  • What do you think the cold war was? It certainly had nothing to do with temperature.

  • Kenny from Southpark filmed this video

  • Someone cast Ice 3.

  • We meat again 240p

  • One of the tags for this video is "burr"

  • chuck norris must have yawned.....

  • @stuckurface fuck you

  • this sounds like its from Newfoundland... think i hear some newfanese

  • you remember when you used have to use the tracking to get a good picture out of the vcr?

  • Semantics, they're still ocean salt water( which requires much colder temps to freeze) than non salt) this is awesome thanks for enduring the cold itsef to shoot the video.

  • OMG .. it´s wonderful

  • its wonderful

  • bananas are blue?

  • @D4rQW4v3 There is a blue banana, a Barbados Blue Banana.

  • dont you love when wanna be editors feel the need to start an text intro TO A VIDEO THAT ISNT EVEN THEIRS, FUQING TARDS!

  • @dfhohj your a fucking tard

  • it's still cool doesn't matter if it's sheets of ice or waves.

  • Well, I agree its the ice sheet breaking, but it's fairly cool to watch!

  • it's an ocean's cum. eat it

  • that the small ice sheet being pushed on the shore becausse the wather is raising

  • wonder what happens when u piss

  • @84WAKEUP Your bladder empties.

  • I hate to say it, and I know it just looks like this, but it kinda looks like it's in slow-mo on most of it.

  • It rained today. That was caused because I breathed out some Carbon Dioxide and it affected the temperature and made more clouds in the sky. Please government big man tax me so it doesn't happen again.

  • Frigging stupid cameraman! Up and down the shore like a fool, without giving the chance to watch the thing properly!!

Such an occasion wasted by an idiot behind a videocam!

    Moron!!!

  • The image of a snowy Christmas so implanted in our consciousness is largely due to Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. Dickens as a child experienced consistent white Christmas's as Britain was just coming out of a mini ice-age. No doubt that was caused by cattle-farts and destructive human activity: -the widespread roasting of chestnuts perhaps?

Luckily we now have cap and trade to prevent further anomalies.

I jest of course. Global warming is of course a tax-raising scam.

  • @SuperChickenrider So you say global warming is fake? I fail to see how your statement helps or hinders either of our arguments, and I wish to make just one point. If it is fake, why would people be faking it? It would cost money to fix a problem that doesn't exist. Even then, though, we would prevent such a problem from ever existing, so surely it is good to fix the problem, even if it is false?

  • @TheScurvyNinja In the last 9 years the planet have being actually cooling.

  • Comment removed

  • @Martins2012 @Martins2012 That would be a region called 'america', a land well known for rednecks and denialists. A simple google search yeilds hundreds of sources showing the RISING, GLOBAL temp over the last several to few hundred years.

  • @TheScurvyNinja Dude, not even Al Gore talk about global warming anymore after Jesse Venture's show debunking the global warming scam. Wake up, the same google search will provide you evidence to the contrary. The owner of the weather channel is suing Al Gore for misinformation.

  • See it every winter here in the Keweenaw Peninsla on Lake Superior....

  • Hey Al Gore what do you think about this?

  • @kimsfishface global warming isn't about it being hot, it's about the greenhouse gas effect leading to a global climate change. Which could cause something like this.

    You lose.

  • haha thats not waves!! thats sheets of ice, sometimes after a storm and the tide it strong it pushes the sheets of packed ice onto the shore. and Im sure this video is from Newfoundland....looks like miles cove. cool video tho

  • The Day After Tommorow!!!

  • wtf.... somebody is pushing iceberg... bullshit.. that's not wave.. LOL

  • Was it pushed in by the tide? Everyone there certainly enjoyed it =)

  • craziest shit ive ever seen

  • i wanna snow board on that

  • wow! do you know where was this? its really impressive!

  • awesome but after it melts would be scary

it could let go at any time

  • lol, 'looks like sea foam to me'

  • this is caused by a layer of ice on the water. when the current of the water slams the ice into the shore then the ice breaks giving the appearance of a wave. stumbled in london...

