I know that at least in the UK, people with type I diabetics or other patients with illnesses that can cause loss of consciousness (like people that have a history of anaphylactic shocks for example) do wear a medallion or bracelet, which contains a summary of their personal information, description of the disease and a number you might call. The "problem" is that these items are quite small.
LMAO....."Police should be schooled".... these fat ass clowns were never schooled thats why they became cops. They didn't get an education and being a cop was the only choice. After they fail the test to become port-o-let cleaners and get tired of sucking cock at truck stops for beer money they join "the force".
If he was having diabetic shock, police were wrong to use force? If he wasn't having diabetic shock, police were right to use force? How were they to know? If some guy walks into bank to rob it, police aren't going to say "hmm maybe this guy is just diabetic." Basically what it boils down to its the guys fault for not taking care of himself. This is a lesson to people who have diabetes to follow medical advice and take control your diabetes not let it control u Maybe hes lucky police found him
If he tried giving himself an insulin shot while he was driving he'd probably cause an accident. Perhaps he couldn't pull over and the symptoms kicked in quickly - the more sick one becomes, the less control one has over the situation. I agree with the commentary: victim blaming due to a just world hypothesis viewpoint. Btw getting shot is one of the occupational hazards of bank robbing (but not driving, typically), if one is allergic to it I'd highly recommend a different career.
@gamerunknown Police dont drag someone out of a car and tazer them cause they are just sitting in their car, so we can assume there must have been a confrontation between the driver and the police prior to the recording. Not troll but it is works in anyone's favor who argues police brutality that it just so happens the confrontation is conveniently not included in this video.I know some diabetics that can get pretty nasty when they are having a diabetic fit So lets see the entire video and audio
I don't think it was mentioned, but hyperglycaemia has similar symptoms to hypoglycaemia when it becomes severe enough to warrant police intervention (namely, stupor). I don't recall if they said which end of the spectrum it was, but it would be more likely to be hypoglycaemia (reaching for sweets has caused pile-ups before) if he was driving for a long period of time. Yes, he could have taken precautions, but it's still hardly his conscious decision to go into shock either way.
@bobbob12g Do YOU have diabetes? Do you know how to "take control" over diabetes? Even if you follow every medical advice there is, accidents happen. Also, should diabetics who end up with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar-levels, can lead to death) not only fear the consequences of that but also brutal policeforce? Where's the logic in that?
@majakovskij61 Yes I know how to take control over diabetes: check your blood sugar level regularly. He should bring his monitoring log book to court with him to prove hes followed medical advice of his doctor. If it is lacking information, he will be questioned about that during the trial.Im curious to see what is in the log for that day. Also,do you think many people can walk when they are in "severe diabetic shock" like how this guy did? Why dont we see the beginning of the tape?Hmmm. You decide.
So you want to blame the victim of this situation. What you don't seem to understand is that even though you check your blood sugar regularly, accidents happen. And also, maybe it's different in the US, but where I live, it's not criminal to have a bad control of your diabetes (you can however lose your driving license).
It is perfectly possible to walk even though you have low blood sugar, I've done it. But it depends on how low and it's also different from person to person.
@majakovskij61 He should have been eating some cookies or cupcakes or something while he was driving so he wouldnt get a diabetes attack. The police should have also checked his glucos level before they pulled him out of the car.All police should learn to check peoples glucose level before they arrest they so they can make certain they do not have some diabetes virus in their bodies. in the video the police probally just revoked his license arrested him for not having a license.
Diabetes virus in their bodies? Eh,your lack of knowledge is disturbing, since you have so firm beliefs on what should've been done.Diabetes is NOT a virus, even if it in the future would be seen as a virus it's completely idiotic to regard it as a virus at the moment. Yeahyeah he should have done this and he should have done that, but thats not the point, the point is that the police aren't behaving in a humane way. Some people doesnt know when theyre gonna have a "diabetes attack."
unbelievable, Mr Liberal you are totally wrong. They did not take sides with the cops. They simply commented on the incident. Another political jerk trying to make a mountain out of a molehill is what you are.
Slowly, people ARE starting to realize what Fox and other media outlets are all about... It's time for the News to be News again. 3 part solution: 1. Every channel must provide a 1 hour News program WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. 2. News programs should not be rated by any Ratings system. 3. All News Channels live by the same rules, but are "Pay TV" for revenues as opposed to advertising.
man thats fucked up ppl i mean a diabetic should not have to show a sign saying they are a diabetic might as well make shitty laws like for a kid that wets the bed are u going to make a law saying that kid has to wear a shirt or anything telling everyone he wets the bed if we every go that low in our government then man our gov has hit rock bottom and i will personaly shoot myself
I know you made your comment a while ago, but I just wanted to add my feeings to it.
It is true that I heard not a single word said anything to justify the officers' actions, and "the lady news anchor" did sound fairly shocked, but I'm going to guess that you aren't a regular viewer from the fact you know none of their names. For every story, the lady here always plays the "shocked and appalled (sic?)" role, and the guys... they never add to the topic. Not one of them is a reporter.
When the cop says "Sir, stop resisting" he sounds like he's acting, not struggling with a violent man. Listen to his blasé, insincere tone. You'd have to be cold-blooded to act like that while attacking an unarmed person. Sickening.
Do you have a hearing problem? Tthe Fox News crew did not try to justify Cops action. But we knew that would be your opinion by just reading your name LiberalViewer. And the weather man didn't suggest that Diabetics HAVE to wear anything. Did you also hear the sympathy from the lady news anchor in the first 1/2 of the report; plus she says once the policy found out that he was in shock he is rushed to the hospital. I think Liberals must all have a perception problem - geeeez.
