Don't worry, the 1225 will most likely be back up in a year or two.

But usually a steamer takes 5 years to come out of an overhall.

the 2472 just went through a 5 year overhall.

Not always, back in the days of steam it only took a month to overhaul an engine.

And besides, sometimes the time it takes to finish an overhaul varies. In 2006, the 1225 had a full overhaul completed within in a year.

True, but that's because back then it was done by paid workers. Now a days its done by volunteer work.

And sometimes, volunteers don't have enough time on their hands to help, and there for results in a longer overhall.

What the heck!! Don't you know that 3985 is waayy to large for the tracks in Owosso. there is a curve that 3985 would never make. Thts the reason that she didnt go.

Of course 4449 is the mos famous steam locomotive in the word, she's the last of her kind still running and she pulled the American Freedom Train.

the 765 1225 and 4449 all get credit. but does anyone really care about the NKP 587. COME ON PEOPLE. IT DOUBLE HEADED WITH 611 ACROSS AMERICA. IT ALSO DOUBLE HEADED WITH THE 765.

PM 1225 is scheduled for its next overhaul next year in 2010. The funding from Trainfest will help to pay for the cost of the overhaul which may tak eth ebetter part of a year. but don't worry, the 1225 will be back up and running again after its rebuild.

Also, why put so much hype on one engine. Theres going to be 765 who will be making a comeback plus the newest steam engine ever built in America there as well.

Yeah I know, this was just a little preview as to whats going to be there at the festival, (and i know 4449 is not the "most famous locomotive in the world", I was copying what my friends down there in Owosso were saying) Plus I am making a vid that is going to showcase unqiue facts about the engines that are coming like the 765 and 63.

But did 4449 reach 126 mph? No. Did she ever travel to a different country? No. Is she the only engine that hasn't retired from regular service? No.

I'm sorry, but 4449 might be a popular engine. But she doesn't deserve the title as the most famous. Plus, 611 is still in existence.

I remember they wanted to bring her up for Expo 86 in Vancouver but she wouldn't make some of the track clearances. I'm coming from Ontario, I don't think she's ever been east to my neck of the woods.
