya'll speak american?

  • Ich bin ein Hitler ofu Borgumz. Resistancefarum ist futilum. Yumt vill bef assimilatumiserd!

  • I love the german language.

  • They should have done this scene with the Duras sisters using a stolen Romulan warbird or klingon Attack cruiser. The Enterprise had so much more fire power then that old klingon Bird of Prey that it would have made more sense using something bigger then it.

  • Meh, I liked this movie, overall. It's funny, the German dubbing makes it sound like 1 person is just doing differen't voices. To their credit (admittedly a flimsy defense), they didn't know how they penetrated the shields, only that they had (they never said "they found our shield frequency" though they could have tried it. But yeah, even so, they wouldn't even need to re-modulate, just alpha-strike the BOP and see your troubles go up in smoke.

  • and yes, when I first saw this I had just watched 6 and seen the same explosion of bird of prey, that was anti climatic

  • Modulate the shields, fire all weapons, that's all they had to do to save the ship

  • the bird of prey would not have stood "No" chance against the enterprise with out getting in to its shields.

  • Riker: "Deanna, take the helm!"

Me: "NOOOOO, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NOOOO!"

  • @Lackofcoitus LMAO.. why it would have been cool

  • My birthday wish.

A three way with the duras sisters.

  • Riker's voice actor here sounds like a total wimp until he tells Worf to fire.

  • So this is what they sound like without the universal translator ..

  • komm da muss man mehr als fasher feuern da müssen Topedus gefeuern werden

  • the destruction sequence for the bird of brey is the exact same as chang's ship in undiscovered country... check it out, im just throwing it out there...

  • VISTER VORF

  • Riker says FEUER not FIRE that is the German word for Fire.

    It sounds similar in pronunciation.

  • Der Knall bei 2:40 sieht doch cool aus

  • @MrSovjetunion

das schon, nur ist das ne Szene aus einem älteren Star Trek Film :D

  • this scene made me hate the Galaxy Class

Yeah now i know how to say "Fire in German"

  • this scene made me hate the Galaxy Class

  • Anyone else notice that some of those scenes around 2:32 to 2:40 are re-used in DS9 season 7, think in the final battle, possibly amongst other stuff?

  • @ilovevanbuyten

Ist dir auch aufgefallen das Crusher gar nicht auf der Brücke war und dies tatsächlich Deanna Troi ist?

  • we've had seat belts since the 1950's, and they dont have them in the 2300's?

  • @tmc359 People in the 24th century are spoiled by inertial dampers.

  • "Plasma spool?"

    "Plasma spool!"

I love this voice over, the German and the periscope go together beautifully too.

  • Fire means Fire in any language, lol!

  • @TheAndyOf1

Almost... its "Feuer" in german... listen carefully and you can hear out the difference.

Nevertheless: Riker (his dubbed voice) says it awesome, best second in the clip.

  • TOO FUNNY....at 2:16, she says "vwat !!!!"

  • wow i dont understand german but i know exactly what they're saying when they're saying it.. hahahaa

  • no wonder riker never wanted to be a captain lol he has no tactical ideas at all, they could have just changed the shield frequency :)

  • Thank God the sisters were using a defective ship, and that defect was known to Worf. How very ... convenient ....

  • Riker has no idea what he's doing. In Rascals 2 Br'el class ships easily took control of the Enterprise, because all he did was ask for damage reports. Now here, he's messing with triggering a plasma coil? What is so hard or complicated about "Mr. Worf, fire all weapons". 1701-D really deserved better than to go down like this on the big screen....

  • @ 2:33 that same scene is used in DS9 a few times when a Klingon ship is destroyed/ damaged ... once in the dominion war scene.

  • The explosion of the ship was used in ST6 also. Saves budget I guess :-)

  • I love listening to in German, it sounds funny.

  • Shame. Lursa and Bator were such good characters.

  • Jeez, how weak are photon torpedoes, the opening shots from the Klingon Bird of landed right near engineering, it should have destroyed the whole ship. Back in TOS, if shields go down, game is basically over. It's because the weapons were powerful enough to annihilate a ship without shields. 1 photon torpedo or a good phaser hit was all it would take. Now the Enterprise can get pummeled for over 2 minutes without shields. Hmm, maybe it's because the script required it.

  • wow! The klingons were firing fiercly to damage the enterprise. but the enterprise destroyed them without even trying!

  • Coincidence considering Frakes character is in command when the Enterprise-D is destroyed, and then he's the director for ST:FC and introduces the new Sovereign class Enterprise-E. It's the Frakes conspiracy.

  • "Ja! Der plashmaspool!"

  • Cool, dass es in deutsch ist.

  • DAS BOOT!

  • damn German DATA sounds wacked

  • riker sounds even hoter in german...dam this man looks amazing

  • Scenes like this make you wonder if all that fancy technology has made TNG era starfleet lazy. Really, one of the most powerful ships in the fleet taken out by one crappy BoP?

