@keshavkannan The sitar was played by Clem Alford ( a western player of long standing & distinction )who played Sitar on all Akasa tracks as well as composing them along with Jhalib ( also a western player) ( apart from 3 awful songs the record company put on the album under the name of Sophiya Haque) but they were most definitely not Akasa songs !
Kama is the God of Love...an eternally gergeous and playful God- who even had power to sway desire to Lord Shiva- who accidently opened his third eye and incinerated Kama.
Kama Sutra are the acts of love as gifted to us from the God of Love.
Kama is a wonderful God. Where is the world without love?
FYI, AKASA is now on Facebook - join the Appreciation Group created specially for them. Under Facebook, search for 'AKASA SOPHIYA' and you will find it instantly. Pls join and support the cause of the memory of Akasa and the beautiful music they created for us.. the original and authentic fusion music makers!!!
And thank you , if you do get the album, bear in mind the record company put three tracks on there which are NOT Akasa ( with Sophiya singing) and they are not good enough to be on an Akasa CD !
Fortunately I have the Cassette, but its in India. I think when I will go to Mumbai this summer, I should be able to get from some old music shop a CD.
There is no DVD, I converted these from old VHS tapes. The Akasa CD was never released in the West ?? It was released through Magnasound in Bombay/Mumbai in India & even though i was in the band i never got an official copy. They said there was none left !!!
MUST HAVE THE CD. I don;t even have mp3s. Very sad. Hard to find... any help out there? Thank you.
