    Have you ever heard of of the Vector W8 or its successor, the Vector WX-3 with a 10.000ccm aluminium block and about 1800hp and a top speed of about 438km/h (about 273,75mph)?

  • You are VERY misinformed. The Vector WX-3 was supposed to have a range of 7L engines making up to 1000 hp but the more powerful ones weren't even designed. The engines that weren't finished were claimed to be able to reach 250 MPH, but they were never made so it never made it there. This was all back in 1993. The Vector W2 however, was built and it reached 242 MPH, but NOT 273. They showed the WX8 at the 2008 LA Auto Show, it has a 10L engine. They CLAIM 1850hp and 275MPH, keyword CLAIM.

  • You're not too bright. The reason why it's cheap is because it has a small engine with about 500hp, but it is so light that it's like an F1 car for the road. It would destroy those others ont the track.

    Caterhams are cheap, but they can still beat Lambos.

  • i can name the top speed for each car caparo t1 205 mph, bugatti veyron 253 mph, koenigsegg ccx never tested the ccr (the one before it beat the mclaren f1 record)it managed 241 mph they estimate the ccx goes 245+, saleen s7 240 mph, ruf rt12 219 mph, pagani zonda s 211 mph, mclaren f1 lm 240 mph

  • To those who do not know the Saleen S7 twin turbo does do 248mph which means its faster than the Koenigsegg ccx 243-245 mph. both companies are now making race ready competion vehicles similar to the enzo fxx they will both have 1000 + hp.

  • The RUF can be used as a daily driver, it's comfortable and faster than an Enzo. For the price, it can't be beat.

  • What about the Noble M400 for 90k you hit 60 in3.5 faster than any Ferrari, are comfortable, out handle anything else, and maintanance will most lkely be lesss seeing as it has a Ford V6 Duritec with 2 Garrett Turbos glued to it.

  • No I am sorry you must be mistaken the only two road cars to come any where close to producing enough down force to do that are the Radical brands, and the Capora T1 which does 3Gs in the corner only. No car production car produces enough down force to run upside at any speed never mind 150MPH as you are suggesting. None of the Lemans cars can do it either. Only a Formula 1 car can do that and that is at top speed not 150MPH.

  • That single developement would allow that car to out handle ANY car in history and would revolutionize engineering in general. Not to mention that car could be compared to as F1 around a track time if it is as fast and handles as good as you claim.

  • Beyond that I watch Racing avidly and I've only seen the S7 win once. Most of time it is struggling to finish in the top 7, it is getting beat by Ferraris, Corvettes, and Porsches, now seeing as how the car has that much trouble on the track are you going to tell me a road car will out handle its racing counterpart and will ultimately perform better in every way than its racing counterpart? Come on lets get realistic here.

  • i'm going to have to say the koenigsegg ccx is the best car. it combines power and luxury perfectly. not to mention it has the most horsepower of any car. (1064). The McLaren is old news and I don't think anyone driving a car that can top 200 mph cares about safety.

  • I doubt most peopel have the balls to hit 150MPH in any car most peopel say they can but it does become extremely fast and scary when you are moving that fast. I highly doubt anyone would dare press the pedal hard enough in the McLaren to really let it off its leash.

  • I don't think the Porsche, the Veyron have any business being there. I can't tell what the opther car silver car is it looks like either a Mercedes or a BMW 645 not sure though. The McLaren F1 is still the greatest, the Pagani is simply astonishing and besides the Koenigsegg is the only car to come remotely close the McLaren F1 all in all. The Saleen S7 is not all that great it is way way way over hyped. Nice car yes, is it on the same level as the others? NOT A CHANCE IN HELL.

  • Actually no you are wrong, technically the fastest top speed production car was and has been the Lotec C1000 268MPH, the fastest 0 to 60 belongs to Caparo T1 0-60 in 2.5 sec 0-100 in 5.0 dead. And no the McLaren is the same speed off the line as the CCX other wise the CCR and CCX are slower, koneiggsegs, provided those stats on their site.

  • Actually your wrong i looked on 5 different websites and could not find anything saying about the Lotec C1000 doing 268mph maybe that was a typo. because i found the Lotec Sirus does 248mph and the C1000 does 232mph. the fastest 0-60 car would be the Barabus tkr if its put into production but right now the fastest 0-60 car is the Hennessy viper but your right about the Caparo T1.

  • Besides I wasn't talking about speed, I was talking about the greatness of the cars, I don't consider a car that was designed asthetically first which is a major no no in an engineers rule book instead of being designed aerodymically first, Bugatti went back and redesign parts of the car and added auto-wings on the car to keep it stable and ON the ground while hiting its top speed. It proves the car wasn't designed safely.

  • The T1 is a great car but readlining at 204 mph the Speed Demons aren't satisfied.The T1 is more amazing on the track then the street.I'm sure Caparo has a few veriations there working on to satisfy those whos sole purpose is speed though.

  • Lots of cars with better time then the McF1 on nurburgring.F1's time was 7:45:00 better times in no paticular order belong to the Radical SR8 and 3,Carrera GT,Koenigsegg CCX and CCR,Murcielago LP640 and Pagani Zonda C12 F.There are others go do some fact finding.The F1 and S7 are still kick ass cars though.