  • @pandaphil

Well yeah it was a shitty scene for a shitty movie. Even without shields, a single Bird of Prey has little chance of destroying a Galaxy class starship. And what's with the whole elaborate "Oh no we need to disable their plasma coil and make them cloak so their shields drop so we can destroy them" bullshit? What happened to firing and just firing till they explode? A BoP can't survive sustained fire from the Enterprise, we've seen that for ourselves before.

  • Watch Star Trek VI when they blow up Chang's Bird of Prey. It's the exact same shot, they recycled it.

  • It would make more sense if the first torpedo had just disabled their shields.

  • I liked the Klingon Sisters too bad they bit the space dust :-(

  • This is what happens when a hack producer, writer and director all conspire to ruin a franchise. *shakes head*

  • @fredthefrowner wait what? the writer was Ronald D. Moore. The same guy that did "All Good Things" and Deep Space Nine.

  • Eine Salve besteht aus einem Torpedo...

  • are you all retarded? They were rotating the shield frequencies, but it was done by Geordie, and the klingons saw what he was looking at, which is rotating the shield frequencies. They just changed weapon frequencies again.

  • @Danhelll

    "are you all retarded" ?

You should ask that question to yourself sir.

Go back and not only watch but LISTEN to this entire scene. You WON'T hear anyone say, 'rotate shield frequencies!' Not only that...IF they did, the Klingon torpedoes & phasers wouldn't have gotten through their bloody shields, so easily.

  • @Danhelll That MAY have been in the expanded novel, but if you look at the scene, Geordi is moving around and not staring at a screen.

  • JA!! HMPH!!

  • For 7 years we heard about "rotating the shield frequencies" and when I saw this in the theater I yelled out loud, "rotate the shield frequencies!" LOL

  • @fmscribs I thought EXACTLY the same, when i saw this Movie in the Cinema long time ago... :D

  • @fmscribs XD

  • @Jukkax26

What does XD mean? Sorry, an old man here.

  • @fmscribs Its laughing hard. The 'X' is screwed up eyes, the 'D' is an open smiling/laughing mouth.

  • @fmscribs Trekkie! :)

  • @fmscribs Well that can kinda be overlooked being Geordi would be the one rotating the shield frequencies and they were spying through his VISOR.

  • @fmscribs They only rotate the shields when they fight the Bord. When it's a Bird of Prey, they crash land on an M planet. This is Star Trek. An IGNORANT FLEET.

  • @fmscribs

I said the same thing! Taken down by an old Bird of Prey...lame. They could have made it a NeghVar warship or something. lol

  • @fmscribs Well, they needed to replace a perfectly fine ship with something longer. Just to compensate.

  • my god are uboats birds of prey :) ?

  • @fmscribs they didn't know how the biird of prey was firing through their shields and riker had to act fast

  • @Gelendelith1 It doesn't really matter how they're doing it. The point is the Enterprise has enough forward facing firepower to turn that Bird of Prey into dust. The writers were just trying to force and contrive a thing so they could come up with a new design for the next movie. It makes no sense how this fight progresses.

  • Why are the title and description in English if the scene is in German?

  • omfg, klingons never heard of evasive manouvers, do they??^^

  • The Klingons are WAAAY more intimidating in German.

  • @bwlane47

    u fat slut

    wtf is ur problem bich

  • Gene Roddenberry would be writhing in his grave.

  • The Enterprise was destroyed because they were speaking German. It takes too long to give orders and explain things in German than it does in English. The only language that takes longer to give orders and explain things than German is French. You see, this is why the French were beaten so badly by the Germans in two world wars, while the Brits, Americans, and Canadians were able to defeat the Germans. The Enterprise crew should have stuck to English. :)

  • @BloodofPatriots LOL the Linguistic Theory of War :D

  • @BloodofPatriots funniest shit ever... I'm german and i laughed so hard at that comment! hilarious :D

  • @eternalsunrising Vielen dank.

  • the USS Enterprise D Could have been saved by geordi ejecting the warp core into space so that the warp core breach would have not destroyed the ship dont u agree

  • @2008FORDF450V8 were warp core ejectors invented in star trek storylines at this stage??? Thought myself klingon torpedos would do more damage... but also... why didnt the enterprise fire about 20 photons????

  • @traineespark yes they had ejection systems.he breach was almost always irreversible, as most safety protocols and systems would have failed prior to the event. Warp core ejection was a common method of dealing with a breach, although this was considered a last ditch effort and often failed aboard

  • @2008FORDF450V8 oh i know... even in the new star trek movie theres ejectors... but for the enterprise d storyline they mite not have existed only until they thought about voyager enterprise E etc

  • owned!

