  • SO TRUE!!!!

  • How about having video shot using the creative merits of your wedding photographer? With new capabilities of HDSLR's and a 2 man photography team we can not only capture beautiful images for your wedding album but also the emotion thats comes with wedding vows and speeches.

  • Bingo. The video will totally show the emotion of the day that photos simply can't! I love photos, no doubt. But the audio and video is so important. I have yet to understand why people don't think about video more...

  • I couldn't agree more - well said!

  • Lol, while I appreciate the testimony, I find it rather funny. This clip plays like a tragedy, lol. To listen to the background music, you'd think someone died!

  • Then I guess I hit the mark! Thanks for your comment.

  • Thanks for posting this. Fantastic testimony.

  • We are wedding videographers. This is what a couple said about their DVD:-

"It is our 1 year anniversary today and we have yet again been watching our fantastic wedding video. We just wanted to say thank you again for doing such a great job. You really did catch every special moment we wanted to remember.

    Grant and Megan - September 22, 2008"

  • Thanks for your comment!

  • I've had clients tell me they show off their DVD to family and friends six months after they get it. Not to get wedding videography because you will only watch it once every couple of years is crazy. How many times are you going to watch your favorite Hollywood movie on DVD? Why buy any DVD then? I've had a client tell me the best money they spent was on their wedding video. If you find a videographer who fits your style it will be the best money spent for your wedding.

  • My wife and I are wedding videographers (since 1987) and we hear these regrets all the time. Not only do couples wish they could relive the sights and sounds of their special day, but they wish they had preserved on video the event for their posterity. Wedding videos will be valuable contributions to family history in the future. Well, except for that cake in the face stuff!

  • Aww I want videographer for my wedding but can't afford it :-(

    *tear*

  • when are you getting married??

  • How often are you going to really go back and rewatch your wedding anyway? I don't see the point in spending all that money when you probably aren't going to watch it more than twice.

  • Thanks for commenting, that's a good question. I'll soon be interviewing a couple who's wedding I videotaped in 1998. I'll ask 'em and post it here.

  • As a Merited Professional Videographer, who takes his line of work very seriously, I can tell you from experience that a thoughtful and artistically shot and edited video is watched over and over again. When done well a video can tell the story of your wedding day better than any other medium, and will neither lose its emotional impact nor its entertainment value. It is a document of a very important day in the lives of 2 families. Find the right person to capture this once-in-a-lifetime event.

  • I have to disagree with this, I have emails still coming in from weddings that I shot a few years ago and they still thank me for doing their video and how it still brings them back to that special day. I do weddings for fun and have built friendships through my clients.

  • I'm sorry to hear that... It's nice of you to post that here so maybe the next bride who sees this will not let anyone talk her out of preserving her special day. Thanks for your comment and all the best to you and your husband. (I'll bet your first dance was terrific!)

  • I just got married in July of this year and my wedding package said it included a wedding videographer, but last minute they said it would cost extra. So people talked us out of getting it. My brother in law tried to get good footage of it, but moments were missing and no one got our first dance. I'm so sad that I don't have that on video.

  • i do take it seriously as i have spent a lot of money on equipment and have lots of experiance in multimedia and computers,

that is why i have started going into this business all i was saying that if anyone needs a good videographer i will do it at a very low price for i am not here to rip people off but to give them a day they will remember for the rest of there lifes, thank you for repling

and if anyone is getting married in scotland look me up and e-mail me i will get back to you thanks

  • Not meaning to pick holes, but when you take into account licensing music, paying the wages of your other trained camera operator/s, the tapes themselves, transport, equipment and insurance overheads, the editing, grading and authoring of a decent DVD with nice custom menus, on-body and cover artwork, not to mention the part of the fee that will eventually have to go to the government, how on earth can you turn a profit and do a decent job for £300? How can you even cover your costs?

  • Add in marketing and sales costs and your almost there. That seems to me to be a big reason the video industry attracts a transient population. Thanks for your very insightful comment!

  • no worries. I earn my bred and butter doing corporate promos and epk's so I dont have to worry about marketing- weddings are kind of a sideline that I'll undertake when asked and most of them come through word of mouth, but that dosent mean I dont take pride in my work. If something's worth doing its worth doing well, and from the look of your sample videos you're very much in agreement on that one!

