The identification with a false sense of an "I" or ego is the identification with all forms of phenomena including mental phenomena. In this identification we cannot see our Buddha-nature or the noumena.
Beautiful... The world is heading towards self-destruction and the only way to save it is with love and compassion for all beings... may all beings be happy...
Jesus Christ: Truth, Love, Peace, Grace, Merciful Redemption, Life, Way, Everything You Need and are searching for, Endless Knowledge, Endless Wisdom, King, Prince, Mighty God, Wonderful, Counselor, Answers to Every and Any question you will ever have, knew the question before you ask it.
Buddhism vs Jesus: No brainer. Choose Jesus, the only Living and True God!
@Buddhahop: Even Buddha, when the day of judgment is upon all flesh, will rise from the grave and say JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, for EVERY knee shall bow, and EVERY tongue shall confess this. I pray for people just like you, because you listen to a man which profess doctrines that do not save! Simply improving your life is not enough. The change needs to be permament, and that comes from Bible, THE ONLY TEXT THAT ANYONE SHOULD BE FOLLOWING! If you believe not, it wont abort the will of God.
@Buddhahop: I warn you this day, if you choose to not submit to Jesus and obey him, this I am sure, that you will be carried off in your iniquity along with Buddha, Muhammad, the Pope and every other false teacher. They all have one thing in common, they are all of their father the devil. and enjoy doing the things he does. the devil is the father of all lies and they now are spreading their deception to countless amounts of people. The blood of many shall be required of them on judgment day.
@WarfareSpiritForGod: Oh no, I'm very correct. If you regard any other man's teachings then the teachings of Almighty God, Jesus Christ, my friend, you are deceived and living it in. Buddhism is nothing more than idol worship and according to the Bible. idol worshipers, unless they turn from their lonesome wage of sin, which Jesus will condemn no one that comes to him, will be cast in the fire to be burned. The teachings are foolish and so are the men teaching them. Simple.
Jesus Loves you, died for you, and will save you if you let him. He desires no one, even the false teachers, to perish but that they would come to repentance. Same with you. He has power, grace, his spirit, name, truth, blessings and revelation to give you, and all these things lead to a forever changed person. Harden not your heart, but turn to God, Jesus Christ, and I promise you, you will never be the same for I am a witness of his power. And besides, he will be here any minute now.
@Pollther: Absolutely for Christ is our great example and his word is the only example that anyone who seeks to be enlightened should follow. Balance, Tranquility and Peace are all taught by the Bible, so what need is there for any other extra-biblical accounts other than what Jesus Christ, the only God, has taught? One becomes a christian once they have been born again (Acts 2:38), received the holy spirit (Acts 2:4) and are living holy (James 1:22).
@Pollther: And the reason why you made that comment is that you have not a revelation of the name of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus Christ is the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I can qualify that for you by using several scriptures, but the one you are to pay attention to is Isaiah 9:6. Clearly that shows the identity of Jesus being fully God (Divinity) and Man (Humanity). Now let me give you two other scriptures to look at: 2 Tim 3:16 & 2 Peter 1:20-21.
Paul never met Christ (except in a 'vision') and the authorship of Peter's epistle is quite controvertible. According to The Oxford Bible Commentary, p. 1263,
...p. 1263, "Despite 1 Pet 1:1, the author is unlikely to have been the apostle Peter. The cultured Greek of the epistle makes it perhaps the most literary composition in the NT. The apostle Peter probably knew some Greek, but 1 Peter does not look like the product of an unlettered (Acts 4:13) Galilean fisherman."
...It employs a sophisticated vocabulary incorporating several NT hapax legomena, and its author appears to have some command of the techniques of Hellenistic rhetoric. He is also intimately acquainted with the OT in the LXX, whereas we should have expected the Galilean Peter to have been more familiar with an Aramaic Targum or the Hebrew."
Neither Paul nor the author of 1 & 2 Peter ever met Jesus. Your point is moot.
