Interesting. Remember, you cannot use micro seiverts unless you are calibrated for the exact energy of the source, for the Geiger counter. A scintillator can measure energy and dectect events, but the Geiger counter can only detect events. I just posted a video explain this in detail.
It's a very sturdy piece of equipment. I completely stripped it and cleaned it. Other than a nearly frayed wire connection it was fine. I re-soldered the wire and cleaned the switch. Very old school, robust, mostly passive electronics. I think it's a 1980's model 3 as the newer ones have 4 screws holding the meter in place and the very old ones have different calibration pots. The NaI(Ti) crystal is yellowed in some areas but apparently this has little effect in use