@tubing08w I guess it's a way interpreting it. But however sympathetic she is for the victim, she never questions the use of the taser. Any unbiased journalist (or person) would have questioned the unrequested use of violence. She doesn't and she does justify the cops' behavior by talking about a hypothetical threat. So in the end it was all bad luck (again).
cops are dicks, they are too trigger happy. i am a diabetic. i dont carry anything to say so, maybe i should. people react differently to hypos(low blood sugars), i can be moody, look drunk, and be aggressive if my bloods go low. fortunately for me i have always been ok whilst in my car, i would rather have a higher blood sugar level whilst behind the wheel.
ive noticed that 200- 300 people have thumb down all his videos even thou the views vary from 4000 view to 10,000 persific people are doing this to all his videos
Cops are using tasers to treat people they percieve need treatment. As though they are doctors curing the ills of society by administering electroshock therapy.
ARE WE NOW TO CONSIDER COPS DOCTORS?
Human physiology is not compatible with passing electric charges, many people have died as a result.
So, whether he shot with a 45, or a taser.... His intent was to kill, or in the least, put this persons life in great jeopardy.
It's 40,000 volts. BUT volts don't do anything without wattage behind it. I could touch a live wire with a billion volts and no watts and I won't feel anything but a hum and buzz.
It has 4 one-hundredths of 1 watt. Your wall socket has more.
The difference between your wall socket and this is the current....it is the same wavelength as the human nervous system...causing no damage but will not let you use skeletal muscles.
And also... when the officers must taser a women in childbirth, they should also taser the newborn in case it is a terrorist - better safe than sorry.
the guy in this video was actually wearing a medicalert necklace as stated by the police officer in the apology statement so the newsreaders who are saying that he should be wearing something HE WAS!!! and he obviously wasnt resisting ive been that level of blood sugar before you're in no state to stand, speak or even see properly dont know how you could resist tbh
Bunch of bastards. This is why people just try to stay away from the police, the are out of their mind.
And it's nice on the tape when they say ''STOP RESISTING, STOP RESISTING, STOP RESISTING'' They say this only to protect their behind. So when they get sued, they defend themselves by saying that the person was resisting, they had no choice, he or she was resisting. He was resisting!!! So they just continue to play cowboy.
Hypoglycemia, and hyperglycemia can both alter a persons mental status, can make them appear drunk, or appear to be on drugs, can make them violent, can do anything, when they're in that state of mind, there's no telling what they can do, and you can't tell right off back just by looking at the person, you think everytime a cop pulls someone over, or in this case already stopped in a weird way, that they are going to take a d-stick sample?.. i don't think so.
I've been watching your videos, and as a Canadian.. I can barely take FOX seriously.. and I'm suprised that americans still watch this smut.. I had a conversation with an ignorant american redneck the other day who said Obama was a socialist.. when I asked him why he said 'uum.. uhh'. And he said yes when I asked him if FOX was his main source of news lol...... I think making these videos is almost redundant because im getting the impression that some americans are more than ok with being dumb..
@VinzZissou78 This is one of the only times where I actually don't agree with LiberalViewer. I think the Fox anchors make a halfway-valid point. There's really no good way to tell a diabetic under shock from a drunk driver from the POV of a cop. A bumper sticker, or a license plate is probably not a bad idea, and it could save lives and keep incidents like this from happening.
The tazer was too far, but again, how were the cops supposed to know?
I agree. If he was unresponsive and sitting there, he would not be tasered. If, as in this situation, was actively kicking and swinging at the cops (hitting a deputy twice), he gets tasered. That is proper use of a taser - to subdue someone with less than lethal force which causes no injury and prevents the actively resisting person from injuring themselves or others.
Tasers are supposed to be used on combative suspects. People who are truly resisting arrest. They are not supposed to be used on a non-threatening, non-responsive people who are not threat to the police. These two skunk officers should have called an ambulance and had him transported to the hospital even if they thought he was drunk. If he was drunk to the point of passing out, he would have needed medical treatment and they could have drawn blood to determine what his blood level was.
Dont be stupid , they did not side with the cops, they were thinking of ways to lower the chances of accidental tazer usage, though he is not to blame, the man ought to have had his necklace visible, a simple mistake on the cops part. Trust me, there was NO bias towards any side.
Hehehe, he said he googled (great source) a CBS (another great "impartial" source)...ahem, an "actual CBS reporter" (another mutually exclusive term) to get an opinion on an editiable (another great source) website.
Guess your law practice fell apart if you bring that type of defense into court for your clients.....BUT JUDGE, I GOOGLED IT, ITS GOTTA BE TRUE!
The officers asked the man to exit the car. They began assisting him out of the car when he started swinging at them. If you had the whole video, which you should have googled instead of some CBS story, you would have seen the cops being swung at with the driver's closed fists.
We won't even go into how the driver has a drivers license restriction that says he must have food or candy with him or he is breaking the law.
@joe4951 how many years of stretches til you could get your head that far up your ass?
blind followers of the mainstream media like you is what allows cops to pull this shit, when fox reports on the health benefits of dicks in the butt, im sure youll be the first to show up at glenn becks sausage fiesta
Cops saved his life. Without them, his blood sugar would have gone lower than its level of TWENTY and he would have died. It's a good thing cops got to him when they did. Otherwise he would be needing a coffin and a funeral instead of a bandaid.
@joe4951 Or perhaps the tazering could have caused his blood sugar to go even more amok, possibly killing him anyway? What flippin' fight was he doing to deserve a tazing?
An electric current doesn't make your blood sugar go up or down. Don't know where you got that.