  • as soon as the enterprise got hit you should of dubbed over riker with the guy from das boot going ALARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRM

  • The only thing I understood in this entire video was "Mr Data" :P

  • i swear the explosion of the bird of prey was from undiscovered counrty

  • @kbrenard92

It was, I swear they've used that clip in every battle involving a bird of prey!

  • This scene is ridiculous in so many ways. A BoP shouldn't last 5 seconds against a Galaxy class, whether its shields are up of not. Pretty disruptor torpedoes, though.

  • Something sexy of hearing the Klingon sisters speeking German.

  • I love how Riker says "Fire!" like "Wreck those Klingon bitches NOW!"

  • Klingons love periscopes. That is 1 crowded klingon bridge, guess they all wanted a front row seat.

  • @asuch874

no they wanted to see the cleavage on the duras sisters :p

  • It seems Mr. Plinkett was right; the Enterprise overpowered that little ship almost instantly. =D

  • god I would love to have sex with a Klingon woman, can you imagine the rough ride..yeehaw!!

  • Klingons with tits...now that's what I'm talking about. It was probably a good thing Captian Kirk wasn't attacked by them, he would want to fuck all of them. LOL

  • I like ensign babyface better.

  • This video makes me feel i'm on a U-boat for some reason, uh?

  • I saw the Klingon Bird of Prey in it's Movie debut on Opening day in 1984.It's like a WW2 Submarine.. Bird of Prey should have been Larger with an Aft Torpedo Tube. It should have also had a Larger Crew Complement,at least 75 to 100 Crew.

  • lol!? Did you see that? How cheap does production have to be to copy the exact same bird of prey explosion from Star Trek 6? That's a fail.

  • @10blood saves money + the several other scenes in this movie taken from no. 6

  • I like this movie alot better in German for some reason....the stolen footage from ST6 however for a dying warbird was an insult to everyone, the budget covered 2 casts but couldnt blow up a new model? BS

  • And, they didn't rotate their shield frequencies, why?! You'd think that would be SOP following the Borg attack.....

  • Actually the explosion of the bird of pray is from STAR TREK VI

  • Whoa.. sounds like total Shit in german as well what the hell...

Sorry folks but in other languages sounds awful i had to mute it cause

sounded like a bad german old war movie...

  • Somehow, Klingon and German go perfectly together! LMAO

  • The Klingon Bird of Prey, has been such a thorn in the side of ships named Enterprise.

  • 2:04 That had to hurt, ouch.

  • BIIIIIIIG MISTAKE

  • I tell you what, pretty sloppy having a Bird of Prey with a defective "Plasma Spoon" :-)

  • Maybe instead of discussing weaknesses, you just unload everything you got on the out of date BoP?

  • Klingon + German = Perfekt!

  • I have always hated this seen simply because they could have changed the shield frequency or just opened up with phasers and photon torpedos. That is a Galaxy class starship and she's loaded with weapons. One foley of up to 10 photon torpedos and some phaser fire would have destroyed that out of date Br'el class Bird of prey.

The destruction of the Bird of Prey is clearly a reused piece from Star Trek VI . How cheap can you go?

Love the German voice over. Ha! Ha! Very dramatic.

  • @Jim4575 Agreed

You get a couple of phaser blasts and that's it.

If you look at the video posted here where the enterprise is up against the husnock vessel, it's clear it can fire multiple torpedoes and phasers at once

  • @UOForums Yes I've seen it and that's why I'm so puzzled by the poor defense of the Enterprise. They let loose on it.

  • @Jim4575 I said the same thing in another Generations vid, all they had to do was the ol' "rotate shield frequencies" and one volley of torps should've at least crippled that BoP, but since shields are critical in Trek to defense, bypassing them gave the BoP a huge advantage and maybe the Enterprise's weapons and shield controls were messed up, plus the fact the BoPs are small but powerful and this old one could have modern tech; remember three BoPs almost destroyed the Ent in one TNG episode

  • @Jim4575 How cheap can you get??? According to the Memory Alpha article on the movie, they only paid for Stewart and Spiner to have new custom made "DS9 style uniforms". All the others were borrowed. Frakes is wearing Avery Brooks' and LeVar is wearing Colm Meaney's.

  • @GreekRoyalty Now that's bean counting !!! Maybe the lack of photon torpedoes and more phaser fire was because they ran out of money !!!

  • @GreekRoyalty I can't for the life of me remember his name but that male doctor in Star Trek Voyager? I would've liked to see Troi wear his uniform and keep her hair the way it was during the last season of TNG... without the bangs.

My personal opinion but Data, Picard, Geordi, and Riker didn't look too bad with the DS9/Voyager uniforms.

  • @Jim4575 IF humans ever do space travel you shud join them.

  • @808Hea That's should. We need to develop warp drive but this will take a long time.

  • @Jim4575 They just needed an excuse to get rid of the design and introduce a new one. I never really liked the TNG Enterprise - it looked weird.
