this made me remeber how i wanted to be a life affirming jesus following christian, and could not seem to get support for such hippie ideals in the church. people who can become offended when you pray for peace on your enemies, have surely got things confused. I have no problem with the teachings of many religion founders, but it takes another type altogether to reinterpret things to support their selfish evils.

I think that it might be because they(the christian drones) get use to the false idea of an "all loving" and/or "all protecting" authority that is their god character; that they fall for the same fallacy whenever a persons or organization comes around claiming to have their best interests at heart. Great video, great anger, sometimes you have to get angry to change things. I think there are two parts to this problem.

1. Christianity, like many religions, values blind faith and devotion to ideas not based on logic.

2. Politicians recognize that religion is above debate so they use it to gain power, to deceive people, and to protect themselves from dissent.

I don't intend to change anyone with this video, it was more of a late-night vent to get the frustration that I have out. I gave $200 to Ron Paul because I'll do anything to avoid another Authoritarian in office and I was just crushed when Huckabee, the most extreme and intolerant GOP candidate, won Iowa.

I grew up in a Christian family and I can honestly say I noticed the lack of common sense of those around me even as a child. How can anyone believe every word in the Bible with no proof it wasn't conjured up by con men, yet they would choose to let their leaders ignore the constitution of their home land even though we have the original with all the signatures! Many even say it's old and obsolete. I am disturbed by what I see my christian friends and neighbors doing as well.

There have been sad times in history that blood was shed in the name of Christ, but that is not the way of Jesus. Study the Bible, and you will see. The 20th century was the bloodiest century in history, and it was fueled by Atheism (Marxism, etc.) As for American evangelicals, I think that they believe that America's material prosperity is evidence of God's favor. I think Christians have a strong link with authoritarianism because Christians want a strong central leader (like Christ) who will save them from all possible problems. They want a God-man to come back and save them.

As for the link between death and religion, I beleive it just depends on the motivations of the leader of the flock. If they already have power, they will play the fear and death card to keep power. If they want money or wealth, they will play the equality card, (pls give to help others type of thing). So it just depends on what the leader of the flock wants.