I'll bet everything in my bank account that your life looks nothing like the life of Christ...unless of course, you practice chaste celibacy and just finished a 40 day fast.
At the NAME of JESUS CHRIST, all believers of Hinduism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness, Episcopalians, Dalai Lama, etc... will bow to him and realize, at the wrong time, and confess that He is Lord, God almighty. They will also realize that the teachings of these men they followed will not save them on judgment day from God almighty. There's a wicked price to pay when you cause God trouble. The blood of MANY will be upon their heads come judgment time.
@WarfareSpiritForGod: So looking at the scriptures i listed to you, its clear to see Jesus, who is God and Man, inspired holy men to write the scriptures as they were moved on by the holy spirit, his spirit. So yes they knew who Jesus was, from Moses right down to Paul, they all knew him, where known of him. How can a qualify this? See Lk 24:44 & Acts 19:15.
@Pollther: In Luke 24:44, we see that the Moses, prophets, psalms wrote concerning him, Jesus Christ. The ONLY way they could have wrote that way besides being moved upon by his spirit, was that they had a relationship with him. They walked with him daily, knew him and had a revelation of who he was AND what he looked like. The only thing they knew not was his name because it was not time for them to know it. Just because they didn't know his name didn't stop him from being Jesus Christ.
@Pollther: the above is meant for you to read. Take a look at Acts 19:15. Even the demon associated Paul with Jesus. How could that have been if Paul didn't know Jesus personally or somehow been marked by him? You explain that one. The ones who didn't know Jesus Christ, the vagabond Jews, didn't know him like Paul did, and the demon using that man beat them severely. So yes, from the prophets right down, they ALL KNEW Jesus Christ but some of the knew his name and others didn't, i e Moses.
Do you honestly expect anyone to accept your propagandizing? Should we simply relinquish the use of reason and take your word for it? How do you expect to establish the credibility of a text when we know zilch about its author? Do you accept the 'holy revelation' of the Quran to Mohammud, or the Book of Mormon to Joseph Smith? Why not?
Since you're so convinced of your 'salvation' experience, why don't you post your testimony here?
@Pollther: Absolutely. The almighty God, Jesus Christ, gave me his Name in Baptism (Acts 2:38), Baptized me with his holy spirit (Matthew 3:11, Acts 2:4 & Acts 2:38), and as I was filled with it, I spoke and currently do speak in tongues as HIS spirit gives me the utterance. By his spirit, he has given me the ability to be a reader and doer of his word (James 1:22). My sins have been washed away, and live unto God each and every day. And when I fall, because I do, I'm covered by Grace (Rom 6:20)
See, you're merely dispensing the threadbare platitudes of a very narrow, sectarian version of Christianity. Anyone who reads anything you write is bound to write you off because you're unable to converse at their level--in fact, there's no conversation taking place, just one-sided, frothy rambling fit for a parrot.
@Pollther: I'm free from sin, death from the grave. Because my God, Jesus Christ, with his death on the cross, burial and resurrection, BEAT DEATH and is resurrected on high and made an open show of the devil! He's assured me that as long as I am obedient to the word, confirmed in his word (Mark 16:16), i will be resurrected with the church, no not building, but from the greek ekklesia meaning to be called out. Im living holy unto God and am assured that he never leaves nor forsakes me Mt 28:19
I deny the validity of the concept of 'sin,' and furthermore--death.
In the Bhagavad Gita (2:19), Lord Krishna tells us that "He who thinks that the living entity is the slayer or that the entity is slain does not understand. One who is in knowledge knows that the self slays not nor is slain."
You have your scriptures, I have mine.
If God gave us the faculty of reason, He expects us to use it. Is it God's will that you should appeal to dogma and authority instead, spurning His gift?
