I really like the volume of the orchestra and the chorus that are both close to the original. Not cold and historically oriented while not overly symphonic and too loud. The fact that it takes place in broad daylight in a place that could well be in southern Crete is an opposition that is more than welcome, since it is adhering to the ancient tragic tradition of performing 3 tragedies and one comedy in one day under the Sun's ardent light. The furies is a real invention while the masked souls
Lovely excerpt. The sylvan setting adds to the immediacy and authentic feeling of the scene and Ms Volovna certainly knows her opera stagecraft. Wish I could have been there to see the entire production. The singing was more professional than many "professional" companies. BRAVI to all!!
Volovna's vision is striking. Three furies control the rest, the masked dead souls and then they are so moved by the music of Orpheus that they remove their masks..
Also the way they respond to Orpheus is also perfectly synchronized to the music. Munoz is perfect as Orpheus with a voice of rare beauty and her musicality is extraordinary. Bravi!
It appears that Apollo Opera and stage director Volovna have made the most of this scene on what appears to be a limited budget. Munoz is a convincing Orfeo, too bad the time constraints of Youtube didn't allow for the complete aria.
An impressive creative undertaking for Gluck's work. Too bad the video was not on the level of the production and and the tital role protagonist. Too bad the 10 min time limit cut what was a very emotional moment...

is also rooted in the tragic history. Orfeo is accurate, virile and emotional. Congratulations! I wish we could have this staging in Athens...
