@themask786 Etymologically it means 'Servant of Christ'. Wow, I may have come across ridiculously serious just there - but that's what kind of a name Gillies is. In 1990 it was #9695 out of 88799 last names in the USA. That's another random factoid.

@Iplaydrums2112 There are several offered - you can spend a semester at the Jazz & Rock Schulen, Freiburg, Germany or the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, Athens, Greece.

There are other member institutions such as the Conservatorio Musical Souza (Lima, São Paulo, Brazil), the Pop & Jazz Conservatory (Helsinki, Finland), and the Seoul Jazz Academy (Seoul, Korea).

@MrBlue707 Well, it isn't so much easy or difficult, as it depends on your family's financial position and your ability to work hard at Berklee. I've performed excellently every semester, but scholarships have been out of the question as there are student's who need the aid much more than I do.

Well, what I think would be your salvation would be a great audition and giving the school an opportunity to see that you want to work hard. Yes, this is an academic institution, but it is primarily an artistic one - prove your mettle as a musician and show them your passion & potential.

hey dude im going to college in 2012 and im trying to get into berklee/uarts, i think berklee is a better school, but the campus doesnt fit my lifestlye more than uarts and im a huge eagles fan too! but yeah how hard is it to get a scholarship from both schools. overview of me, i play the guitar, drums, and piano, and im a singer (not to brag ) and im a starting freshman in the chamber choral class without trying out because i was recomeded, do u think i have a good chance getting a scholarship

In all honesty I would say go with Berklee - you may be an Eagles fan, but are you going to school for the football or the music ;) I have a friend here from Philly and he chose Berklee over UARTS.

I can't say if you'd get a scholarship - it depends less on how many instruments you play and more on how you use your potential, your passion and your abilities on your instrument(s). But playing more than one definitely helps - all you need to do is figure out which one to audition with :)
