@xmrsxmansonx How Dublin had a problem with breaking poorly from the gate no matter who was on board. 'Sigh' you don't know what you are talking about. Big surprise.
@bnegs521 wow. Seriously? Do you really have to be an asshole?
You could have said that my opinion wasn't yours without being a sarcastic prick. Just sayin.
ANYWAYS..... what I was trying to say was that what happened with Dublin COULD have been corrected better, had he not had a jockey who was already having a crappy year. IT'S AN OPINION NOT A FACT!
@xmrsxmansonx Un it is a FACT that Dublin broke poorly from the gate in nearly every one of his races no matter who was aboard. In fact before the race I predicted he would do just what he did. So since breaking from the gate is part of the race he deserved exactly what he got. Which was a 5th. place finish. Not Gomez's fault because it is the TRAINERS job to do that and work with that with the horse. Not the jockey who gets aboard the day of. Gimmie a break.
@xmrsxmansonx No he should not have. He was terrible from breaking from the gate in nearly ALL of his races. Before the race I PREDICTED he would do just that and he did just that. Breaking from the gate in proper fashion is part of what racing is about. So he finished right where he belonged. I love the coulda woulda shoulda in horse race people. We would have to rewrite the record books entirely if we used even 1 percent of them.
@bnegs521 Rags To Riches broke poorly. She won the Belmont.
Good for you and your predictions. Don't sit there and tell me about what a trainer should and shouldn't be doing until you've been around race horses yourself. I never worked with TBreds, but I HAVE worked with racers. Maybe I'm assuming such things, but I would "predict" you haven't. I meant "should have" because I liked him. Statistically, yes, I didn't think he'd win. Oh well. That's life.
@xmrsxmansonx The Belmont is a mile and a half so a bad break does not matter as much in the Belmont nor the starting gate position. I have been around horses and thoroughbreds since 1993 and still am to this day.
I LOVE LOOKING AT LUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the first race he ran i voted for him and my dad said do you really want to vote for him he is odd looking. but look what happen he's heading up to the breeders cup. GO LUCKY GO!
@99painthorse I agree with your father..... I always called him Lookin at Ugly LOL!!! But hey, it takes speed and stamina to win a race, not beauty!!!
Super Saver was nothing but a horse who was a mudder who rode a huge rail bias to victory in the Derby. In this race and others he was exposed for the farce he was. i would call him almost as poor a derby winner as Giacamo. The Derby field shoiuld be cut down to 14-15 horses to eliminate all the luck that comes intop that race. The TC afterall is supposed to find the best horses, not the luckiest. Looks like steroid boy Pletcher broke down another 3 year old. LAL will win the BC Classic.
@Kulaness What about that as successful? Nothing. The Triple Crown is about winning no matter what it's suppose to create champions. Anyway this horse is obviously nothing special.
Amazing race to watch I thought that caracortodo had a good shot at winning when turning for home but he got tiered but still caracortodo was one of the best on that field!! After the race I lost my voice I was screaming so loud for my dad!
In one of the most down season's for 3yr.old's that I've seen in many years, Lookin At Lucky bounced back well in this race from a bad trip in the Kentucky Derby, I believe from the off-track, to show his class at Pimlico. He really is the only 3yr.old that's displaying anywhere close to the same form he had as a 2yr.old, IMO. I think he'll go to Saratoga, win the Travers, and come away as the clear leader among the 3yr.old division. He may or may not take a shot at his year's B.C.C.? TJMO.
excelente carrera la de FIRST DUDE, con un jockey como Dominguez, que lo mantuvo en punta desde el inicio y pudo aguantar al final para llegar segundo. Ese si es un jockey energico. Saludos Dominguez la proxima sera.
Congrats, Showgrrl!" Always good to see a new fan winning. Belmont is a tough race to handicap. That mile and a half is grueling and it takes a special horse to make that distance after running in the Derby and Preakness. Think of that before you bet Dublin in the Belmont. My advice? Bet a horse with Birdstone in its pedigree.
Jackson Bend not in Belmont. My money is on Ice Box, First Dude, Dublin, Game on Dude-but it's too early. Did you see Dublin finished 5th even after that terrible start in Preakness...makes you think
Don't think Jackson Bend is running in the Belmont... Though his jockey should be riding Ice Box in that race. If so, I will be putting a lot of money on Ice Box to win.
$2 exacta paid me $188. Not bad. I won on the #7 win but I got screwed on all my trifectas b/c I mixed in 8 (Supersaver) I had 7-8-11 boxed. I saw that 6 horse cross the finish and it looked alot like an 8, haha I got a little excited. Gonna need help with Belmont...I am new to this
Lookin at Lucky coming from the far outside...so exciting! Thanks for the win! and I hit my 7-11 exacta. Freaking awesome! Did some online research and it actually paid off.
If Ice Box runs, he's going to win. The way he closed at the Derby convinces me of that. 1 1/2 miles is perfect for him. Paddy O'Prado can close pretty well too.
@animatestate After the KY Derby he boldly stated that he was going to win the Triple Crown with Super Saver. He hadn't even gotten off the horse yet. Super Saver didn't have anything in the tank for this race.
Simply good handling by Martin Garcia -- Lookin at Lucky looked good winning here, and I think the Belmont Stakes will be a lot better distance for the horse.
Garret Gomez.... *sigh* you can't ride to save your life. Dublin should have won that race
