State and local is more important to me on state and local issues. There are, though, issues that are not held within state borders. With those issues, the federal gov't is the most important.

And, no, I am not confused about Paul's "ending the fed". That's exactly what he wants to do in, at least, 5 major ways, as he explained himself. In many ways you could swap federal reserve for federal government in that "end the fed" statement.

When this happens you cannot pay back the debt and the bank makes an agreement with the country to give away a % of the labor of its citizens. It's easy. A LOT of people get rich off the government (i.e., taxpayers). RP wants to dramatically shrink government (ie. put a lot of $ back into the private sector). Therefore, the people who get rich will be forced to do so honestly. I do wish Ron Paul would have mentioned the recent ABC news article that "Foreign Policy Experts Agree with Ron Paul's Controversial Foreign Policy". Those experts include Harvey Sapolsky, emeritus professor of public policy and organization at MIT and Christopher Preble, vice president for defense and foreign policy studies at the Cato Institute.
