this guy is a great coach. i love how he points out the different reference points for people with different bodies. most of the wannabe professional coaches on youtube make it sound like there is only 1 proper position for a deadlift.
i have a lot of respect for this guy, really knows what he's talking about and helps sort out simple and majorly effective routines for people with real lives, not the usual bodybuilding crap
the deadlift is pretty taxing exercise. Don't do it too often too heavy. I did 550 one day and 5 days later i could not even pull 500. You need to cycle man.
It amazes me how many "not strong" people attend these seminars. Look, get your ass into the gym and train. Train for 10 years and you'll figure shit out.
None of these seminars, making excuses about short arms or long torso's is going to do a thing to make you a strong mutherfucker.
The really strong guys figure it out or learn from someone who is, or at least was, strong.
"Not strong" people attend these seminars to learn how to do the lift safely and effectively. When people with little to no experience in the gym try to "figure shit out" on their own and end up hurt, they never do the lift again.
Long legs and a short torso isn't an excuse, it just changes the starting position on the deadlift. Once that person knows how he/she needs to be set-up to perform the deadlift, they have the confidence to do it, and it will make them a "strong motherfucker" in the years to come.
These people are all learning from Mark Rippetoe, who "is, or at least was, strong." He also wrote Starting Strength, which is like a bible to some people.