  • looks like sea foam to me. I've seen it on Oregon beaches.

  • sea foam? don't just pause the video and comment, play the video!

  • This Wuz cool.

  • What happened was they were on a river, and the tide was pushing up the frozen ice on the surface up onto shore. So those aren't frozen waves. But it's still cool.

  • its just an ice flow getting pushed by the tide onto the rocks

  • oh is that all it is.

  • the tide is coming in.

  • fuck thats cold its -22 degrees here, wonder how cold it is there?

  • they aren't waves. It's old ice and snow being pushed.

  • I wonder what happens when you spit at someone

  • like damn, i dont complain about the cold cause i always wear shorts even if its below 32, but dang, i never seen that before

  • he isch kalt oder?

  • unless its toxic waste lol.

  • These arn't waves. Its the Ice sheet being pushed onto the shoreline.

  • @DerFlo4711

Same thing, water gets pushed on to the shore and its called a wave too...........

  • @DerFlo4711 yeah and the people by the waves would have been frozen solid

  • @DerFlo4711

    same comment here!

  • @DerFlo4711 No I have seen this happen myself

  • @DerFlo4711 you're an ice sheet...

  • @DerFlo4711 i had a juice this morning with carrots and courgettes, you should of seen my ice sheet,it was like a fuckin water bomb.

  • @DerFlo4711 yeah, so they're frozen waves.

  • heyyy! i appreciate the cold!

  • That's not very cold...that just means that the temperature of the water if below freezing but as it breaks up, increases surface area and comes into contact with the air it freezes like it should.

  • Seen as water retains heat alot more than air or rock, thats pretty fucking cold.

  • but water from a sea, or lake would have below freezing points below 32 Fahrenheit, especially if the water is moving, which would bring the freezing point to probably 0 fahrenheit. Because it pretty froze "instantly" meant the temperature had to be even lower.

  • @petertan2 well I see this kind of weather every year in Edmonton so I was just being a little cocky I guess...no harm intended but yes, that is freaking COLD!

  • I don't think I'm going to stop complaining about the cold.

  • STUMBLE!

  • ME TOO!

  • dude i want to surf that...yeah surf it.

  • That would be funny, could be like "Check me out bitches, I'm surfing... now I'm snowboarding"

  • ahhh..... that's not cold

  • It's salt water slob ice being pushed ashore. It happens most often when tides pushes sheets of thinly frozen sea ice onto the shore crushing it as it does so.. It can happen under several conditions such as getting a warmer day after several cold days and the ice is not yet thick enough to withstand the warmer temperatures and the tides push it onto the shore. Or sometimes in the spring when the salt water ice has just about thawed the tides or winds push it onshore.

  • This is salt water. It is a bay in Newfoundland. I have seen it myself when I lived there as a child.

  • thats is quite cool

  • I think that some people that's racre has been in cold weather for thousands of years have probibly developed protenes simmilar to that of fish, humans with anti-freeze

  • You need to learn how to spell.

  • ya i dont know what my problem is i read very well im not some idiot my brain just dosen't like forming words properly

  • its not that cold out obviously.. in extreme cold any exposed skin will get frostbite in about 30 seconds. those guys aren't even wearing that much clothing. must be fresh water, no way its cold enough for salt water to freeze.

  • wow

  • Would be awesome to see that in real life. my guess is that its super chilled sea water..its like freezing a beer

  • this is probably fresh water, maybe Russia's Baykal, it could be a bitch of a winter in Michigan?

  • take in acount that the sea is salty, therefore harder to freeze...curse you Robert Heinleim... :)

  • is that like superfreezing?

  • imagine all the snow you would get after a while

  • stumbled

  • Lease you won'thave to worry about a flood ey?

