if you didn't like this movie thats respectable, but the bigger piece of this movie is the message and the story it told. i think if you don't have the brain of a 10 year old then you would have at least understood the plot of the story and appreciated that it was brilliantly played out in scenes. it left mystery and emotion in the all the right places and at the conclusion of the movie you were left completely shocked and moved by the character's stories. BUT... to each's own i guess.

One of my favorite films. I seem to relate to Diana in her youth and maybe that's why I am deeply fascinated by the entire story. To @greengreen4lyfe, if you have this movie on disc, just watch it again and again (over time) and each time something new will come to you. That is one mark of an excellent film.

Too many films are geared to the masses where like intellectual junk food they provide instant gratification and leave you fattened. A great three course meal comes to you in stages.

I absolutely adore this genre of movies!!! and I can surely say this is the best one i have ever watched, I rarely cry while watching movies but this one..Gosh! i could hardly hold the tears..it really moves the deepest warm human feelings inside.. the storyline is deep and sad, and I couldn't stop thinking about it even hours after... It kinda makes u think deeper about life..Really really touches my heart..Perfect story, perfect acting, realistic, fresh, original and unseen..

This movie had a lot of negative reviews. I don't know why the fhuck it did. Apparently it was too confusing and "melodramatic". This movie is NOT confusing at all. Yes it has a little twist but seriously you don't have to be smart to get it. It is such a beautiful movie and it really did touch me. It also awakened me to the beauty of life, and what you would do/say/think when your life is almost taken away from you. This movie should have gotten a lot more credit than it actually has.

Spoilers:

Evan Rachel Wood/Uma Thurman's character Diana dies. It's essentially exactly what the title says. Diana is standing in the bathroom with Michael Patrick (the gunman) and her best friend Maureen. And while the gunman is letting them pick which one lives and dies Diana sees her life flash before her eyes before she tells Michael that he wants him to shoot her, and so he does. It's like the saying "your life will flash before you eyes" before you die. Hope this helped!