  • I am starting my own Wedding Video Business because of the prices. oh come on £1000 for what i mean 5 Dvd's a camera computer and a bit of time. i wouldnt charge anymore than £300 and i can do a far better job, the downside i couldnt record my own wedding personaly but did organize it, and i myself edited it and even suprised myself what a good job i had done in publishing it, Then my Brother in Law asked me to Video his Wedding, I recorded it and if you do need a videographer look me up amgood

  • You seem to have missed the point. But please take your craft seriously and work hard to produce the very best product you can no matter what you charge. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event!

  • Why are people being so mean? I am getting married October 19,2009, and I have to say that I wasn't planning on getting a videographer. Now, after hearing this I am. Thanks guys!

  • Thanks for the comment, you definitly won't regret it. Have a great wedding day!

  • Get a life. Your wedding is about marrying the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with - if you want to keep watching that day again and again, you should question what is missing from your married life...

  • I think you totally missed the point, or had a bad wedding that you didn't want to re-live. It happens.

  • Ha ha! In fact, I had a wonderful wedding a month ago, but one that avoided the 'wedding industry' and all many of the things that people are told that they need to spend money on in order to have their perfect day...

Perhaps you have a vested interest in that side of things though.

  • Yup, I do. Hopefully it wasn't too hard to notice that. (or all my efforts are wasted!)I totally understand your perspective and appreciate it really. I just don't think it's good to denigrate how most people feel about the happiest day in their lives. Close to a thousand people have told me just what this couple is saying over the 17 years I've been in business. I don't think any of them were pressured by the wedding industry to have their dream wedding, but I do appreciate your comment!

  • I have also stayed away from most of the "wedding industry" but a video is something I wouldnt dream of skipping. I want to show my children and my grandchildren one day. And its a lovely way to reminise on anniversarys. Do you think people that look at their wedding album each year are missing something from their marriage to??

  • I think they are missing something from their wedding day at least. Thank you for your thoughtful comment.

  • wah, wah, wah!

  • If only more people knew what they will be missing! 62% of brides regret not hiring a professional wedding videographer.

One wedding I attended, but did not shoot:

Ice sculpture but not a wedding videographer? WOW, they really thought through their chioces.

  • de-interlace your footage!

  • Thank you for making this. The associations in our area are going crazy why they are not hiring us. This hit the nail on the head. I hope it ok that I put this on favorites list. Once again, Thank you

  • Please do use this on your favorites list or wherever you want. Thanks for viewing it!

  • THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!!!

  • That is an awesome video. I'm glad a real couple is finally telling it like it is. People think that photos are all they need, but they don't realize what a huge difference video makes until it's too late. Don't let that happen to you, get a quality wedding video, find the company that best fits your budget and your needs in your area, but video is the best thing you will spend for in your wedding.

  • It's about time people started realizing that video is the most important thing if you want to remember all those important moments that photos just don't capture. How can people spend tens of thousands of dollars on flowers that will die and food that will be eaten and not have anyway to remember it all? I love this video

  • Yeah, it's kind of mind-blowing to be at a wedding and realize they spent $3,000 on renting chair covers but didn't want to spend that on a professional video that captures everything. Thanks for watching!

  • I have been married for 28 years and I so wish I could see and hear my wife and I from way back then. Her coming down the aisle, our vows, the first dance and so much more. My 21 year old daughter wishes she could have seen and heard her parents get married too.

  • Hoem video probably would turn out in a dark room jna

  • I'm not sure what your trying to say. But if it's lighting in general, then that's an even better reason to hire a pro. It's knowledge and experience that count even more than equipment when producing quality videos. Knowing what equipment to use in tough lighting is key as well. Thanks for viewing!

  • Great! We've seen a turn of the tides in the last couple years. About half of our clients are booking video FIRST.

  • Couldn't they just have shown their regret in photos? LOL, Just kidding. Nice video and it speaks the truth that so many try to avoid. - You can't hear your vows from a picture !!! -

  • I wish coordinators would show their clients this video!

  • They would be doing a good service to their clients I think. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • totally agree from personal experiance

  • Thanks for sharing your experience!

  • is it just me? I can't hear what the couple are saying, the music is overpowering their words.

  • Stupid overrated damn photographers! Why would anybody pay some damn photog $5,000 for a handful of still pictures when they could have a beautiful DVD movie that is NOT like anything they are seeing on You-Tube. Think about it!

  • Youtube has a lot of great wedding video... they all done by pro!

  • Don't regreat it, keep your love to eachother and plan to make a big 5th or 10th anniversary and dance with the same song . Best of luck.

  • Didn't any guest catch the first dance on home video?

  • Excellent....