The fight was driving 90-100 mph the WRONG way on a busy highway, then kicking an officer in the face. All of this is in the FULL video and the report, which are both available per the Freedom of Information Act. You should request these items, and you will see it was the best thing to do in that situation.
I would be more worried about your lack of an ability to form a basic argument. Your gay tendencies within your posts worry me too, but that's a whole different matter.
Your comment about drivers license restrictions is incorrect. I am type 1 and there are no requirements to have any sort of restriction having to do with sugar. Please do your research a little better and "then decide"
WRONG AGAIN. Oklahoma Driver's License Restriction Type "6" - "Food, fruit, or candy within reach of driver." A simple google search will help you pull up the November 2010 edition of the Oklahoma Drivers Manual through the DPS website.
You probably need to stop telling people to do research unless you are doing it yourself.
I should have stated i was in florida so I apologize, in 2.9 Physical & mental reqs the only thing regarding this is"If you are diabetic & use insulin, you may REQUEST that "Insulin Dependent" is indicated on your license" notice 'MAY'. I updated mine &no questions were asked . Also look up hypoglycemic unawareness or Brain desensitization. As for Oklahoma your right, if he is insulin dependent. However, You don't always know when you are in a low state or even getting close to it
No problem. It is important to note that a drunk and a diabetic coma are almost identical in nature and very very very very very very very hard to tell the difference. Slurred speech, unsteady on feet, fine motor skills compromised, sometimes a fighter..and at 3am with wind and snow on the road and in the middle of the interstate praying they dont get hit as they removed him from the vehicle, it makes it almost impossible to tell until he's back into a controlled environment.
Fox news should have a Disclaimer, just warning to warn it's viewers, that it will always condone and support, pretty much any incident which violates civil rights. Cops with a quick temper should be fired. They have no business, in dealing with people if their first reaction is to do more harm than good.
Unfortunately I feel that the country has become a bleak atmosphere from what it once was. This stems from more than merely my perception as videos of this disturbing nature are surfacing in more abundance on an exponential bases. The only real solution is to stand up physically, mentally, spiritually and culturally, in every way AGAINST any and all government powers that be, in a collective manner, in unison, together, for the purpose of taking back our own well being of life and freedoms.
This proposition sounds like an extrememly far fetched and tall order to achieve and infact it sounds absurd. I will admit that, but also, we are faced with the truth of what is taking place before our very eyes in a more reacurring manner than ever before. The risks of waiting for the problems to be solved by our vote are our own lives. The only real power we have is our strength in numbers and unity! Unless we have both of these then we can realistically expect our lives to become even worse.
My father is diabetic and i know how serious this is... these cops must get off the streets before they kill some one with their stupidity. I wonder if a cops having an IQ test before they join the police? Stupid ppl with blue uniforms and guns and the right to use them are a danger for all the citizens
This whole War on Drugs and the mass imprisonment that has made the US the world leader in persecuting it's own citizens has damaged this country almost beyond repair. What happened to talking nice to people and treating them with respect. Cops everywhere have become more aggressive and violent. I have noticed that "can I see your license and registration please" has turned into "step out of the car and get on the ground motherF"
Remember how we were taught in school that communism was oppressive and we were lucky to live in this free country? Well now, right winger people and cops are acting like oppressive communist party members when they side with cops violating our civil liberties.
Those fucking pigs abuse their powers whenever they get a chance. There is nothing anyone can do about it cuz unless you have a video camera on you (most people dont), its your word against the cops. Democracy is dying. We do not deserve our freedom if we don't fucking defend our freedom.
The cops feel they are above the law. Brutality will only end when they start prosecuting bad cops & holding them accountable!!
I don't agree with either side. I think this is was just one of those bad 1 in a million chances. I can see both sides though. The cops should be able to recognize a diabetic shock, though at the same time the guy should not have been driving when it was possible he could go into diabetic shock. I think mistakes were made all around.
@brettsheakirk Do you think it is ok for policemen to taser a guy who is so drunk that he can barely move and poses no threat to them? They're two, he's one, they're young and healthy and fit, he's too drunk to walk. Now think a little and tell me if they should taser him. I don't understand the cops in this case. Their biggest crime here wasn't failing to recognize his illness, but using unnecessary force on him. They're criminals.
@brettsheakirk if this man is a type 2 dibetic he cannot effectively control his blood glucose level. If you belive this man should not drive because of his illness then millions of diabetics should drive then too? Causing them to lose their job or become unable to fully enjoy the life set before them. Will you next see the people whom suffer from strokes lose the earned privilages?
Tasing him was a little over the top but think about this: if you were a cop trained to subdue crimnals when you belive you could be in some sort of danger and the person you are trying to arrest looks like they are in a drunken stupor and are resisting arrest, what the hell would you do? It makes sense but its a shame they didnt realize he was in shock earlier
I agree with snarfels, it makes sense for the cops to pull over and attempt to arrest a man going through diabetic shock if they couldn't recognize the disease affecting him and thought he was drunk.
This is so wrong, I remember when this happened. Cops are trigger happy and can't wait to have the chance to abuse their power. They will use any excuse to put their hands on someone.
Tasers should never have been brought into use by law enforcement, but the people are taking a nap and will wake up to a nightmare as this insanity progresses.
fox sux,and no it dont matter who or what u are have or anything,no he should not be forced to wear something, maybe fucking cops should treat people like fucking humans not like they treat there kids, like fucking dogs
i am a type two diabetic , and when you go into diabetic shock , you have no clue as to what is going on around you , i had a light stroke also while driving , caused by my diabetes and i had no clue as to what was happening to me . I did make it home and didnt have an accident , but it could have been tragic if my stroke had caused me to have an accident .