  • amazing phenomenon - thanks for posting

  • STUMBLE

  • same :P

  • same

  • you dont have to find every little thing wrong with something and then complain about it

  • well lets see us americans gave you aircraft, Bifocals, Self Propelled Amphibious vehicle, Sewing Machine, Revolver, Power Tools, Burglar Alarm, Oil Well Drilling, Repeating Rifle, Telephone, ect... so it looks to me as though americans have done alot of things right so shut your fucking pie hole about my country every one makes mistakes your country has had some kind of shit too just because the usa is in the headlines all the time does not mean we are the only country that fucks up.

  • obama is fucking everything up he was a mistake.

  • Fuck Yeah man. I never saw freezing waves before but right when obama becomes president waves start freezing. I mean seriously, why did he let this stuff happen?

  • lol!

  • yeah hes acting like hes the peace maker

  • Comment removed

  • well shit i dont have a closet

  • pwn

  • FUCK SAKE! people this is a fucking vid sharing website, take your retarded testosterone filled bullshit somewhere else, plus theshy dont be such a pedantic fuck (that was an exception)

  • -265

  • ok retards i saw this happening a couple days ago its not waves its the ice sheet hitting the shore and breaking and a buildup of ice occurs so there

  • duh?

  • @machinimaFILMS watch who you're calling retard, when you and your twelve companions don't know shit about shit.... The Ice is still coming in "Waves"

The propulsion behind the phenomenon is generated by the same principles if the ice were melted, splashing at the shore. The analogy of it being a wave is technically correct as it's not a glacier.

  • @JaybayJay The ice isn't coming in waves, it is just being pushed constantly. Nothing waving about it. Also, check the dates of comments. They guy posted his comment a year ago.

  • awesome!!!!

  • Adkit2, for everyone's sake, just shut the F up. You've not added anything to this comment thread at all, you've simply detracted, pointed your finger in every direction and said, "YOU'RE WRONG!!!!111" and then screamed and shouted dubious statements when confronted. I'm sure you're going to try and pick this one apart too, but I'll bet it'll take you eons to realize: No one cares. No one likes you. And you're just a piece of arrogant eurotrash. I look forward to your eventual suicide.

  • Adkit2, you're basically suddenly turning this comment board into an unnecessary troll fight. I've stooped to your idiocy enough. I hope whatever's wrong with you to put such importance on arguing with people on the internet over a simple joke you don't find funny (but others do...) gets fixed soon. Because you've annoyed the shit out of basically everyone here. I truly hope you gain some humility and leave us to our silly jokes. STOP TAKING YOURSELF SO SERIOUSLY.

    P.S. No one likes you.

  • Wow remix...nice smackdown

  • no way! lol thats crazy!

  • no there is a thick layer of ice Ive seen this before in real life when the ice starts to move to the shore its so powerful it crumbles on the shore making the ice waves

  • This is photoshopped (i.e., potatochopped)

I can tell from some of the pixels and seeing quite a few of these shops in my time.

  • Ya, photoshopped a video eh?

  • Remix4357 is a fucking imbicille

  • Actually, you're a fucking imbicille. It's called (A.) SARCASM and (B.) A JOKE. You're obviously too stupid to remember things you've seen on the internet, a few of which are known as MEMES, tardface. Try an experiment. Type "this looks shopped i can tell from some of the pixels". Google should finish the phrase for you with the "suggestions" feature. Now, look at the number of hits, and read the first hit. If you still don't understand, you are the "imbicille" (who even uses that as an insult?)

  • funny joke...har har

  • If you have to explain a joke...it's not funny.

It's not even called sarcasm, it wasn't even a joke. It was just a lame attempt at getting attention by repeating something you've heard somebody else say. And you failed.

  • Comment removed

  • If you have to try to legitimize your existance by insulting others...you're pretty sad.

It's not even like this just happened, this was originally said a week ago. What you said was just a lame attempt at getting attention by attacking someone for something that doesn't even matter. And you are a virgin.

  • I didn't really insult anyone. If you took it as an insult it's because you felt what happened gave you a negative presence. Which is your problem, not mine.

If you have to explain a joke is ISN'T funny, that one is true.

You failed by trying to do a bad pop-culture reference, that is also true.

    Where's the insult exactly?

  • Oh, I thought you where the other guy, meh.

