@Schlipperschlopper at least 10 turns on the steering wheel before it turns direction hahaha, you gotta love Citroen who already in 1970 introduced the fastest and most accurate steering system the world ever have seen, the DIRAVI power steering system in the SM model and later in the CX25 and XMV6 models. In fact i´ts so fukkin good that RollsRoyse and Jaguar got interested and used it by permssion from Citroen.
I used to have a 77 Newport, almost identical except for headlights/grill, back lights, bezel around speedometer. Maybe the engines were diferent, not sure. I had done some custom body work ot mine, made it 6" longer in front. People sitting in the back were amazed to watch the hood ornament turn the corner before the rest of the car, even before I made it longer. I couldn't keep up with the rust, though. Great to see some still out there.
i dont care about the gas, a good total tune up and fill the tank up w/ super unleaded, then get er out on the highway for a good 4 hour cruise would be good. I'm still looking for that car to own forever.
I wonder if Thom Yorke is in the backseat?

In the summer of 2008, this car would have taken a WHOLE Franklin ($100) to fill its gas tank!