A "Don't tase me bro" T-shirt? Come on, that's not realistic.
Instead, I think diabetics should all be forced to either wear blue hats, or, have their eyebrows shaved off, making them instantly recognisable!
Whilst we are at it, gays should be forced to do this too. Maybe we could force to Jews to get tattooed as well, I doubt that's ever been done before?
what the police did was worng!!!! look i'm a diabetic and that could happen to anyone!! but there no need for a taser. ther were 3 cops there all of them were trying to get the man out of his car. why did they use the taser for? you mean to tell me that all 3 cops could't get this man out!!! and hes a diabetic wow!! this why you allways look before you act!! i know cops have a hard job allready but you can tell the differnts okay!!! (but thas just me)
he SHOULD of said something about being a diabetic n NOT resisted arrest do i feel sorry for the guy yes n no. no because he resisted arrest. yes because he is a diabetic. 2. wheres the whole video of this?? so u can get all of the story he should of stoped instead of driving away.
first off your a dumbass liberalviewer because this is not a right left issue. This is about police brutality which is more likley to happen under liberal reign then conservative. Any reason to bash the right will be a good one. You sheep who argue among party lines or vote along them, should be the ones to lose your freedoms.
People in diabetic shock are usually unable to talk or even function as well as someone whom is drunk. as a EMT everytime but once when I have encountered them their heads are always slumped, and once something would happen to cause anxiety, such as getting pulled over or cops screaming, they shut down completely. Its not hard to tell.. Cops forget that their main weapons are their voice. they are all too happy about their tasers. If you cant observe under stress, you dont need a badge.
@PerSpes They used their voice plenty of times and when that did not work they increased the force. Would you be willing to bet you life by making a quick judgement on a dark highway wither someone is drunk, diabetic, or on drugs? And in all three situations the individual is still very unpredicable and dangerous. The public will never learn.
@phantomjay0 Hoo rah phantomjay, I know The Taser is always a good substitue and nearly always safe, the public will never learn, thats why us that have some sense usually just keep quiet, but those officers had no resistance, and no signs of any aggression. And you most likely are "the public", its really just takes experience.
@PerSpes Are you going to debate intelligently or attack? When you have a logical and intelligent rebuttal for my initial comment let me know but sarcasm and personal attacks instead of educational discussions are too plentifull to deal with everyone like yourself.
I know that cops deal in life or death situations. And I respect that. But I think we have all seen our share of police corruption or abuse of power. I think what Liberalviewer is trying to say is that the FoxNews channel still fully supported the tasering AFTER the fact, when they knew this man was sick. They were totally faulting this innocent sick man.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I seriously doubt that the cops knew this guy was in diabetic shock, and just pretended to act like he was drunk so they could try out their taser. It seem's pretty unlikely to me. And the fox anchors didn't support the use of a taser against this guy either, they just said that it was bad and a misunderstanding, which it was. It pisses me off how hard people like liberalviewer will twist situations to bash people they don't like.
snarfels "I seriously doubt that the cops knew this guy was in diabetic shock, and just pretended to act like he was drunk so they could try out their taser"
That's a strawman (so YOU "twist") when the issue is police TASERing unarmed people, like this man, who are noncompliant but not an active immediate threat which a federal court recently prohibited. See tinyurl(.)com/y953tj8
It's just obvious here b/c of the medical condition. And, Fox supported it at 1:07 and 1:25
Very simple dear friend, although it may have been prohibited by a federal court, the police officers were not acting irrationally over overly aggressive. Cops deal with shit every day that neither you nor i could comprehend. Police are not fucking omnipitent, they don't know if someone is armed or not. If someone looks like they may be under the influence, and wont respond but stay in their car fidgeting around, their first thought would most likely be they are going for a weapon.
And you are really stretching it. The picture you are trying to paint is a lot different than what really happened. It was a misunderstanding, and of course thats all fox news was saying it was ( in addition to how hard a cops life must be having to sort through staying alive and doing their job, and identifying extremely similar symptoms of different things). But as a dumbass you feel that somehow makes them supporters of unlawful or immoral use of a taser.
@LiberalViewer Have you noticed the typical Fox News editing of this clip? First they show the cops tasering the guy - he's clearly on the ground when they do so, and then they quickly cut to the guy being pulled out of the car to make it appear as if the tasering happened BEFORE he was under control of the cops.
Diabetes is a hazardous handicap to vehicle operators, this is a controversial issue, however I feel that it is a condition that should void a driving licence.
I'm a type one diabetic and that women that said. I should have to have something on my car pisst me off mabey the cops should use there training but what do I know I'm 12 ps love the show
Wow I remember this. I agree that the cop shouldnt have tasered him, they have three guys on scene. I believe in tasers and "non lethal'' weapons, and because the are such things, they also shouldnt be used so quickly.
the guy talking your not a fucking cop you dont know what they do what life is like for cops we give cops the power to make the distions so we dont have to the job is dangers is your? no i think not so shut the fuck up
@PatricioBridges you can support the cops all you want. but if i am minding by own business and my uncontrollable syndrome makes me super sick, i don't want to be arrested.
this should have never hapenned in the first place and the blame does NOT go to the poor guy with a medical issue. police need to be held to a far higher standard. end of story
Ok, lesson 101 on cop survival, make sure the subject is detained (in cuffs) for your safety and the safety of others before you get into questions. Those cops rolled up on a guy parked in the street, the guy would not exit the vehicle and appeared to resist arrest. What should they do? Stop and ask if he is in need of medical help? What if he WAS intoxicated and reaching for a gun? Its sad when things like this happen, but I have to side with the cops on this one. Rather them safe than dead.
