Good times! Fever / Mass @ The Paradox was my home away from home. First place I felt like I belonged; where I could dance and have a great time with other friendly people without being judged. The vibe from those times gives me hope for the future, even though things have moved on
oh my god! enough said...i so miss this!!!! and accept that i'm too old, and its not worth it anymore :)...still, made me excited...i'm digging out this cd...oh wait...i don't have it anymore...dammit...stupid "gift" being all unattainable... (and stupid me for leaving it at some dude's house)
Ahhh back when it was fun, I miss those days ..back when the entire club had nice people before it was over run by hoodlums in the early 2000's. I miss buzz/nations
b'more 95 -97 was f'ing crazy. you had scott henry and feelgood at fever and the pollen parties twice a month and lonnie's crazy ass secret loft parties in between. e was good and cheap, and tickets weren't thirty dollars or more. I feel priveleged to have been a part of it. god i miss it.
@brianalercia Small world, I was there during that exact time period. I used to get stuck (tripped out) on the main lobby's checkered floor while waiting in line for the bathroom. But the smell... oh, the smell. It's a bittersweet, love-hate, can't-ever-forget-it kind of smell.
that song is on Scott Henry's "The Gift" which I still have a copy off in my car. that tape also has the 20-20 song on it. I don't have a copy of the fever 4 tape, just the damn case.
This must be what ex hippies feel like... LoL Those were good days I went to Fever/Paradox for the first time in 96, and the next 4 or 5 years are a blur. I remember lots of fun and a lot of vicks. xoxo
Growing up sux. the 90s were the best part of my life but time for the next step in life. glad the scene is no longer like for it makes the memories all the better. annybody looking for old mixtapes i have about 500 on my myspace page converted to mp3 and all free. all from 1990 to 1999. you name it......it thers. check my blogs..thats tbe link...search justin frehs on myspace if ya want them. enjoy!
So Fever in b-more had a 10yr anniversary party this last weekend. I heard it was off the hook! Lots of old faces and just like old times. Too bad I moved out to SF or I would have been the first in line. I'm sure it was another 5 block line like it used to be too!
damn.. i used to go to Fever in Philly all the time..
Me and this Blonde Chic Julie used to hit it up every week ..
i liked the Dance Floor .. if i remember correctly.. it was plastic tile and i used to bring Baby Powder to sprinkle on the Dance Floor so my Sneakers would just glide when dancing..
The Back room they would play Hip-Hop with people smoking their Ganja ..
I lived in Baltimore and went to Fever and Rise (& Buzz) more times than I can count or remember in the 90's when everything (clubs, music, djs) was so fuckin hot - but now I live in Philly, and its 2008. I never heard of Philly Fever. . . Is there anyplace good to go out to in 2008 in Philly?
@YesheGyatso HA-HA! I feel the same. I used to go to Fever and Buzz and various private parties back around 95-97. I keep having this fantasy of driving by a deserted place one night and hearing loud techno and seeing laser lights and whatnot. Then I pull over, get out, and let it rip till the sun comes up. It's been so long, but the memories are still pretty fresh.
to the iiivillatrix guy - youtube won't let me comment your page so I have to do it here I didn't see your Feb. comment til just now....seriously, it was my first. Yay.
1992- 1994 was where "rave" was at. I remember going to Fever in '93 and hearing Scott Henry and Greg Sargent for the first time. Changed my brain. I haven't been to a club or party since 2001. Rave is dead.
and ur correct.. the Rave Scene has died years ago.. these days i go out for the music .. . The Rave Scene has instilled Electronica into my Soul ... i'll probably listen to Drum 'N Bass when im 60 :)
There was a free Halloween Party there on year.. but by the time we got there.. it was full .. so my friends and i went around back.. hopped through the Lumber Yard in the back.. then climbed and jumped the Barbed Wire Fence to get in.. Security Grabbed us and let us stay :)
I was wondering if anyone would remember Sunday Mass or Orpheus! Wow- talk about memories.... are we really that old now? LOL Anyway, thanks for the brief flashback!
i think so.. they had sooo many names for them.. all i know is they were came in Capsules .. then we opened it up and either snorted it or parachuted it ..
Listen, who gives a shit about who knows what about "back in the day"???
Isn't it just about how much we loved the place, and how much we would do anything for it to be back? From now on people need to stop worrying about the old and new school, and focus more on being a part of the true school.
I consider "back the day day" to be 93, 94, 95...those were the years....SUpercal had just started doing lights @ the RAve Tent @ the HFStival....Fever was rockin'! Ah yes, the cloud watchin' parties were cool, I just wanted to get my groove on @ all times back then & the cloud watchy stuff moved too slowly for me. Please forgive my bitterness from 9 months ago. Cloudies were fun for the subtle, but alas, I suffered fantastic shivers of ADD back then, so, you know: ON THE CONSTANT MOVE was my game back then. I'm Medicated for it now. fever closed in '97 and then reopended in '99. This was a promotional video for Fever. I guess since it's almost a decade ago, it could be called "back in the day". but as most of us know, back in the day means anything prior to '96. I can't believe how fast the time went.

Rise was so good. I can't find anything on the web about it. all roads lead here lol.
Who's with me? that place was bad ass. Dubtribe, Who, DJ Sun. Damn. That was a rare and wonderful thing.
