Jesus was a man for sure no god, supernatural entities don't exist. Though it also quite likely that moses, abraham etc... didn't exist at all. They were just figures created for the purpose of national solidarity.
This number that crops up in all civilisations, anciet greece, classical architecture, the pyramids etc.. its nothing unusual. The ancient greeks already had a theory of heliocentricism. How the hell are clouds like mountains, he may be speaking figuratively or poetically but they aren't like mountains. How does creation start from a drop of blood? What do you mean by that?
For sure your right, much of christian tradition stems directly from pagan practice mixed with the Judaism of the Jesus cult. I'm not a Christian I agree with you.
For certain the church may have thought so but Galileo was no the first to propose a heliocentric universe. The ancient greeks were and was something that only galileo was able to 'confirm for certain'. Its not my bible I don't believe in it. Mr Christian lol very funny.
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. Isaiah 40:22
In 330 BC, Aristotle provided observational evidence for the spherical Earth. You are thinking of Copernican heliocentrism, that the earth wasn't the centre of the solar system, but the sun, in the 16thC NOT 1600s. Though the first person to present an argument for a heliocentric system, however, was Aristarchus of Samos (c. 270 BC).
Muhammed didn't have a microscope, whatever is written in the Quran does not demonstrate that it was needed for such advanced mesurement. It is not the ancients b4 muhammed hadn't had the ideas that we have 2day. They just wern't able to verify it, not 'discover' it. The Arabs, Indians, Greeks, Romans and Chinese, before Muhammed, wern't idiots and buffoons.
U both read into the text something that isn't there.
You don't even need to look at the whole genome to compare just look at the MtDNA (mitocondrial DNA). The reason why they used pigs for Organ xenotransplantation is because the phylogenetic genetic distance is higher than chimpanzees and baboons, (i.e. they are less closely related, but still compatable) that there is lower risk of cross-species disease transmission. Also because breeding chimpanzees and oher primates takes alot longer to meet the demand.
The HMS Beagle reached the Galapagos Archipelago on, 16th September 1835.
The finches are normally given more credit than they are due,if you read his book, the origi of species, you will see that he makes use of a much more considerable database of specimines and fossils.
You have misunderstood evolution by natural selection. Species do not suddenly turn from one species into another. The genetics of the genous change over time very slowly. Current species in existence did not change from one to another but have a common ancestor to eachother. E.g zebras and horses, lions and tigers. These species can sometimes even still breed with eachother today, they are called hybrids.
How about those animals that walk on 6 legs or on 8 etc... 1000s of legs. This means nothing.
Even I as a supposed illiterate arab i.e. Muhammed would be able to tell you that ther are animals that walk on 2 or 4 legs and some on their bellies e.g. snakes.
i) It doesn't say no light, ii) It doesn't specify the time of day iii) It doesn't specify it is in the sea iv) it doesn't specify that it would be at the bottom of the sea.
I have read what she has sent me and have given my reply.
It also doesn't specify that the darkness that man is in, is necessarily in the sea. The last thing it mentions before this is clouds an therefore air. It doesn't specify the time of day, t could be midnight on a cloudy day, pitch black. This passage does not describe internal waves, neither does the biblical passage. It could have been written by someone who had done some diving - or more likely a poet who is employing something called "hyperbole", ever heard of it? Probably not.
For one it doesn't state that the deep sea mentioned is an ocean. Equally a biblical passage could be describing these internal waves and currents.
"You hurled me into the deep, into the very heart of the seas, and the CURRENTS swirled about me; ALL YOUR WAVES and breakers swept over me." Jonah 2:3
If you have ever been free-diving then you would know that the best divers can hold their breath for 2-4 mins, and dive to depths of 40-60m. Its pitch black down there esp. when cloudy.
Critisizing your religion doesn't make me a racist. Religious identity is not "a race". If you call Chrisians QUOTE "racist and cruel" does that make you a racist. no it doesn't, it just means that you have a prejudice against people who have certain ideology. Though I don't have a prejudice aganst muslims. I only dislike their religion because I think it is wrong. I hate all superstitions, but not superstitious people.
I applaud your family's liberalism. Though Islam and muslims are concerned about non-believers. Do not muslims proselytize and practice Dawah? You say you were Jewish, then were you not converted? Muslims want to convert others just as Christians do. I have heard it with my own ears. Muslim have tried to convert me and I think it is fair enough that they want to. Though I too have conversations with them about my ideas.
I don't need to respect anybody's culture just because it is theirs. I respect individual as human beings but will not accept what they necessarily have to say or think. If I want to criticize something because i think it is false then i will. I don't dislike your religion because YOU believe in it. Have u not criticized some aspects of western culture, & made, broad, media produced, prejudiced assumptions about it and me?
For sure! Racism isn't only a white man's disease. I look around me and see racism everywhere. some Black west africans are racist against black caribbeans. black people suffer racism from some chinese. White people suffer racism from muslims and hindus who derogatorily call them "Kafir" and "Ghora". The chinese call white people "gweilo". The reason why you don't know is because the media portrays the "white man" as "the only racist. Western media will not talk about other racial prejudices.
For sure Islam has evolved. In muhammed's lifetime the qibla was changed from Jerusalem to mecca. The Quran wasn't even written until after muhammed's death and even after then there was contoversy. Islam split into at least two factions Shia and Sunni. There are many different sects within Islam as there are in Christianity, etc... This is not the original state of Islam in the mind of muhammed. Islam evolves over time like all ideologies. Some branches are weaker, some are stronger.
