It kicks a hell of a lot more than my AR and arsenal AK74... Almost as much as my hunting rifles... even more than my buddie's Cetme G3 .308. I shot the Brazilian Imbel FAL not the FN, but I'm sure they're pretty much the same. And I shoot as often as I have money for ammo... which has been a lot lately since I've been buying surplus. I've just been comparing it with assault rifles and the difference in kick is definitely noticeable.

@t3super60W you just compared the recoil with two small caliber weapons with very little recoil at all...The fal doesnt have all that much recoil. You want recoil come shoot my 416 rigby or my 505 gibbs. hell eve my 375 hh or my 470 ne. thos kick you around pretty good. but a 308 in a 14 pound weapon, hardly any recoil. unless you are 5'7 140 pounds...you shouldnt have any issue with recoil

Never said it was an issue, if anything it feels more substantial and beastly. I did compare it with my assault rifles because they're what I shoot the most. However, my 300 win mag deer slayer does have much more recoil, same goes with my 30-06 Marlin.

If anyone is making a big deal about anything, it seems to be you, friend. I was only comparing its recoil to the assault rifles that I'm used to handling regularly. As it is a battle rifle, its recoil is obviously much more substantial. On the other hand you compare it with very large calibers such as your 505 gibbs, which would indeed make the FAL feel like a BB gun.

I did mention that it kicked more than a G3, I think the G3 has a better delayed blowback mechanism that absorbs a little more recoil. And since the G3 is also a battle rifle, I fail to see how these two are completely different. I am now under the impression that you have never even shot an FAL... Very well then that is awesome for you if its true. Someone as experienced as you should also know that when you judge a gun's recoil, you are essentially comparing it to other guns that you have fired, since the basis for any type of comparison is to relate it to something else. If you are used to firing the same gun, then you are more used to its recoil then someone who isn't. Also one who is used to a .380 might find a .45 to have a lot of recoil, even though a lot of people don't.

im thinking the same as these 2 guys down there. mw2 got me interested in firearms. the interest became real big, so now i know alot about guns. cod fucks up the reputation of alot of guns, they get alot wrong. m16 dowsnt shoot tri-birst. it has a selecter for semi r full auto, the acr isnt that weak, and the psg1 isnt that strong. i plan to desighn guns in the future, im 15 years old but i draw simple scematics and mechanisms for guns i want to desighn some day.

@WiLLYJ96 I'm glad you got out of the cod phase but you got something wrong. Most m16s are burst fire/semi. Only the m16 a1 and a4 are capable of full auto. But yes i agree cod knows nothing about actual fire arms.

@WiLLYJ96you should go more in to detail.m16a1, and a3 shoot semi and full. the a2 and a4 shoot semi and burst, acr shoots the same round as the m16n l85, fnc, scar:L and it's a 5.56. its not that powerfull but it's fast and its tumbles in the target.

the psg1 is a powerfull rifle it shoots the 7.62 if you get hit by that you most of the time won't live to tell the tale. if you compare a 7.62 to a standard 50 call round(manny diffrent rounds ap for example) it's weaker yes but it's really powerf

@chrizmeister1992 believe it or not. i actually do know most of that you just said. i didnt know about the 3 rd. burst thing. i know the psgi shoots a 7.62x51mm bullet, and that it will get you down. but for a 7.62 sniper rifle, i would prefer a higher muzzle velocity. at least 800 m/s. i worry about muzzle velocity because of wind interference. i do know about the calibers the guns fire. i know tumbling counts for 5.56x45mm shooters but i didnt know it counts for 7.62 guns. nice info.

You CoD jerks, the FAL in MW2 is probably a british, inch pattern L1a1 SLR, that is semiauto only, or the could be stoler semiauto FALs for civilian use. IMO, Infinity Ward made it semiauto only for balance purposes. To the CoD kids, the M14 is fullauto capable too. To the Counter-Strike kids: the G3-SG1 (the terrorist's semiauto sniper rifle) is also select fire capable in real life, it basically a scoped G3a3 with a heavy barrel. The truly semiauto only HK sniper rifle is the PSG-1.

@codfanful no you can't choose , the standard rifle for everybody in the Belgian Army is the FNC. Only the Special Forces group uses the F2000. Also some infantry units use the F2000 but in small amounts.