I watch FOX alot, but I do agree that they shouldn't be tasering people unless the supposed suspect is becoming violent and is trying to cause physical bodily harm to the officer. Just because the suspect is refusing to do something (such as placing there hands behind their backs) isn't a warrant for using a possibly lethal weapons. There is a risk of electrocution when a high voltage comes through your body, whether it be from a lightning strike, touching power lines, or being tased.
I think you said you were a lawyer? Well why don't you be a cop for a day. Why don't you take the badge and the gun make traffic stops, you go on the domestics. You go and clean up the needles and baby parts and work the wrecks. When the shooting starts you can go towards that too, all the while having every thing you do put under a microscope 24/7. So while you're in your home this thanksgiving, i'll be out here on the street keeping you safe, all for 13 dollars and hour
It sounds to me like you are experiencing the early stages of PTSD, you should seek help before you kill someone.
I agree, as you should too, that everyone is not cut out to be in law enforcement.
It is a very difficult job, but not an excuse to disregard someones civil liberties, even if you are having a bad day.
I spent 16 yrs.active duty (USMC) seen 2 hot conflicts with equal amounts of ugliness. I'm not going around kicking people in the teeth because of it.
Well it would seem that we've both seen some things we'd rather not. The only thing is that this guyscivil rights were not violated, the officer's had two choices, less than lethal force or hands on. Hands on can get ugly.
Sure police officers have a job, but I disagree that most encounters need to be handled with violence. To counter the myth that tasers are non-lethal, just ask the families of those that were killed as a result, if its lethal.
You have to consider this, if 99 out of 100 survive a tasering, its still lethal to the one that died.
I can agree that most do not warrent violence however those that do have obviously given up their right of expected safety. If you step in front of an eighteen wheeler you know you're gonna get hit. If you break the law and fight the police, you're going to get hurt. Taser's give officers the ability of putting a subject down without having to put his life at risk or for the most part...the suspects.
The taser has accumulated such a bad reputation, due to irresponsible officers seeking amusement, that it outweighs the few cases where it use was legitimate.
IMO if someone is tased (punished), for non-compliance, then a judge should hear the case as an officer conduct review hearing. The subject should not be forced to face charges. Its double jeopardy.
They are not used as punishment, they are a means of subdueing an otherwise unruley subject in order to protect that officer's safety. The taser is as irreplacable pepper spray and when it comes down to it you have either a gun, spray/taser, or a baton. When my father was an officer he was sued for breaking a man's knee cap with a baton because he hit him while the suspect was trying to stab him. Perhaps you don't know what it is like to be scrutinized all of the time.
You make a good argument for the initial purpose and responsible use of the taser, but can we agree on the reality that "responsible use" is not always the case.
I recently witnessed seasoned and ranked officers, comparing humorous taser victims reaction stories, as if it were a contest. Then I watch this man tasered for suffering from a medical condition. There are many others, kid falls over bridge, broken back , gets tasered...
@gmcmudder1 Are you seriously insinuating that police officers use tasers for enjoyment purposes? You're seriously a deranged individual and have no idea what dangers police officers go through every day. In many instances where tasers were used, deadly force would have also been a justifiable option.
For your information, "non-lethal weapon" is an oxymoron. there is no such beast.
As for you... You should get a little more life experience, before you attempt to interrupt adult conversations. By the way, have you visited your local USMC recruiting office, it will help you get your head right.....MAGGOT
For we are the ones who provide you with that warm and comfortable feeling that you experience when you go to sleep at night...
LiberalViewer, seriously what is wrong with you? How are police officers suppose to know the difference? Especially while things such as "the suspect is resisting" is on their mind. Yes blame cops first, the true liberal stance
But the question is what threat could this man possibly be posing to have to use the taser and be ripped from his car as you can see in the video the guy can barely even move lol.
TruthsImage If police do nothing and the man is drunk, he can easily just drive off, on the way possibly killing or injuring civilians. Dont forget the vehicle can also be used as a weapon, and as a public defender LiberalViewer should know this, but now knowing where he worked I can see how he is so good with forgetting or twisting facts
Ok but you defend the police yet they taser him when he is no longer in the car.... I understand what your saying tho but he is no threat at all and the cops are supposed to undergo training to spot this arent they?.
TruthsImage Ok I will answer to one question at a time.
When suspect is resisting, as they thought he was, they are allowed to apply any non lethal force to protect themselves in the event that fight might break out.
Yes they are taught to recognize such things, but cops are human and in the high stress situations they probably didnt even think about it as such cases are rare, not to mention this was also at night. At the end they did the right thing.
So your position is "any question - any doubt" shoot them.
I sure hope for your sake, you don't get tazered, beat up and carried off to jail for what started off as a tag light out, and later the magic pen places you in front of a judge with resisting arrest and assault on a P/O, because in his regular course stomping a mud hole in yourass, YOUR pelvic bone damaged the finish on his shoe.
gmcmudder1 "shoot them?" Has anyone got shot? NO, so please do not try to dramatize the whole situation. And yes when in doubt WHETHER YOUR LIFE IS THREATENED a few shocks will not kill anyone.
If a tasering in and of it self does not prove lethal to someone that suffers from one of many medical issues, (asthma, epilepsy, and many heart related conditions) then the uncontrolled fall while being tasered surely could.
Hypothetical scenario,
No your honor, the taser didn't kill him, it was the high speed traffic that he was jolted in front of that caused his death....
Maybe the next time the man in the video goes into diabetic shock he should call 911, rather than get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Kinda dangerous for everyone else don't ya think?
The Fox news anchors were getting at "how could they have know?" I'm sure a doctor would've thought the guy was black-out drunk too!
