You got the life man! I would love to have a backyard like that but sigh if I were to try and grab the ass end of any animal in my backyard I would get stuck with a hypodermic needle!
got up and had a lion leaning against the patio door in the shade before but not at my house....at a mates at umfolozi game park...they are massive...thought the door was gonna collapse!
funny you should say that because normally the people here just chop them up with pangas to get them outa the houses or roof space...i prefer to grab them by what ever i can and set them free either at the reserve or our local river...silly question but have you seen the infections caused by wild water monitors? people have died when untreaeted here....we are not talking caged pets that have been handled and not excercised. these are fit healthy faster than anything stuck in a tank..robbo
Yeah i know i own a nile monitor i know what happens in australia and i'm not offended or anything its your guys culture =) just saying it got grabbed by the tail.
yep..it was grabbedby the tail..let me ask where do you grab a monitor lizard?..not a tank one but a wild one?and we live in africa not australia..lol
sure if you have time you grab it there...watch the other videos and i use that technique you mention...you need to be in that position to grab it...it does make me laugh when people who OWN caged creatures try to lecture people that actually live with wild creatures in their natural habitat. Unfortunately sometimes its not possible... video 15 shows me grabbing one out of a tree like you mention...but if the creature is going to take a bite and struggle you keep the sharp end away from you!
The monitor is a varanus niloticus (nile monitor)

RUN lizzard RUN! Your late for your next Geico ad! Just think of all the money you'd save on car insurance if you held him for ransom! Just kidding.
