  • Rise was so good. I can't find anything on the web about it. all roads lead here lol.

Who's with me? that place was bad ass. Dubtribe, Who, DJ Sun. Damn. That was a rare and wonderful thing.

  • Good times! Fever / Mass @ The Paradox was my home away from home. First place I felt like I belonged; where I could dance and have a great time with other friendly people without being judged. The vibe from those times gives me hope for the future, even though things have moved on

  • ''93-94 was when I enjoyed Fever the most. After that it started to look like a filming for the movie Kids.

  • Miss those days!!! They will never be relived!!!! Had the most amazing times @ Fever and Sunday Mass!!!

  • I miss Fever,Rise & Sunday Mass ;( The Ultraworld family will forever live on in my heart & soul <3

  • B'more born and raised. I was there....rollin' my face off

  • People definitely drank beer at Fever. In fact it was BYOB and they'd keep your drinks behind the bar and give you tickets for them.

  • who drank cans of beer at fever?? This isn't from 'way back in the day'.

  • oh my god! enough said...i so miss this!!!! and accept that i'm too old, and its not worth it anymore :)...still, made me excited...i'm digging out this cd...oh wait...i don't have it anymore...dammit...stupid "gift" being all unattainable... (and stupid me for leaving it at some dude's house)

  • Ahhh back when it was fun, I miss those days ..back when the entire club had nice people before it was over run by hoodlums in the early 2000's. I miss buzz/nations

  • @Izzdan Buzz & Nations changed my life! They opened my eyes to a world I knew nothing about! Oooh to have that back =(

  • b'more 95 -97 was f'ing crazy. you had scott henry and feelgood at fever and the pollen parties twice a month and lonnie's crazy ass secret loft parties in between. e was good and cheap, and tickets weren't thirty dollars or more. I feel priveleged to have been a part of it. god i miss it.

  • @brianalercia Small world, I was there during that exact time period. I used to get stuck (tripped out) on the main lobby's checkered floor while waiting in line for the bathroom. But the smell... oh, the smell. It's a bittersweet, love-hate, can't-ever-forget-it kind of smell.

  • @syndetic bahaha the specks on that checkered floor had me all sorts of confused one night when I was slipped LSD lol toooo funny

  • Awesome! Fever, Sunday Mass, Bring your own beer to the club! Shit was crazy back in the day.

  • that song is on Scott Henry's "The Gift" which I still have a copy off in my car. that tape also has the 20-20 song on it. I don't have a copy of the fever 4 tape, just the damn case.

  • Those damn Fever: "Time To Get ill" vols. were bumpin'! Anybody got those Fevers tapes contact me. I'd love a copy.

  • Damn, that brought back memories.

  • I used to have an old mix tape of scott henry the gift and this track was on side b I think

  • I've still got a copy of that tape. I love it.

  • what is the name of this track!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RIP'

    Fever

    Rise

    Sunday Mass!

    and then later on Buzz!

some of the best years of my LIFE

  • I concur

  • im in LA now but Fever was my home for a bit... rad parties... the scene out here is so much less funky i wanna see that booty shake!

  • Damn It!

i can't just stop by and not say anything !

    LoL!

The commenst you guys leave just bring back so many memories!

i started my "Rave" Career in a little club called "Rainbow Playground" in Philadelphia..

my friends took me there and i fell heads over heel for it ..

the music.. the vibe.. the awesome dancers.. the free Mixed Energy Drinks !!!

anyhow.. if anyone out there remembers "Rainbow Playground" .. that would be great to hear from ya !

    Peace ~

  • This must be what ex hippies feel like... LoL Those were good days I went to Fever/Paradox for the first time in 96, and the next 4 or 5 years are a blur. I remember lots of fun and a lot of vicks. xoxo

  • ....and i am plenty aware of the job i did on my last comment. all done from my phone so no need to be rude :)

  • Growing up sux. the 90s were the best part of my life but time for the next step in life. glad the scene is no longer like for it makes the memories all the better. annybody looking for old mixtapes i have about 500 on my myspace page converted to mp3 and all free. all from 1990 to 1999. you name it......it thers. check my blogs..thats tbe link...search justin frehs on myspace if ya want them. enjoy!