@Pollther: But this is the best part. I know that when I face Jesus Christ on judgment day, that I have a place with my Master him in heaven because I obeyed only the word of God and NO OTHER teacher than him while . But I will make this plain: You obey ANYONE else other that God almighty, Jesus Christ, when YOU die, because you will, you will die lost and are left to him now. The Bible says it and that's the only word I will accept, not any of the teachings of Buddhism or any other doctrine.
@Pollther: The ultimate equalizer of us all death and you cannot debate that. The belief in reincarnation is devilish because you are only born once in this life. The born again experience Jesus spoke of us was a spiritual birth, because believe it or not, your soul has a body. And that born again experience quickens your soul! Besides you have NEVER seen anyone come back from the grave to tell you anything, and if you say you did, what you saw was a demon who took on the form of the departed.
"Where is the calamity that can mar my cheerfulness? Where is the sorrow that can tamper with my happiness? Everlasting, the same yesterday, today and for ever, pure and holy of holies, the Master of the Universe, that I am. Even in your hands I am the power that makes them move, O Alexander!"
@Pollther: Heaven or Hell. Both are for the same time, forever. Can you honestly say, apart from religion, that you can afford to be wrong? Can you say that you are 100% sure that your afterlife will be a pleasant one? No. Choose this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). If you are not serving Jesus Christ, then you are pagan. And Pagans, idol worshipers all have one place they will go if they do not turn to Jesus Christ and obey him, and that is the Lake of Fire. God established that, not me
@Pollther: But why suffer? Not when you can have access to his grace, mercy, name, spirit, love, kindness, blessed assurance, peace, joy, rest, word, and access to such great revelation. Just imagine, Jesus Christ, living inside of you, talking to yes, God speaks to his people, and giving you his spirit which is a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Poll, don't reject Jesus, but embrace. There's always room at the calvary, especially for you my friend. Jesus loves you and so do I Poll.
You say, "Don't reject Jesus," but in fact--I actively pray to Him--and to Heavenly Father, Divine Mother, Bhagavan Krishna, Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukteswar, Paramahansa Yogananda and the saints of all religions. There's no rejection of Jesus here, but of your rather provincial interpretation. Jesus' love is so much greater and more inclusive than you currently imagine it.
@Pollther: You are mistaken and do err in that kind of defiled worship/praying. In Deuteronomy 6:4, it is written, "Hear ye oh Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord" not two, three or four, but One. If you praying to all of them, you can't be praying to him as no servant can have 2 masters (Matt 6:24). If you believe Jesus love is so much greater, which no man can completely fathom, then why not listen to what he says and be obedient to him? Babji will not save you come judgment. Only Jesus can!
Jesus love is 'that much greater' because he never advocated the divisive sectarianism that you do. "One infinite, pure and holy--beyond thought, beyond quality, I bow down to Thee." One infinite substance can be worshipped in Its infinite aspects. I've never affirmed the metaphysical validity of transcendent, personal, conscious entities somewhere 'out there,' in the above and beyond. You misunderstand because your theology is steeped in dualistic thinking.
@Pollther: Jesus said I AM THE WAY TRUTH AND LIFE NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME (THE FATHER HIMSELF) as he revealed himself as the Father (John 10:30). Make no mistake about, all religions are like the battles of warriors, confused noise and chaos roundabout. But my God said that he is not the author of confusion (I Cor. 14:33) so if you follow the teachings of a religion(s) that profess the existence of more than One God, then that religion is of confusion/wicked and contradictory.
"Jesus meant, never that he was the sole Son of God, but that no man can attain the unqualified Absolute, the transcendent Father beyond creation, until he has first manifested the 'Son' or activating Christ Consciousness within creation. Jesus, who had achieved entire oneness with that Christ Consciousness, identified himself with it inasmuch as his own ego had long since been dissolved." - Sri Yukteswar
@Pollther The one god came a long time after the many gods. The one god enshrined on all altars was possible because of the slaughter of people who were polytheists. If you look into history, the bible needs to be thankful for the ancient documents that supplied the bible with its stories.