  • Dear Adkit2: from the dictionary...

"Sarcasm is stating the opposite of an intended meaning... It is strongly associated with irony."

Explain how it isn't sarcasm please. And how are ironic statements are not humorous? I don't ridicule you for your origami obsession & you're not even correct in your assessment of what I said. It is sarcastic, it is a joke, and many people find it quite funny. PS: You may wish to learn what a meme is before insulting me for "repeating what I've heard others say"

  • If people had found it funny then they would've gotten the joke, wouldn't they? x.x

    1. 2 videos (well two two-parters) isn't an obsession you retard.

    2. It isn't sarcasm. It's close but it's not actually sarcasm.

    3. I know what a meme is, that doesn't mean they're jokes just for repeating them and it does NOT make you funny for the delicious copypasta. See that was a meme. I'm so funny.

  • A. People do find it funny. Just because they didn't decide to post that they LOL'D doesn't mean people don't find it funny.

    B. You are an origami addict. Period. Very lame.

    C. It IS sarcasm. It fits the definiton perfectly. Learn English, you Swedish retard.

  • 1. I said 1, 2 and 3.

    2. The people who find it funny know about that particulat meme. The people who didn't find it funny, the ones who commented, don't know about it! And you insulted them for NOT KNOWING IT! How retarded is that? How ignorant is that?

    3. You said you wouldn't try and insult me for my "origami addiction". Yet you tried still. Makes you a liar I guess.

    4. I know more english than you know swedish, peon. Try to argue that. Try to. I dare you. Fucking pathetic...

  • 1. You're annoying

    2. No one cares

    3. Origami sucks

    4. I doubt it. You claim on your page that you're not good with english. I go to an Ivy League school. Hmm.

    5. SHUT UP. You're just an annoyance spamming up this entire comment board.

    6. Kill yourself. Please?

  • I'm spamming it up? First of all, it's a "comment board". What else would you do with it? And second of all, you're really desperate to get the last word...

  • duhh hey guys whats goin on here derr :P

  • I'd also like to show you something from your comments board that you posted, Adkit2:

"because asshats never understand that they're asshats themselves. and that, in short, is what's wrong with the youtube-commenters"

I think this very much applies to you. You're the one who decided to make a crude, insulting statement about a simple, innocent joke. What you said is exactly what would come out of the mouth of a troll. But like you said, you'll never realize it.

  • I want you to take my comment and point exactly at the thing you found crude OR insulting, dipshit.

    Suit yourself.

  • Yet more signs of global warming........

  • What? I thought global warming caused WARMING. If this theory of yours is correct than you could blame ANY natural phenomenon on global warming.

  • I was joking of course......but this is the reasoning of those who would have you accept that global warming is occurring. In fact, allow me to demonstrate something that disproves global warming.

You know how they say that with global warming the polar ice will melt causing ocean levels to rise?

Here is an experiment that disproves that hogwash. Fill a glass of water halfway with water and the rest of the way with ice cubes.

  • Now watch the glass carefully for a few hours. Did the water rise over the top of the glass?

No. The same science applies to polar ice in the ocean. Because it already displaces water in its frozen state, if and when that same ice melts, the ocean levels will actually drop. This is because water expands when it freezes and contracts or gets smaller when thawing.

    Pretty interesting ehhh?

    Sorry for the long post.

  • How does that disprove global warming? That just barely disproves the theory that global warming will raise the water level of the ocean.

  • I would love to further demonstrate the numerous reasons for you, as to why global warming is a complete and utter nonsensical farce, but you'd still just be the wonderful ignorant person you are, and it would not improve on your already fantastic ability to discern truth from fiction.

  • So...the fact that I told you exactly why your point was invalid with a perfectly good and logical reason makes me ignorant and unable to tell truth from fiction?

Sounds like you have problems taking criticism...

  • You hit the head right on the nail Adkit2...you are ignorant and unable to tell truth from fiction. Those are your words, not mine.

I offered you scientific evidence that disproves the whole ice melting/oceans rising theory.