Totally. That's one of the drawbacks in text: the tone may sound way different to someone reading it, than it did to the one who wrote it. Thanks for being understanding. I have not seen the training video. I'll check it out, though. I'm subscribed to the copsoutofcontrol channel- it's probably on there. In Iraq, I can understand, in a war zone, how things are way more fucked up and out of control, but Abu Ghraib was ridiculous. The beheadings, in response, were worse.
Fox News does only what Big Brother tells them to do.

This is quite amazing
I know that at least in the UK, people with type I diabetics or other patients with illnesses that can cause loss of consciousness (like people that have a history of anaphylactic shocks for example) do wear a medallion or bracelet, which contains a summary of their personal information, description of the disease and a number you might call. The "problem" is that these items are quite small.

This is a lesson to people who have diabetes to follow medical advice and take control your diabetes not let it control u Maybe hes lucky police found him
bobbob12g 4 months ago
@bobbob12g
Btw getting shot is one of the occupational hazards of bank robbing (but not driving, typically), if one is allergic to it I'd highly recommend a different career.
gamerunknown 3 months ago in playlist Fox News Bias
@gamerunknown Police dont drag someone out of a car and tazer them cause they are just sitting in their car, so we can assume there must have been a confrontation between the driver and the police prior to the recording. Not troll but it is works in anyone's favor who argues police brutality that it just so happens the confrontation is conveniently not included in this video.I know some diabetics that can get pretty nasty when they are having a diabetic fit So lets see the entire video and audio
bobbob12g 3 months ago
@gamerunknown If he'd given himself an insulin shot while driving he'd be dead now.
Get your facts straight. It seems he had hypoglycemia (low blood-sugar levels), insulin would lower the blood-sugar even more.
majakovskij61 3 months ago
@majakovskij61
Yes, he could have taken precautions, but it's still hardly his conscious decision to go into shock either way.
gamerunknown 3 months ago
@gamerunknown
I know it's different from person to person, but generally speaking hypoglycemia is sudden and can be hard to predict.
Common symptoms of hyperglycemia are SEVERE pain in stomach and constant vomiting. It's kinda unpractical to drive a car with those symptoms.
majakovskij61 3 months ago
@bobbob12g Do YOU have diabetes? Do you know how to "take control" over diabetes? Even if you follow every medical advice there is, accidents happen. Also, should diabetics who end up with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar-levels, can lead to death) not only fear the consequences of that but also brutal policeforce? Where's the logic in that?
majakovskij61 3 months ago
@majakovskij61 Yes I know how to take control over diabetes: check your blood sugar level regularly. He should bring his monitoring log book to court with him to prove hes followed medical advice of his doctor. If it is lacking information, he will be questioned about that during the trial.Im curious to see what is in the log for that day. Also,do you think many people can walk when they are in "severe diabetic shock" like how this guy did? Why dont we see the beginning of the tape?Hmmm. You decide.
bobbob12g 3 months ago
@bobbob12g
But it depends on how low and it's also different from person to person.
majakovskij61 3 months ago
@majakovskij61 He should have been eating some cookies or cupcakes or something while he was driving so he wouldnt get a diabetes attack. The police should have also checked his glucos level before they pulled him out of the car.All police should learn to check peoples glucose level before they arrest they so they can make certain they do not have some diabetes virus in their bodies. in the video the police probally just revoked his license arrested him for not having a license.
bobbob12g 3 months ago
@bobbob12g

He was chased for about 12 miles the wrong way on the main 4 lane highway at speeds above 90-100, then he kicked an officer in the face.

I think Liberals must all have a perception problem - geeeez.
tubing08w 1 year ago
@tubing08w I guess it's a way interpreting it. But however sympathetic she is for the victim, she never questions the use of the taser. Any unbiased journalist (or person) would have questioned the unrequested use of violence. She doesn't and she does justify the cops' behavior by talking about a hypothetical threat. So in the end it was all bad luck (again).

His intent was to kill, or in the least, put this persons life in great jeopardy.
zdamienz 1 year ago
@zdamienz
Educate yourself on the current of the taser.

VinzZissou78 1 year ago
@VinzZissou78 This is one of the only times where I actually don't agree with LiberalViewer. I think the Fox anchors make a halfway-valid point. There's really no good way to tell a diabetic under shock from a drunk driver from the POV of a cop. A bumper sticker, or a license plate is probably not a bad idea, and it could save lives and keep incidents like this from happening.
The tazer was too far, but again, how were the cops supposed to know?
TehKign12356 1 year ago
@TheUnknownchicken
I agree. If he was unresponsive and sitting there, he would not be tasered. If, as in this situation, was actively kicking and swinging at the cops (hitting a deputy twice), he gets tasered. That is proper use of a taser - to subdue someone with less than lethal force which causes no injury and prevents the actively resisting person from injuring themselves or others.
joe4951 1 year ago
@TheUnknownchicken
I agree. In this case, however, he was actively resisting officer by swinging at them, hitting two of them in the face, as well as kicking at them.

A five second jolt of .0002 watts does not make your pancreas instantly drop your blood sugar from 100ish to 20ish.
Fighting as in punching an officer twice in the face, kicking officers, swinging at officers, etc.

Unless we have both of these then we can realistically expect our lives to become even worse.

first off your a dumbass liberalviewer because this is not a right left issue. This is about police brutality which is more likley to happen under liberal reign then conservative. Any reason to bash the right will be a good one. You sheep who argue among party lines or vote along them, should be the ones to lose your freedoms.