The Bible was written by an insecure, aggrandizing people. Archaelogical evidence shows that the 'cities' of David and Solomon were more like 'villages.' Biblical writers downplayed the Canaanite's culture when, in fact, it was more advanced than Israel's.
"And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron." Judges 1:19
@Pollther: Jesus Christ is coming back again for his church! For the Bible says in 1 Cor 15:52,53
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
If he spoke it, it will come to pass. But to the wicked and ungodly is utter wrath poured out full strength! Escape that danger! Obey Jesus Christ!
What reason do we have to accept Paul's so-called revelation? None. The Bible didn't fall from the sky, the books were hand-picked and canonized by church 'fathers' with their own theological biases and agendas. Do you accept the Gospel of Thomas?
@Pollther: All scripture is inspired by God. As his spirit moved over men, they wrote, scroll down for I already covered that topic. You can sit here and try to disprove all that I say with your approach typical of the Pharisees, it still doesn't change the word of God nor his requirements. As far as that gospel, its not in the Bible. And according to Gal 1:9, any other gospel, or word, outside of the Bible is to be rejected, simple. There is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ period.
Pollther: As far as the "fathers" as you call it, they were ALL wrong as well. From Sabellius, Origen, Tertullian, Arius right down, they all had not a CLUE! Doctrines such a Modalism, Logos, Co-Equal/Co-Eternal, such demonic doctrines! EVERY SINGLE one of them doctrines could be dis proven with 7 Scriptures: Matt 28:19, Col 1:15, Col 2:9, John 10:30, 1 Tim 3:16, Lk 1:35, Isa 9:6. I only used 7 mind you. With all their intelligence, they STILL couldn't see who Jesus was. I regard not these men.
Pollther: The Bible is not made for the intellectual because if that was the case then why didn't the Pharisees, or even these so called "fathers" understand it? Its made for those that are led by the Spirit of the Lord (John 16:13). Paul said that spiritual things need to be compared with spiritual (1 Cor 2:13). And this is why you, the natural man, receive not the things i speak for they are foolishness to you (1 Cor 2:14). The only fools are those who obey not the Bible!
No, that's not the reason I don't receive it, but continue to tell yourself that. The real reason, as every good Calvinist knows, is that I haven't been predestined to receive it. Man is totally incapable of coming to God because man is utterly and totally depraved (Genesis 2:15-17, Romans 5:12, Psalm 51:5, 1 Corinthians 2:14, Romans 3:10-18, Jeremiah 17:9, John 6:44, Ephesians 2:1-10)...
Man cannot seek after God, so God seeks after man, choosing some and damning others without any consideration of personal merit. (Romans 9:10-21, Ephesians 1:4-11, Ephesians 2:4-10, Romans 8:29-30, Acts 11:18, Acts 13:48.)
Of course, you'll need to ask yourself, 'For whom, then, did Christ die?' In John chapter 10, we discover that the Good Shepherd lays his life down for the sheep...and of course, some people are not sheep--but goats, and believe not. (v. 26)
@WarfareSpiritForGod "The Bible is not made for the intellectual because if that was the case then why didn't the Pharisees, or even these so called "fathers" understand it?"
Another classic textbook fallacy known as begging the question.
@Pollther: What needed to be said was, and everything you said so far was expected. Just remember, it doesn't matter weather you want to believe the word of God or not. Your disbelief and foolish questioning Jesus already warned about so its nothing new. But i tell you, he's coming. you have heard the word of God so you are without excuse. This conversation has already been recorded in the book of life. Heaven or Hell, you choose.
Q. How do we know that "All scripture is inspired by God?"
A. It says so in the scriptures.
Textbook example of circular reasoning.
The only reason the Gospel of Thomas isn't in the Bible is because, as I stated earlier, church leaders at the Council of Carthage decided which books would 'make the grade.' If Gnostics had been in power, we'd be reading the Gospel of Thomas (among other texts) today in our 'Bible.'
