I agree with you that people can move and worship freely. However, what do you think about the fact that the government confiscates some churches and other religious properties?
Sadly, this is the price one pays for speaking out against government. Forced separation of families, forced labor, beatings, being fed food grown in feces, and all of that. If they would have just learned to keep their mouth shut and all that, right?
When was the last time that you were beaten, placed into forced labor, or tortured for speaking out against your government, or for what you believed in? This has nothing to do with speaking out against government is has everything to do with religious freedom.
This story is misleading..I spend 3 months every year in Vietnam and live among the Vietnamese and travel freely..There is freedom of religion in Vietnam..The only reason "Christians" are "Persecuted" is because the Christian clergy there insist on combining political messages and anti-government propaganda in thier "sermons"
