  • my dog died after 4in1 and rabies. Gums started bleeding took to the vet. She had 0 platelets and they gave her shots to get her platelets up. And started to have internal bleeding. Died during transfusion. She was a small shih tzu. I really loved this dogs personality. She is very deeply missed.

  • Vaccinating or not almost always depends mainly in risks x benefits x epidemiology.

The thing is: many owners and some recent graduated vets want to take a "cake-recipe" aproach to that. People want simple answers and create false dichotomies such as this "early x late" paradoxx. As I said before, we DVMs will examine each case and determine which best schedule is according to those major factors (risk x benefit x epidemiology).

    Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you! For once, we have a VET who is not pushing for yearly vaccinations of dogs! I brought my healthy 7 year old maltese for anti rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccines and few weeks later, she got very sick, couldnt walk wobbles, cant stand up for long periods of time, constantly licks the air and all her legs and paws, has severe itching 24/7, etc etc. Unfortunately, I only found out the DANGERS OF VACCINES after my dog got sick from it. DOG VACCINES ARE TOXIC!!

  • I got a question my doberman does'nt wanna eat nothin but he looks very happy like if everything s ok can someone answear my ? Please

  • Wow! A veterinarian who is not pushing yearly vaccinations!! Do you know what happened about the vet in Texas who sued the AMA for pushing yearly vaccs? I have not been able to learn that.

I see the dog is getting a 'cat scan'!

  • Your advice is well taken.

Please look at the camera when speaking. That way we will feel that you are really speaking to each of us! Try to speak w/ less of a sing-song voice style which makes you sound disinterested in what you are trying to impart. You have to keep our attention. Watch the Dr. Oz show to see a charismatic and excited delivery by someone who imparts a passion for what he has to say. Philis

  • Probably better constructive criticism sent as a personal email. I wonder how it feel with the shoe on the other foot.

  • Thanks for the info Dr. Jones. That cat in the background is so cute.

Is Lewis under a general anesthesia? If so, why would you make a video at that time?

  • Hi -

For your comment and the previous one - although Lewis looks like he's unconscious (or under anaesthesia), he's not - that's just that way he is. He's been my demonstration partner since he was very young, and this is just his way - he's a very, very laid back dog.

    Thanks for watching :)

    Dr. J

  • He certainly is a very laid back dog and he is gorgeous!

I stated to question yearly vaccinations after my very small cat had the entire round of shots plus rabies. Normally a very sweet and gentle cat, she became vicious with me and my two other cats for about two days and still sometime has vicious episodes. Your information has contributed to my research and decision to not vaccinate after the initial kitten shots. I now go to the only holistic vet in my city.

  • Is that dog alive? Everytime I watch your videos he's just lying dead on the same table in the same pose. So now I see you got yourself a staffed cat.)))

    Anyway, thanks for the video.

  • Dear Doc, You may want to put your text just above your lens, so you're looking at the viewer while reading your text!

I love your mellow Lewis and your mellow kitty sitting in the b/g. They're precious. And a big Thanks! for your advice & daily updates.

  • I have an 11.5 year young Brittany with a heart murmur, and who showed positive for Lyme earlier this year. (The vet said he had the virus b4 I got him from rescue.) Otherwise he's real healthy. He walks 2x/day for 45min in wooded areas. Since antibiotics for Lyme, the vet want's to revaccinate each year to prevent reinfection, as well as Lepto. There have been deer ticks and moderate wildlife (foxes, deer, etc.) Is this a good idea?
