I have Ichat AIM and have a mac book, but my friend does not. She has AIM, just not a mac book. I can't see her when we video chat even though she can see and hear me. I can only hear her. What's the deal?
it sounds like a permissions issue on her end. i would tell her to check her settings and be sure that she can see whatever is coming through her camera. but i'm not really sure, because i only use ichat.

no, you can't add anybody from msn or yahoo. it's a drag, but apple's ichat works on top of aol's instant messenger (aim). i'm on mac, and so are most of my friends, so ichat is what we all use.

you just use your personal email address, so that if you forget your password, aim can email you a new one.

you can, but you need to use msn messenger or adium. they are just different programs than ichat.

I thought if you downloaded msn it wouldn't work, because it's windows which is microsoft software, and why would microsoft software work on a mac?