    You have offered.....what?

  • No, these are YOUR words: "In fact, allow me to demonstrate something that disproves global warming."

    You didn't. You did not.

  • You are wrong my friend, it is true that whit the natual water diplacement if all the ice in the world's oceans melt the ocean will only rise but a small %. the problem comes when the glaciers on greenland and other landheld icepockets begin to melt .

that is a problem whit global warming.

global warming isnt a myth it has always been there there are evydence of palms on greenland the problem is that because of the human influence the erath is warming much faster than normal

  • Only because of all the hot air coming from your mouth.

    ; p

  • i think you mean you mean hit the nail on the head. who's ignorant now bitch!

  • Comment removed

  • the biggest problem is not the ice that resides directly in water, but there are also huge amounts of ice that have built up on the landmasses. At the poles and the glaciers all over the world.

If all that ice on land melts, the sealevel will be rising a few decimeters. that doesn't sound too tragic, but still you have to rise dams about at least double that amount to be safe from floods due to wave-overshoots.

  • You are simply being ignorant.

The ice on land is not melting. The reason is that the air temps are not increasing. The ocean temps are increasing. The reason is due to the two massive underwater volcanoes currently erupting directly beneath the North Pole.

You really should try to use your 3 remaining brain cells and think for once, and maybe do a little research before you try to shar your little bit of "knowledge."

  • you have the balls to call someone ignorant! You can't even spell.

  • I do have balls....balls of titanium in fact. This is because I'm not an ignorant schmuck blindly following the liberal elitist researchers trying to keep the grant money coming in by lying about what's really happening with the earth.

As for your claim that I cannot spell...you're making a lame attempt at redirecting the conversation to fit your idiosyncratic idealogies. I simply left the e off the word share because I knew it would keep the likes of you involved in the conversation.

  • seems like someone loves to contradict even himself...

First he talks about ice cubes in water, which of course doesnt rise sealevel when they melt, thats plain physics.

Then he over-reads when someone takes a fictive situation "if all ice on land melts" and then he doesn't even stop just plainly insulting people.

And if it is of interest: I indeed did some researches myself. The rise of the Average! temperature over the last 100 years is about 1 °C.

    Please stop insulting, start argumenting.

  • Touche

  • Ye, thats cold alright. I've never seen ice pile up like that before. I've seen sheets of it slide over each other before but not like that. Great vid. Thanks

  • its tooo fucking coldddddd

  • it could be lik eauibs efbaseifbsiretgberdyhru6tu

  • why that lake isn't frozen??

  • If the water is salt (sea water) this is not possible but if it's a lake it might be....

  • Certainly looks like a lake, though

  • Everything freezes at some temperature.

  • no they don't dumbass, every chemical has its own freezeing and melting point.

0 degree's C. just happens to be the compound H2O's freezeing temp.

  • I was simply pointing out that all things freeze even salt water. And it's not just dependent on temperature but, often, pressure and volume too.

  • Right and the freezing point of most ocean water(it really depends on salinity but most ocean water has a salinity of about 35) is around -1.91 degrees farenheit which is around 28.6 degrees farenheit. Obviously it was colder than that in this case haha because at 28.6 degrees you would only start to see the water freezing on top most likely

  • he said SOME point... not SAME point "dumbass"

  • weird and wonderful, however it works :)

  • That's freaking cool =D

  • Naturalnews has a lot of good info concerning the economy and natural ways of being healthy.

  • eeehhh¿?

  • its like a slo mo

  • what he said! 0.0

  • Those aren't waves freezing, that is a sheet of ice on a flowing river or incoming tide. As the tide comes in or the river moves, it continues to deposit ice on to the bank.

  • the cold is not freezing the waves instantly :) de upper part of the water is frozen..thats why it looks like the wave is frozen..

  • Why are all the people in the video wearing windbreakers and t-shirts? Seems like if it was cold enough to freeze breaking waves they'd be dressed warmer?

  • i guess it was not THAT cold, you can tell these guys didnt wear thick clothes