If you had been raised Roman Catholic, you'd have a slew of Apocryphal books at your disposal. Ethiopian Orthodox, and guess what? You might be quoting a few passages from the Book of Enoch. The arbitration of canonical books is purely political, it has nothing to do with 'inspiration.' To boot, Paul penned 1 Tim. 3:16 BEFORE THE CANON'S ASSEMBLY which means that he could've only been referring to what you call 'the Old Testament.'
@WarfareSpiritForGod Your approach seems quite myopic. This is a big world with a long history and you cling to words on a page but what about the heart? Where do you think the backbone of religion came from? Have you read the bible lately. It's words were intrinsic to the time in which it was written. The god of love was very much a god of fury, pain and destruction of older religions based on peace. It's a mistake to write '...any other...word, outside of the Bible is to be rejected..'
@Larnsey: Thus saith the Lord God, the maker of heaven and earth, the only God. It is he who hardens hearts. It is he who sends a spirit of strong delusion once a person receives not the truth, but will allow them to believe a lie. You see, death is the ultimate equalizer which NO ONE can escape. And the Bible says in Rev 20:11-15, that the dead both great and small, that's everyone, shall appear before the throne of judgment in which Jesus will sit and judge according to everyone's works.
@Larnsey: See, the truth of the matter is that ALL religion is corrupt so lets make that clear. Nothing in the history of this entire world has caused more wars than it. Religion is not the way to go or heaven, but a relationship & obedience to God only is the way. Its all in the word of God. To walk with Jesus is a wonderful way. He shews himself to you through the word ever so clearly. Jesus cleans you up, gives you his name and spirit called the new birth, and now you have power with God.
@Larnsey: So as the Lord liveth, he loves you and wants you to turn from your wickedness. Turn and repent for his coming draws nigh. Outside of Jesus Christ, there IS no salvation. Don't you wait until judgment day to find out all this is true, because if you obey no Christ, then when you die, which you will, and appear before him, your blood will be upon your own head. And he will mention my name on that day to you and remind you of this warning. You are without excuse, you've been warned.
@Larnsey: God always warns before destruction comes. And I came here to tell you today, the Bible is real, Jesus is real, heaven and hell is real, his judgment is real. Today is the day of salvation. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity he sets before. Thus saith the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, who made a path in the red sea, today he has set before, and heaven and earth bare records of this day, LIFE and DEATH. You choose. Jesus Christ is LIFE. outside of him is DEATH and SEPARATION.
You have no proof for any of your assertions. Your concept of God is incoherent and untenable. Jesus never existed; you've never been to either heaven or hell--and furthermore, to preach such doctrines renders our life here on earth ultimately meaningless. In other words, you're a blasphemer.
@Pollther: When you meet Jesus Christ on judgment day, because you will, you tell him all of this. You call me a blasphemer, yet I speak as the spirit of the Lord teaches me (John 16:13, Psalm 32:8). You call the doctrine I preach lifeless, but the word of the Lord says where HIS spirit IS, there IS liberty (2 Cor 3:17). You call my concept of God incoherent and untenable, yet the words I speak, God almighty spoke and taught.
No, clearly, these are the words of men. If what you're saying is correct, nothing in this life makes any difference; we're lolly-gagging and loitering til' judgment day--just as puppets dancing on God's string. It's God's will that we should relinquish the use of our reason, empty our minds, and accept this proposal without question; in other words, we should take everything that makes us human--everything that makes life rich--and flush it down the loo.
@Pollther: And you are right, I've never been to heaven or hell. I know I'm going to heaven because I not only am a reader, but doer of the word and a living witness of the power of Jesus Christ. And as he warned many of Hell as to avoid it, I listen, obey his instruction and have a relationship with him. you can criticize my very words. I'm rather honored for Jesus, my heavenly Father was also criticized for the words he spoke, which are of Spirit and are life.
