Noosa is far from a shithole or a one street town. Noosa's main street along the beach front get's the glory for being Noosa but within 5 minutes any direction there are other great beaches, the Noosa River, great shopping, great restaurants, art galleries, adventure activities, and a beautiful National Park.
Living in Noosa I can't imagine a nicer place to be!
Nintendoman15 not only can't come up with an original name he completely doesn't know what he's talking about regarding Noosa.
I am moving to Noosa, my Australian grandfather lives there and I am leaving Idaho for good. I am going to get citizenship and try to work as a server in a restaurant. I haven't been there since I was 3. This is going to be absolutely amazing.
I'm from the UK, when i was a kid, never travelled, never really thought about countries much, but when some one mentioned Australia, i immediately felt freedom! I mean, like a great openness about the place, USA has a large land, but Australia feels out of this world, literally! I feel it new, a place i should be living in. I'm now living in Far-East Asia, an Asian country, but Australia, till this day, is the wonder land to me & always will be. I think you start to live if you live there.

only sick pedophiles like josef fritzl come from australia. i visited the island once, always thought some odd about is. guess i was right. sick people
how Noosa has changed. I was there back in 1971 or 72, and there was only 1 or 2 restaurants. I vividly remember a mexican restaurant where we hippies ate regularly.
Noosa is a beautiful little city! it is fairly classy and can be quite expensive but still ahs a very relaxed feel. The national park next to main beach is amazing there are lots of tourists in the Noosa area. It is becoming increasingly popular and the beach is fairly safe family beach.
My wife and I plan to come to Australia in 2012. One of the places we want to try out is Noosa. Does anyone wish to share their thoughts about Noosa with us?

@ GeelongFc0709 you right gympie is a crap hole its full of bogans and we all hate them ur right all locals hate tourists because they have no idea how to surf they think there top shit but tourists are fags
Nice place but don't tell the locals you're on holidays, they HATE outsiders and make no shame in showing it. The locals are so rude, image obsessed and pretentious. Even to the point where they wanted to rename Gympie Terrace because Gympie (a town about 45 mins away) has a reputation for being a bogan town. Pathetic isn't it?
Golden beaches of golden sand, silky sunsets that glow on your hands, as dawn awakens on this marvelous land, lay back and enjoy as mush as you can - come to Queensland as soon as you can.

@Boelcke1916
Noosa's great. I've been around Noosa since 1993. Surf, sail, warm water, white sand. Just about perfect.
If you have less than a month visit, Australia has more to offer than whiling away days on the beach.
Look at Hamilton Island or further north or inland. I know it's hard to figure out, but avoid the tourist destinations.
90% of what's in this video is just not connected to reality -- you wont' find a bloody "magician" at your dinner table.
Plan by season and school holidays.

it's about a 90 minute drive north of Brisbane. So it's maybe two and a half hours north of Surfers Paradise.