yes I suppose that wearing a badge makes you all knowing and they can tell the difference between diabetic shock and drunkeness which
they come in contact with much more.
godsfiddler 2 years ago
People in diabetic shock are usually unable to talk or even function as well as someone whom is drunk. as a EMT everytime but once when I have encountered them their heads are always slumped, and once something would happen to cause anxiety, such as getting pulled over or cops screaming, they shut down completely. Its not hard to tell.. Cops forget that their main weapons are their voice. they are all too happy about their tasers. If you cant observe under stress, you dont need a badge.
PerSpes 2 years ago 29
@PerSpes They used their voice plenty of times and when that did not work they increased the force. Would you be willing to bet you life by making a quick judgement on a dark highway wither someone is drunk, diabetic, or on drugs? And in all three situations the individual is still very unpredicable and dangerous. The public will never learn.
phantomjay0 1 year ago
@phantomjay0 Hoo rah phantomjay, I know The Taser is always a good substitue and nearly always safe, the public will never learn, thats why us that have some sense usually just keep quiet, but those officers had no resistance, and no signs of any aggression. And you most likely are "the public", its really just takes experience.
PerSpes 1 year ago
@PerSpes Are you going to debate intelligently or attack? When you have a logical and intelligent rebuttal for my initial comment let me know but sarcasm and personal attacks instead of educational discussions are too plentifull to deal with everyone like yourself.
phantomjay0 1 year ago
I am a diabetic, but i live in sweden so the police know that i am sick when they pull me over, it is in their computer.
But to have medical journals accessable to the police you need to trust the police, US citizen and US police doesnt seem to have that trust.
And i think that is sad, after all the police are public servicemen, it means they are a service proffession and should act as one.
Gripen1974 2 years ago 2
I know that cops deal in life or death situations. And I respect that. But I think we have all seen our share of police corruption or abuse of power. I think what Liberalviewer is trying to say is that the FoxNews channel still fully supported the tasering AFTER the fact, when they knew this man was sick. They were totally faulting this innocent sick man.
Megpie1983 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
I seriously doubt that the cops knew this guy was in diabetic shock, and just pretended to act like he was drunk so they could try out their taser. It seem's pretty unlikely to me. And the fox anchors didn't support the use of a taser against this guy either, they just said that it was bad and a misunderstanding, which it was. It pisses me off how hard people like liberalviewer will twist situations to bash people they don't like.
snarfels 2 years ago
snarfels "I seriously doubt that the cops knew this guy was in diabetic shock, and just pretended to act like he was drunk so they could try out their taser"
That's a strawman (so YOU "twist") when the issue is police TASERing unarmed people, like this man, who are noncompliant but not an active immediate threat which a federal court recently prohibited. See tinyurl(.)com/y953tj8
It's just obvious here b/c of the medical condition. And, Fox supported it at 1:07 and 1:25
Thx 4 commenting :-)
LiberalViewer 2 years ago 12
Very simple dear friend, although it may have been prohibited by a federal court, the police officers were not acting irrationally over overly aggressive. Cops deal with shit every day that neither you nor i could comprehend. Police are not fucking omnipitent, they don't know if someone is armed or not. If someone looks like they may be under the influence, and wont respond but stay in their car fidgeting around, their first thought would most likely be they are going for a weapon.
snarfels 2 years ago
And you are really stretching it. The picture you are trying to paint is a lot different than what really happened. It was a misunderstanding, and of course thats all fox news was saying it was ( in addition to how hard a cops life must be having to sort through staying alive and doing their job, and identifying extremely similar symptoms of different things). But as a dumbass you feel that somehow makes them supporters of unlawful or immoral use of a taser.
snarfels 2 years ago
@LiberalViewer Have you noticed the typical Fox News editing of this clip? First they show the cops tasering the guy - he's clearly on the ground when they do so, and then they quickly cut to the guy being pulled out of the car to make it appear as if the tasering happened BEFORE he was under control of the cops.

Wow I remember this. I agree that the cop shouldnt have tasered him, they have three guys on scene. I believe in tasers and "non lethal'' weapons, and because the are such things, they also shouldnt be used so quickly.

this should have never hapenned in the first place and the blame does NOT go to the poor guy with a medical issue. police need to be held to a far higher standard. end of story
redmie7 1 year ago
Ok, lesson 101 on cop survival, make sure the subject is detained (in cuffs) for your safety and the safety of others before you get into questions. Those cops rolled up on a guy parked in the street, the guy would not exit the vehicle and appeared to resist arrest. What should they do? Stop and ask if he is in need of medical help? What if he WAS intoxicated and reaching for a gun? Its sad when things like this happen, but I have to side with the cops on this one. Rather them safe than dead.
tanis143 2 years ago
I watch FOX alot, but I do agree that they shouldn't be tasering people unless the supposed suspect is becoming violent and is trying to cause physical bodily harm to the officer. Just because the suspect is refusing to do something (such as placing there hands behind their backs) isn't a warrant for using a possibly lethal weapons. There is a risk of electrocution when a high voltage comes through your body, whether it be from a lightning strike, touching power lines, or being tased.
AW101690 2 years ago 2
I think you said you were a lawyer? Well why don't you be a cop for a day. Why don't you take the badge and the gun make traffic stops, you go on the domestics. You go and clean up the needles and baby parts and work the wrecks. When the shooting starts you can go towards that too, all the while having every thing you do put under a microscope 24/7. So while you're in your home this thanksgiving, i'll be out here on the street keeping you safe, all for 13 dollars and hour
thompsonk196 2 years ago
It sounds to me like you are experiencing the early stages of PTSD, you should seek help before you kill someone.
I agree, as you should too, that everyone is not cut out to be in law enforcement.