No, you clearly don't "know" you're going to heaven any more than the 9/11 hi-jackers 'knew' they'd be surrounded by 72 virgins when they died. You're a living testament to the placebo effect, group-think--and the narrow sense of self that insists upon 'coming out on top.'
I can hardly criticize your words, since you're clearly parroting what you've heard other people tell you. I'll never have the pleasure of hacking at the root.
There's no 'Spirit' or 'Life' in a spurious, fabricated account. Most likely, the Gospels were written as allegories. Who knows, in the end? If the Bible is as it was, why did a debate emerge between binitarian and trinitarian theologians in the fourth century? If Christ actually did command disciples to be baptized in the name of the 'Father, Son, Holy Ghost,' well, case-open and shut...yet one more lie upon a myriad of other lies.
@Pollther: I tell you, if you do not turn from your wicked ways and not to Jesus Christ, you and MANY of this page are going to bust hell wide open! Salvation outside of Jesus Christ does not exist. I have nothing to prove because I have a made up mind that I will be saved. Nothing can deter me from the path that I'm on, because the ignorance that leaks from your mouth, Jesus Christ outlined perfectly and warned us about from the Old testament to the new.
I dare say, I probably live a godlier life than you do. I've practiced chaste celibacy for years, now. I've banished lust from my heart. I spend hours each day in prayer and meditation; I fast frequently throughout the month; I donate my time to the local-foodbank. I work with children for a living. I actually use the mind and discrimination that God gave me--so if 'ignorance' is leaking from my mouth, surely you can do better than counter-assertions and blind labeling.
@Pollther: Thus saith the Lord God, the Lord of Hosts, the almighty God, Jesus Christ: I have set before you this day, and heaven and earth bare record of this, Life and Death. Choose Life that it may be well with you and your children (Deut 30:19). But Poll, your comments STILL will not stop me for praying those such as yourselves that have been held back from the Truth by men who distort it. While you have breath in your lungs, there's still hope for you for Jesus came to redeem many like you.
You are your own god. You're not interested in God's will; you're interested in self-aggrandizement. You're occupied with the task of plugging hole after hole of insecurity in a sinking boat. You're terrified of looking at views contrary to your own, since, you MUST be right. There can't be any other way.
You are your own god. That should be clear to anyone reading this exchange. Not a single word you've written conveys any power--no knowledge to back it!
@Pollther: And as you have on so do I, Jesus loves you and so do I. His word is truth , his way IS the only way, and in him is life. You my friend are abiding outside of him which there's only one thing, and thats death. Not physical, FOR NOW, but spiritual death. And if spiritual you are dead, what more are you deeds, thoughts and actions? They are all darkened, reprobate, Foolish and unlearned. Just turn to Jesus for he ALONE is this world's only hope. Outside of him, there is no other hope.
Spiritually, I've never been more alive. Again, no power in your words. Just a bunch of syllables strung together. If what you're saying is true, it should ring true--instead, it smacks of cant and falsehood.
@Pollther: The word of the Lord calls the understanding of those who refuse to receive the truth those words. And unless Swami is preaching baptism in Jesus name, receiving the holy spirit and living clean according to God's standards making sure you are 1st resurrection ready [Rapture], then he or whomever that is not to be followed or even considered a great teacher. Jesus is the ultimate instructor as he is God alone. If your looking for instruction, look to him (Psalm 32:8).
Simple as that. You're fond of quoting your 'Holy Book,' but all the evidence suggests it's a document written by men, not God.
As to the doctrines you mention, the Trinity was invented in the fourth century; the 'Rapture' doctrine wasn't conceived until the 1800's by John Nelson Darby. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD--do some research! You're following other men. Men. Men. Men.
