Extra towel head & ears ,PULL ear flap back & cover w/palm of your hand slowly move up dryer from neck .Or put your thumb IN the ear. Left hand and thumb over the eyes for top, on LOW. Pass this on,stop seizures, heartattacks torture. A smart Groom.

  • You should get rid of that mold on the wall before doing more videos..Just looks bad.

  • Um whats on the wall?

  • throw em in the dryer

  • Here's a thought. The reason you need ear protection and the dog doesn't is that the groomer is exposed to the sound for several hours every day. Its the same reason bartenders need earplugs, but their customers don't. One session is not going to hurt the dog's ears permanently even if they're groomed every couple of weeks. Besides, have you ever tried to put earplugs in a dog's ears?

  • @huskymom01 THANK YOU!

  • IF YOU BEGIN WHEN THEY ARE PUPPIES, THEY GET SO USE TO THOSE DRYER SOUNDS, ETC. THAT THE GET RELAXED AND CALMER EACH TIME. OUR MINI SCHNAUZER BEGAN AT 8 WEEKS...LOVES GOING TO THE GROOMER..AND SO WELL BEHAVED

  • @AKQJ40 If done properly ;)

  • Man, I wish my dog was this calm.

My dog is a rebel when it comes to bathing/drying him. -.-

  • i cover my dogs bed in towels and put it in front of my warm fire place and he dries himself rolling around then finishes his day off with a nice warm nap

  • I am an assistant at a dog grooming shop and i do baths and drying. we have one of the big dryers like yours with the two motor option, but we also have a small one. I find it much better to start off with the small one talking to the dog to make sure it wont panic then try the bigger one. But i NEVER NEVER use the big dryer on the head cause it can cause serious ear damage. Even with just the one motor on.

    Tips-for-tip-givers

    lol

  • use a blowdryer!

  • If its too loud for you then what about the dog he can hear better than you?

  • poor dog..they put back in a cage??

  • @Rochell0 Kennel drying can be alot less stressful then hand drying, but not very effective for the poodles and dogs like the poodle

  • My hearing's a little off, what'd you say? Put the dog in the dryer?

  • the guy gets ear protection but not the dog ? o.e " rip off

  • what a dick!

  • That blower is ridiculous.. If you want to get bitten by a nervous dog, I'm thinking that's the perfect way to accomplish that.

  • Looking at your website, I now understand you are trainers not groomer! Big difference!

  • What about the dogs ears? They are 100 times more sensitive then yours. But you probably don't care, if he gets sore ears or even deaf, do you? And nobody would ever think that it is the groomers fault for the sore ears, and the dog can't talk. Is that why groomers won't let you watch?

  • The frequency range of dog hearing is approximately 40 Hz to 60,000 Hz, which means that dogs can detect sounds far beyond the upper limit of the human auditory spectrum.

In humans the maximum range of audible frequencies normally lies between 16 Hz and 16,384 Hz (16.384 kHz).

  • lol. i thought the ear protection was for the dog.

  • omg theres like this thing and its like better and its called a hair dryer yeah u should get one!

  • What a good dog! My binky bear hates taking baths. Ugh! They are such a chore.

  • So does mine! My dog is a minature poodle and he jumps out of the bath when im not looking.

  • he's so black and cute :D

  • For the ones commenting on the tub: The tub is just fine. What you're seeing is clear above the dog on the wall, like tiles were removed or something. Maybe it's mold or maybe it's adhesive, but it is not hurting the dog for pete's sake.

  • unfortunatly there are no ear plugs for dogs, hello! yeah, and its the groomers who are doing several blow drying sessions a day with several dogs, and the dog himself only has to deal with it once every month or less. we need the ear plugs more!

  • The dog needs his ears protected if its too loud for human.

  • hahahaah

  • Use Ear Protection for you but not the dog who's hearing is obviously way better than yours?

    Good Job!..

  • @LuckyBangg Your correct , to many dogs suffer terribly . The dog in video is taking it like very few can.

  • To many dogs suffer from aggressive groomers.

  • wow.

  • jajajaja wet dogs xD

  • Several points to be aware of:

    1. The mold around the tub is probably shedding toxic spores that will make you and the dogs sick. Isn't the smell nauseating? Bleach it, and spray some kilz on it, or call a painter and ask them what to do.

    2. Hearing protection? Get a quieter blower, they are cheap. You must not realize you are hurting the dogs ears.

    3. Portugese water dogs need to be fluff dried and can be in about 15 minutes using a force air blower. ie they dry fast.

  • your tub is DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What do you excpect? The dogs dirtyness went through the tub..

  • i was talking about the obvious moldy crud above the tub. i own a pet grooming business and your tub doesn't get that dirty, its more hairy than anything.

  • Thank you now, I don't have this stinky wet thing around the house.

  • You use ear protection? what about that poor dog who here's 1000 times better than you? how considerate.

  • If you knew ANYTHING about grooming, you would know a dog would NEVER let any type of "ear protection" to stay on. Idiot. As for the guy wearing ear protection, he is just a wuss. Plus the noise isn't THAT bad.

  • well well, who is being so rude nightwish? In response for everyone, I am a dog trainer, and sometimes help out some groomers I know (as well as owning dogs that need bathing alot). We use just some cotton balls in the ears, to make the noise more bareable, as well as the added plus of keeping the water out, so they are easier to clean. And, the noise is that bad if you work with it everyday, infacy hearing lose is common in groomers because of the amount of noise they deal with.
