There really isn't much difference between them I think. The only difference is that DInobot went with Optimus Primal whilst Starscream stayed and tried to get Megatron to see him whilst protecting the Autobots and the humans. Starscream felt guilty by what he was doing, and was having second thoughts on what he was doing, whilst DInobot sought to overthrow Megatron in Beast Wars but changed his way in the end.

That is what I think the differences are to me.

Just to compare. Starscream in almost all the gerations of Transformers was stuck up and thought he could do better than Megatron. Some examples:

G1: Starscram was exterminated by Galvatron for going way too far in power replaced by Thundercracker.

BW: Starscream was already dead after his assasionation by galvertron and was a lost spirit.

Unicron era: Watch above and you'll see he has been affected by Nemisis Prime and claims to be Thundercracker for jealousy of Megatron's alternative from.

Armada Starscream is not "affected" by Nemesis Prime. He, Megatron, Red Alert, Demolishor and Hot Shot were damaged in battle against Nemesis Prime, given new armor by Mini-Cons. He doesn't claim to be Thundercracker; he just says he looks like Thundercracker (Hasbro's Armada Thundercracker toy was sold as a powered-up Starscream in Japan).

This scene is beautiful in more than one way. Starscream's speech was beautiful, the perfect way to express his desire for good, instead of Tyranny. It touched Galvatron. However, Megatron treated him like a lowly pawn and would never accredit poor Starscream on anything. This angered him and he began to show signs of defiance. He saw how fairly Optimus treated his men and realized that was how a true leader behaves. Then, as a last act of rebellion, he sacrifices himself to give the Autobots a chance to recapture the sword.

1. He's not just trying to "betray" Megatron like the classic G1 Starscream. He's trying to stop Megatron from driving the 'cons off a cliff. in that regard he was more loyal to Megatron than most of the 'cons. Armada Starscream is the Starscream with honor and a conscience. He's basically more BW Dinobot than G1 Starscream.

2. He was quite successful at his actual goal (again, not betrayal), but at the cost of his own life.

3. Alexis. Hot Shot.

I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw this scene when it first aired... I was as shocked as Megs and Prime by what I saw... We need to see more Starscream characters like this one... it's definately what I'm gonna base my version of him on in my storyline (After the traversty of Michael Bay's films, it's given me the kick to start writing my own Fan Fic series, and I want a starscream similar to this one...)