  • the mclaren f1 was never truly timed. It is an estimate from the pistonheads vid where the driver was not going all out. His shifts are lazy, he isn't wot all the time, and he has significant traffic. In reality, it has the capability to do much much faster. Like faster than carrera gt fast.

  • Consider the fact that unlike the bugatti and newer hyper cars, the Mclaren did not have abs or traction control. And that it's bmw sourced v12 engine is a mere 6.1 litres. smaller than the big block 427's which rang in at 7 litres. The veryon is a small 16 at 8 litres, but quad turbos? come on. forced induction is nice...but natural aspiration is just...natural

    The Veyron isn't a sportscar pur sang, it's a luxury grand tourer.

    It's also built to be reliable, and should be able to deliver at least 1001 HP under any circumstance for 20 years.

AND the only reason the F1 is so popular was because it held the top speed record from 1993 to 2005 but then was surpassed by the koenigsegg.its actualy not that great of a car.

The Veyron would get destroyed around a track, The F1 LM is a race car, something the Veyron never was designed to be, that is why they DO NOT race it. The F1 is the most successful race car (that was also produced) in history. It beat the GT40's records.

  • no one really knows how the veyron goes round the bends ive never seen any test of it, and neither have you. The veyron has more power and torque AND most importantly 4WD both have all carbon fiber bodies. Im not saying your wrong but im absolutely sure the veyron wouldn't get "destroyed"

  • Please keep in mind that more power, and torque means jackshit, and all wheel drive can help but it doesn't mean you will win or even perform well it just means all four wheel will have power delivered to them when the cars computers deems it necessary, I say the McLaren would win because it was designed to go around a track, it was designed to win.

  • Sorry ran out of space in my last reply. When Bugatti designed the Veyron they really only designed it go in a straight line, the AWD may just be an aid to help the car be easier to drive without burning out with that massive power under the hood. After all I have an MR2 (130BHP) and I have beaten M3, 06&07 Vettes, Subaru WRX, EVO, and 03 911 Carrera in the corners, plus two those were not only faster but have AWD. It is meant to help nothing more nothign less but it doesn't always.

  • The corners is where all of the speed on a track really comes from, the straights are good but if you can't corner then you'll lose no matter what car you are in, plus let me just say that only 2 race cars have evr had 4WD or AWD the Nissan Skyline and Audi Lemans, and Lemans car isn't necessarily dominating and the skyline never won a race on the INTERNATIONAL circuit. I believe the McLaren would win no matter what.

Audi won Lemans 24hrs 7 straight years (i have a feeling tho you're talking about ALMS), if thats not dominating i dont know what is. 4x4 is for grip and spreading power distribution, not just to make it 'easier to drive'. Do rally cars not count as 'race cars'. Bare in mind both groups have one thing in common and thats to finish first.

  • I normally don't respond to things like this but no one here mentioned the weight difference. The bugatti is rated at 4470lbs, the mclaren is at 2513lbs. If you drop down to the Mclaren F1 LM its down to 2341 a full 2 grand less than the bugatti. That is a pretty huge difference in weight.

    Can't choose really, I love the technological miracle the Bugatti Veyron is, the Caparo T1 for being litterally a streetlegal Formula 1 car and the McLaren F1 for the technological miracle it used to be.

    Although the McLaren looks really bad and the Veyron is more of an engineering miracle today.

    It's all about big-displacement, if they just focussed on making a smaller, lighter, high-revving naturally aspirated V8 engine, they could actually be popular cars.

  • In the same way that the Ultima GTR is made by men with beards in sheds. Compare the 2 then tell me why the S7 is worth $600,000.

  • Ultima GTR is nice for the price, but any small company can take a tiny, lightweight frame, throw good brakes on it, and a huge, high-hp (American Chevy V8) engine in it, then do just about the same, or better performance. That's no big deal. Until we see the Ultimate GTR running endurance races like the Saleen S7, AND setting track records like the Saleen did at Le Mans 24 hr., all the Ultimate GTR is, is a glorified street cart to have fun in, for an awesome price.

  • Gotta give your video 1 stars because:

    1. Rap does not equal high-performance racing. Rap equals big, clunky, gas-guzzling, overkill luxious, tacky heavy, pieces of shit you couldn't do anything with. Jazz is more performance driven.

    2. The Bugatti is in the middle as if it's the greatest one of them all. None of those cars comes close to the Caparo T1, shown only once in the video. Except maybe, the McLaren F1, which was designed by the same person as the Caparo T1 (Gordon Murray).

  • wrong, the caparo t1 is the fastest. 0-60 2.5, 0-100 <5 1100lbs, 500hp.

  • Bugatti Veyron has also done 2,5 s 0-100 kph (0-60 mph) on the Nardo track, and goes 407,8 kph (253,4 mph)

    The Caparo T1 might be able to do 3G corners and kill the Veyron on the track, but with rearwheeldrive and 480-500HP it will never outdo the Veyron on acceleration and topspeed.

  • It'd then be quicker, but not faster. Top speed and how fast you get from 0-60 and 0-100 are different arenas. Higher top speed = fastest. Quicker in getting to the top speed = quickest. So, te Veyron IS the fastest, just maybe not the quickest.

  • its a fact that in any race quickness matters, plus it takes around 3 miles of straight for that veyron to reach top speed. what race has a 3 mile straight?