@Pollther: Correction to this argument. EVERY SCRIPTURE, and understand this, is INSPIRED, from the greek theopneustos, meaning DIVINELY BREATHED upon by God (2 TIm 3:16). Man, and get this as well, spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Spirit of God (2 Peter 1:21). I don't give man credit for the Bible, for it came not by their will but by the will of God.
@Pollther: The Trinity is the world's greatest lie as it totally contradicts the Bible and came by the will of man and not God almighty himself, Jesus Christ. To say 3 persons make up the Godhead contradicts scriptures such as 1 Tim 3:16, 1 John 5:7,8, Col 2:9, John 10:30, John 12:45, etc.. Need more book, I've got it for you.
1 John 5:7, KJB. Interestingly enough, you don't represent orthodox Christianity; most of your 'own kind,' (i.e., other Christians) would consider you a heretic for your denial of the trinity. In other words, the majority of those who profess faith in Christ believe you're free-falling straight into the lake of fire.
@Pollther: The rapture as many call it really is called the 1st Resurrection as noted by Revelation 20:6. A simultaneous extraction of the dead and the living in Christ. The 3 views about the rapture, or 1st resurrection, is Pre, Mid, Post. Honestly, it doesn't matter when it comes, just as long as when it comes that I'm resurrection ready for it by living according to the commandments, words and statues of the Only God, Lord Jesus Christ.
@Pollther: "If Vivekananda is in hell, I'll gladly join him." Now look how foolish that sounds. See, you speak evil of what you know not, as God calls it, natural brute beasts (2 Peter 2:12) who will utterly perish according to their ways. Not, I don't follow Men, Men, Men, but I follow God, God, God, and his name is Jesus, Jesus, Jesus Christ. It really IS that simple. Jesus Christ is God.
You know a tree by the fruit that it bears. Ramakrishna and Yogananda and Vivekananda have borne nothing but good fruit; a life of love and service to humanity. If the godliest, greatest spiritual exemplars of all time will be in hell, I'll be pleased to join them--because as far as I can tell, only bigots go to heaven.
@Pollther: Vivekananda, you go ahead and follow his teachings and see what happens to you when you perish. You go ahead and follow these so called holy men, which are nothing but false teachers and prophets which all will have their place in the lake of fire. Not a single one of them will be able to escape judgment. All of them all do the work of their father, the devil, who just like him abide not in the truth but distort it, twist it and feed their blasphemy to others. Its not right at all.
You have no moral compass if you're willing to follow a God that honors human sacrifice, the rape and pillage of entire ethnicities, deals infinite punishment for finite 'crimes,' etc., You're not on 'the right side' even if said god does exist; that's the point. The dictator is never 'right' because, as I said before, might does not make right. You evaded my question when I asked for a simple answer, so I'll ask again:
"Study to shew thyself approved," yet, you're willing to condemn Vivekananda without knowing a thing about him. It takes 3 seconds to copy, paste and google--and I'll bet my life's savings that you were too lazy to do even that!
@Pollther: And you, hypocrite, you are willing to follow this man to the lake of fire that will burn for eternity, a reward for the sinners and the ungodly who take not heed to the word of the Lord. Just remember, it is God who sends strong delusion so that those who believe, receive, obey and abide in the truth will believe in a lie.
How very loving of your so-called 'god.' I'll gladly accept this reward; there's more honor in suffering an eternity of torment for what I KNOW TO BE TRUE than to kowtow to the infantile threats of a depraved, disinteresting deity. If your god is real, I'm 100% justified in taking this stance.
@Pollther: And yes I do believe in doing research, for the word of the Lord says, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15). Thy word, oh God, is truth (John 17:17). Whatever doctrines you abide by, if its not all about Christ Jesus, then its of the adversary. And yes, I abide by what the scriptures say. I only abide by the word of God and not the teachings of deceived men. Heaven is my home and im on my way
If you had done your research you would've known that the Rapture doctrine originated in the 1800's with John Nelson Darby. You don't see a problem with God withholding 'the truth' from the Church for the first 1800 years?