  • So Fever in b-more had a 10yr anniversary party this last weekend. I heard it was off the hook! Lots of old faces and just like old times. Too bad I moved out to SF or I would have been the first in line. I'm sure it was another 5 block line like it used to be too!

  • I think the scene kinda killed itself. I'm now waiting for the reincarnation...

Those were the best times of my life really and only other old school ravers understand.

  • Anyone have videos or photos of Fever in Philadlphia? As much as you guys miss Fever in Baltimore, I miss Fever in Philly.

  • damn.. i used to go to Fever in Philly all the time..

Me and this Blonde Chic Julie used to hit it up every week ..

i liked the Dance Floor .. if i remember correctly.. it was plastic tile and i used to bring Baby Powder to sprinkle on the Dance Floor so my Sneakers would just glide when dancing..

The Back room they would play Hip-Hop with people smoking their Ganja ..

You remember 14/15 or Revival in Philly ?

    Or the "it" parties ?

  • I went to A Rave Called Happiness in 1996. It was supposed to be in Philly but got moved to Allentown, PA. Really good party!

  • I lived in Baltimore and went to Fever and Rise (& Buzz) more times than I can count or remember in the 90's when everything (clubs, music, djs) was so fuckin hot - but now I live in Philly, and its 2008. I never heard of Philly Fever. . . Is there anyplace good to go out to in 2008 in Philly?

  • I couldn't tell ya where to go. I live in Florida these days.

  • *walks in using cane* haha, nice thank you for this. Brings back a lot of memories!

  • @YesheGyatso HA-HA! I feel the same. I used to go to Fever and Buzz and various private parties back around 95-97. I keep having this fantasy of driving by a deserted place one night and hearing loud techno and seeing laser lights and whatnot. Then I pull over, get out, and let it rip till the sun comes up. It's been so long, but the memories are still pretty fresh.

  • Buzz, Rise, Fever, SundayMass, Ultraworld!! You had to be there to know what it was like! Thank you for binging me back

  • to the iiivillatrix guy - youtube won't let me comment your page so I have to do it here I didn't see your Feb. comment til just now....seriously, it was my first. Yay.

    Thank you ;-}

    Pax!

  • yea.. YouTube is really slow & glitzy lately..

it takes about a day before any of my Comments show up .. sometimes they don't even show up ..

i'll try and add you to see if that helps..

(just an excuse to add a hot chic as a friend)

    :)

  • Wow those were the days! I had some of the best times of my life @ fever & Rise :)

  • I agree, this isnt all that back in the day! The footage brought back so many good memories though! I wish I could go back -

1992-1999 best parties I ever went to! I miss Fever and Mass!

  • AHHH! Rise, Fever, Buzz, Bassrush, Ultraworld!! Those were the days! Even though it is dead-long live the OG Bmore/DC ravers! :)

  • I share your soul. Passage to the Ultraworld was my FIRST party.

  • 1992- 1994 was where "rave" was at. I remember going to Fever in '93 and hearing Scott Henry and Greg Sargent for the first time. Changed my brain. I haven't been to a club or party since 2001. Rave is dead.

  • i remember Greg Sargent!

What ever happened to DJ Who ?

and ur correct.. the Rave Scene has died years ago.. these days i go out for the music .. . The Rave Scene has instilled Electronica into my Soul ... i'll probably listen to Drum 'N Bass when im 60 :)

  • Not in San Francisco! They do it right in this fuckin city. Always have! I miss the old days on the east coast, but that's why we moved west!

  • fever! ah, the memories. good old paradox next to the train tracks. i spent many long nights dancing there :)

  • There was a free Halloween Party there on year.. but by the time we got there.. it was full .. so my friends and i went around back.. hopped through the Lumber Yard in the back.. then climbed and jumped the Barbed Wire Fence to get in.. Security Grabbed us and let us stay :)

  • Haha!!!

    Sweet!

I used to drive from Philadelphia to Club Rise in Baltimore every Friday Night..

Then on Sunday Mornings.. go back down for Sunday Mass!

Scott Henry, Feelgood, Karl K, DJ Who..

Club Orpheus for After Hours ?? Remember ?

    The Good Old Days...

The Best Dancers can be found there..

  • I was wondering if anyone would remember Sunday Mass or Orpheus! Wow- talk about memories.... are we really that old now? LOL Anyway, thanks for the brief flashback!

