I based my previous comment on Hitler's lack of speaking skills purely on watching Triumph of the Will but having now seen other examples of his public speaking I can quite see how he won the loyalty of millions. His speeches were well composed and his delivery compelling. What a pity he listened to Von Ribbentrop's advice that Britain wouldn't fight if Germany reoccupied its former territories of Danzig and the Polish Coridoor!

I don't speak German but I've heard Hitler speak (with subtitles) in 'Triumph of the Will'. I have never understood how such a poor public speaker managed to move his audience. His style of oratory is dire and he does not use any of the proven principles of good oratory. Goebbels was a far, far better speaker than Hitler. I heard Mosley speak and he used all the tricks of aliteration, voice modulation etc to tremendous effect. What he said and how he said it were always original and dramatic..

Mosley was English, and that is why many Britons today follow him, as Hitler wasn't standing up for Britain, or speaking for Britain, Mosley was. Mosley could have revolutionised Britain.