Even the Christians say "the disciples were uneduucated fishermen" just to make it seem miraculous and so that nobody suspects, hmmm maybe these individuals were actually clever people who knew what they were doing. Even if muhammed was illiterate no doubt he would have surrounded himself with intelligent individuals, and since we was from a distinguished family that wouldn't have been hard.
This scientific knowledge which already existed, coupled with the Christian and Jewish traditons, was the foundation of the Quarn and Islam.
It is also perpetuated that muhammed was illiterate. Being the nephew of, Abu Talib, the head of the clan of Banu Hashim, and being a wealthy merchant like his father, the likelihood that he didn't recieve an eduaction is slim. As a merchant he would have gone to many places met many well-educated, wealthy and powerful people and heard new ideas.
Look, by the time that muhammed came on the scene alot of work had been done in the sciences, that people who do not read the ancients do not give them credit for. The idea is perpetuated, as you and others do, that the ancient civilsations, the greeks, romans, Indians, and arabs before muhammed, were puerly prehistoric idiots who knew nothing. Sure they got some things wrong but they also got alot right. it wasn't impossible for them to know, and we know that they knew.
As an atheist it doesn't matter to me whether the Islam preached is very liberal or extreamist. (As a citizen I do, though thats not what I am talking about here). Almost all doctrines can be intolerant, christianity being no exception. When it comes to the survival of Ideas, religions etc.."survival of the fittest" still applies. Religions have come and gone, the ones practiced today will evolve or perish too. They survive by conversion, reproduction and force. Islam is evolving or dieing.
I have to say that in what you say i.e. "i find it ignorant that westerners dont know or study the diffrence", that you yourself are stereotising. Many do know the difference me being one of them. True I find the burka, niqab etc. antisocial, though they have a right to wear it. Muslims also have a right to proselytize. Every person of any religion has the right to convert and be converted. Though I think all religions are only superstions and I have the right to say so. I'm not american.
I'm just having a conversation that you started. I voiced my opinion about this video...I have a right to. I have no hatred of any1 who accepts certain ideas, i only hold disdain for the ideas & beliefs themselves.
I couldn't careless about my tan, intellectual endevour is first and foremost the most important thing for a society to survive. I have degree and will be studying for an MA.
I'm not stopping muslims practicing their religion as long as they don't do it at the expense of others freedoms. Muslims proselytize my intention is mearly to do the same. You have the freedom to convert and were converted yourself, I have the freedom to do it in counter measure if i so choose.
My bone with you is not that you QUOTE "deny things without checking them" you accept thing without doing so.
Unfortunately if the reason why people did take drugs, rape, murder and streel was due to the fact that they live in a free country then something could be done about it. The truth is that these things happen in all societies, it is just that in some countries the police service catch the buggers and the media is free to report on it, while in others it is the opposite.
I have an honest job, and I have a life, it may not be spectacular but on average whose is?
They are not coincidences, people read in to the text what they want to. If you want to read into the bible, torah, quran, vedas etc... what you want then obviously you will see what you want to.
PS I live in a free country with free speech even on the net so I can talk to and say what I like and so can you and I uphold your right to do so even if we don't see eye to eye. I hate all superstitions not just Islam, but I don't condone the hatred towards those that hold them, even if they me.
I'm not gonna teach you Arabic, Im using an english translation made by Hafiz Abdullah Yusuf Ali a Sunni Islamic scholar. His translation specifies it to mean "a land close by". I can't argue with him. All Im pointing out is that Quranic Arabic is ambiguous and therefore is not proof of what you and others say that there is proof.
All I was saying is that ur not a slave 2 what u think ur. U in my eyes r a slave 2 the Unseen, i.e. things that u have not seen for yourself but have been told to believe exist.
Quran 30:3 normally means " a land close by" Yusuf Ali Trs. Though others who would like to twist the meaning so to say the lowest place on earth. This is not proof.
We did not descend from monkeys we share a common ancestor.
Islam measn 'surrender'.... Christians too surrender themselves to 'God'

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. John 29:9
This is a saying taken directly from ancient polytheistic religions in Arabia. Marduk the king of the Sumerian Gods killed Taimat, he cut her body in two. One half he created the heaven the other half he created th earth. From one he created both. The Christians and Jews have a similar creation myth in Genesis. The hindus in the mahabaratha.
There isn't a sea around Arabia ou must be joking. The Red sea nad the Arabian Sea encircle it. Even Mecca is right next to the Red Sea. Even if Muhammed had never seen the sea and that these things were described by whomever wrote the Koran, it does not mean it is the word of a deity. The ancient greeks knew much about the mechanics of the world long before muhammed came on the scene, you don't say that their writtings were inspired by God. It cannot even be said that muhammed wrote the text.
Thanks darling, but what i was wanting to know is how you know that what you think is true. Just saying there is proof but not putting it forward isn't much of a ploy.
You may not believe 'just' because your daddy said so but it is obvious that was the reason you came to believe in the first place. You were told that God exists by your parents etc... but now you try and use other methods of justification and i'm assuming its not just hearsay.
Tell me one scientific fact that proves this, which could not be used for another religion's holy text to proved also true.
If another religion said the same thing you would not believe it. Though since you assume that Islam is true, to begin with, you will only believe yor own proofs.