  • i know ! it seems like yesterday ..

    let's be frank .. we're all adults here ..

is it just me or were the "E"s there the best ? Might just be my imagination. ..

i remember this big tall black dude @ Rise .. who had these capsules he called "Pure" .. and for 25 dollars.. i used to roll for 8 f@ckin' hours..

These days.. "E" barely last 30 mins.. LoL!

  • You would be talking about half-moons:)

  • i think so.. they had sooo many names for them.. all i know is they were came in Capsules .. then we opened it up and either snorted it or parachuted it ..

  • nice! a parachute! havnt heard that inawhile. Buzz Fever SundayMass UltraWorld collect. 96!!

  • Oh, Lord, I can't believe anyone's still talking about the half moons.

  • *smile* I was there, and it is one of the most special memories of my life.

  • Yes. I am totally attracted to you now.

  • likewise !

  • Listen, who gives a shit about who knows what about "back in the day"???

Isn't it just about how much we loved the place, and how much we would do anything for it to be back? From now on people need to stop worrying about the old and new school, and focus more on being a part of the true school.

  • You can tell from the clothes that this was not too far back in the day. Lots of regular street clothes.

Thanks for the Remedy shout out -- that was my party and it's hard to find people who still remember it.

  • I remember Remedy! at the vault bank!

  • I consider "back the day day" to be 93, 94, 95...those were the years....SUpercal had just started doing lights @ the RAve Tent @ the HFStival....Fever was rockin'! Fever, then the next Thursday was Remedy (for the Fever of course ;-} @ the Bank.....how about Friday nights, Rise? Hells yes. ANd the stuuuuupid fukken cloud watching parties. Blech. I actually even miss the BAss Rush parties @ The Edge. I am an old head, from yes, back in the day ~~~~~~~~~

    Widowdesign~

  • Hells Yes!! Rise! Once, not everyone who came was an expressed raver, but there were also metalheads, dragqueens, frat boys, and ghetto kids all coming together and getting doused in the crunchiest pounding of rhythm in the grimey-est of warehouse clubs. Rise was my indoctrination to the culture and still the biggest mind-blower.

  • sunday morning mass.

  • AAAAAAAAAH. Cloudwatch was mah shit.

  • Ah yes, the cloud watchin' parties were cool, I just wanted to get my groove on @ all times back then & the cloud watchy stuff moved too slowly for me. Please forgive my bitterness from 9 months ago. Cloudies were fun for the subtle, but alas, I suffered fantastic shivers of ADD back then, so, you know: ON THE CONSTANT MOVE was my game back then. I'm Medicated for it now. Thank you to Lonnie F., DJ Feelgood, Donnie Burlin, Jason Story aka F. Hartung, DJ Sun. You awesome fukkers know who you are~

  • fever closed in '97 and then reopended in '99. This was a promotional video for Fever. I guess since it's almost a decade ago, it could be called "back in the day". but as most of us know, back in the day means anything prior to '96. I can't believe how fast the time went.

  • this was so totally not back in the day, how about some footage before it closed down.

shit i was at every fever even when it reopened.

aside from the breakdancing alot of the other footage shows how baltimore itself outgrew fever. The whole college mega bar club idea just started around 2000, then power plant live opened.

Baltimore changed alot between 97 and 2000 when fever reopened. I respect scot and charles for closing it appropriately.

  • What do you mean that was not back in the day? Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm thinking that footage was back around 96-97-maybe 98. It's been so long since I've been out. The entire scene change around '99-2000 everywhere stateside. I started djing, producing, and promoting around 98, the scene peaked around that time, and took a change for the worse. So to me, that was "back in the day".

  • I miss that place too. Good times back in the day.

  • Great Vid! I used to go there back in 1996. I miss those days soo bad. Whatever happened to Sunday Mass in D.C.? I moved to Columbus in '97 and haven't been back to the Baltimore/D.C. area since.

  • sunday mass was in not in DC, it was in Baltimore just like fever. and all that shit got shut down around the same time in 97. so there wasn't much of a reason to go back. things started to pick in DC in the early 2000's, but could never be the way it was. and this video is shot from the first reopening in '99. i recogonize Libby who was wearing the fuzzy leg warmers and the one b-boy with the blue jersey and big hat.