It is a very difficult job, but not an excuse to disregard someones civil liberties, even if you are having a bad day.
I spent 16 yrs.active duty (USMC) seen 2 hot conflicts with equal amounts of ugliness. I'm not going around kicking people in the teeth because of it.
Two words for you.....Man-up
gmcmudder1 2 years ago
Well it would seem that we've both seen some things we'd rather not. The only thing is that this guyscivil rights were not violated, the officer's had two choices, less than lethal force or hands on. Hands on can get ugly.
thompsonk196 2 years ago
thompsonk196
Sure police officers have a job, but I disagree that most encounters need to be handled with violence. To counter the myth that tasers are non-lethal, just ask the families of those that were killed as a result, if its lethal.
You have to consider this, if 99 out of 100 survive a tasering, its still lethal to the one that died.
gmcmudder1 2 years ago
I can agree that most do not warrent violence however those that do have obviously given up their right of expected safety. If you step in front of an eighteen wheeler you know you're gonna get hit. If you break the law and fight the police, you're going to get hurt. Taser's give officers the ability of putting a subject down without having to put his life at risk or for the most part...the suspects.
thompsonk196 2 years ago
Tasers should be removed from service.
Its double jeopardy.
gmcmudder1 2 years ago
They are not used as punishment, they are a means of subdueing an otherwise unruley subject in order to protect that officer's safety. The taser is as irreplacable pepper spray and when it comes down to it you have either a gun, spray/taser, or a baton. When my father was an officer he was sued for breaking a man's knee cap with a baton because he hit him while the suspect was trying to stab him. Perhaps you don't know what it is like to be scrutinized all of the time.
thompsonk196 2 years ago
You make a good argument for the initial purpose and responsible use of the taser, but can we agree on the reality that "responsible use" is not always the case.
I recently witnessed seasoned and ranked officers, comparing humorous taser victims reaction stories, as if it were a contest. Then I watch this man tasered for suffering from a medical condition. There are many others, kid falls over bridge, broken back , gets tasered...
So is it a tool or a toy?
gmcmudder1 2 years ago
@gmcmudder1 Are you seriously insinuating that police officers use tasers for enjoyment purposes? You're seriously a deranged individual and have no idea what dangers police officers go through every day. In many instances where tasers were used, deadly force would have also been a justifiable option.
SierraMistBush 2 years ago
@gmcmudder1 Tasers are not "non-lethal" weapons. They are less-lethal! Check the facts before you make a stupid comment.
SierraMistBush 2 years ago
SierraMistBush
For your information, "non-lethal weapon" is an oxymoron. there is no such beast.
As for you... You should get a little more life experience, before you attempt to interrupt adult conversations. By the way, have you visited your local USMC recruiting office, it will help you get your head right.....MAGGOT
For we are the ones who provide you with that warm and comfortable feeling that you experience when you go to sleep at night...

gmcmudder1 2 years ago
@gmcmudder1
That is why I said LESS-LETHAL.
What are officers supposed to use then? If tasers kill people, guns kill people... what do they use in the USMC, huh?
Stop shaming the name of the USMC.
SierraMistBush 2 years ago
LiberalViewer, seriously what is wrong with you? How are police officers suppose to know the difference? Especially while things such as "the suspect is resisting" is on their mind. Yes blame cops first, the true liberal stance
samuils 2 years ago
But the question is what threat could this man possibly be posing to have to use the taser and be ripped from his car as you can see in the video the guy can barely even move lol.
TruthsImage 2 years ago
TruthsImage If police do nothing and the man is drunk, he can easily just drive off, on the way possibly killing or injuring civilians. Dont forget the vehicle can also be used as a weapon, and as a public defender LiberalViewer should know this, but now knowing where he worked I can see how he is so good with forgetting or twisting facts
samuils 2 years ago
Ok but you defend the police yet they taser him when he is no longer in the car.... I understand what your saying tho but he is no threat at all and the cops are supposed to undergo training to spot this arent they?.
TruthsImage 2 years ago
TruthsImage Ok I will answer to one question at a time.
When suspect is resisting, as they thought he was, they are allowed to apply any non lethal force to protect themselves in the event that fight might break out.
Yes they are taught to recognize such things, but cops are human and in the high stress situations they probably didnt even think about it as such cases are rare, not to mention this was also at night. At the end they did the right thing.
samuils 2 years ago
I Dont agree guess its just based on opinion.
TruthsImage 2 years ago

So your position is "any question - any doubt" shoot them.
I sure hope for your sake, you don't get tazered, beat up and carried off to jail for what started off as a tag light out, and later the magic pen places you in front of a judge with resisting arrest and assault on a P/O, because in his regular course stomping a mud hole in yourass, YOUR pelvic bone damaged the finish on his shoe.
gmcmudder1 2 years ago
gmcmudder1 "shoot them?" Has anyone got shot? NO, so please do not try to dramatize the whole situation. And yes when in doubt WHETHER YOUR LIFE IS THREATENED a few shocks will not kill anyone.
samuils 2 years ago
A few shocks, you say.
If a tasering in and of it self does not prove lethal to someone that suffers from one of many medical issues, (asthma, epilepsy, and many heart related conditions) then the uncontrolled fall while being tasered surely could.
Hypothetical scenario,
No your honor, the taser didn't kill him, it was the high speed traffic that he was jolted in front of that caused his death....
gmcmudder1 2 years ago
Maybe the next time the man in the video goes into diabetic shock he should call 911, rather than get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Kinda dangerous for everyone else don't ya think?
The Fox news anchors were getting at "how could they have know?" I'm sure a doctor would've thought the guy was black-out drunk too!
6503mike 2 years ago
