Can you tell me if you have had err99 occur on your 40D ? if so was it an easy fix? Haven't bought mine yet due to some horror stories I've been reading about these errors which occur in the canon eos range. Any advise?

I have this camera for over a year and never had errors. It's a wonderfull camera and is still seen as one of the best in his class.

So don't be afraid and buy this camera.

It's a very valid comparison. Quite a few 300D/350D/400D users will be thinking of making the upgrade to a 40D/50D.