I'd give my left-ankle for a chance to debate you in public; oh, to watch you scurry off the podium with your serrated tail between your legs, cloven-feet a clippity-clopping, horns receded in shame.
You can type in circles and evade and affirm, affirm, affirm all you want, but at the end of the day, your intellectual dishonesty is transparent. You're only fooling yourself.
@Pollther: The God I know and love, Jesus Christ, gave me not a spirit of fear, but of 3 things Power, Love and a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7). I have no need to fear the words of men such as yours, nor the philosophies of men after the traditions of this world such as yours, for they are all after the workings of the devil, which is the father of many for he abides not in the truth, just like you.
@Pollther: I'm very transparent. I'm a saint of God 24/7. I don't change the way I am to suit people, nor do I put on a show. The way you see me on Sunday is the same way I am on Monday - Saturday. My understanding all flows from the King of Kings who is Jesus Christ. I walk with him and am assure that he will not condemn me. Its a blessed walk, a wonderful life and when I see Jesus on the other side, I'll have eternity to spend with him. You too can have access to this and I want you to =).
"Its... a wonderful life and when I see Jesus on the other side, I'll have eternity to spend with him. You too can have access to this and I want you to"
Even if it's pure bliss, my conscience forbids me from becoming a Christian, just as my conscience forbids me to accept bribes. Your God isn't 'right' simply because he carries a big stick. I won't be coerced.
Do you hear what you're saying?
Finite crimes: infinite punishment. Try and defend it. You can't.
@Pollther: Hey Poll, just want you to know that Jesus loves you and so do I. Let's talk some more. And because I love you Poll with the love of God, I dare not deceive, but only want you turn from your current path which leads to damnation, and embrace the God which leads to eternal life, a blessed assurance, glory divine. Poll, the teachings of these man cannot save you. Only Jesus can. 1 second after you die is the wrong time to start getting a revelation of all this. Praying for you.
It comes down to 'the word of the Lord,' huh? So if it were written in the Bible that 'the moon is made of green cheese,' you'd have no choice but to believe it? If it said, "If you wish to inherit eternal life, kill your mother," you'd be sharpening your blade? Unbelievable!
If you answer only ONE question, answer this:
Is that which is good commanded by God because it's good, or is it good because God commands it?
@Pollther: Thus saith the Lord God, the holy one of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the King and Redeemer of Humanity. It is written Poll in Deuteronomy 6:24:
And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
It is also written
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
@Pollther: God is not unreasonable at all. why doesn't he want you to fornicate? Because there's such things as diseases. Why doesn't he want you to lie? Because no one will be able to trust you. Why does he want you to live holy as he is holy? because you live in a world that's defiled and corrupt and damned to hell ever since the beginning of time! Yet you call God unreasonable by criticizing everything that I have had to say. The words I speak are spirit and life, yet you choose death. why?
Wow, is that the best argument you have against 'fornication?' What if two people remain in a monogamous, unmarried relationship? That's perpetual fornication without the possibility of disease.
Your argument against lying is quite naive, as well. What if the lie becomes so thoroughly integrated into the liar that he's never found out?
'Holy' means little when it refers to a 'god' who commands the rape and pillage of other nations, roasts infants, etc.,
@Pollther: And once again, I mean to cause you no harm for the Bible says that peace should follow all men (Hebrews 12:14). And Poll, you are in the fire right now, and I want to get you the knowledge of salvation to get you out of it. Jesus Christ has nothing but good thoughts towards you, of peace and not evil, but in your heart and actions, you hate him as the world did since the very beginning. He's a good God, just give him a chance to transform your life. He loves you Poll so much.
I worship the sermon on the mount Jesus; not the one who curses fig trees or admonishes us to hate our family, or to pick up the sword. What transformation does your faith offer? I'm more devout than 99% of Christian adherents! My life, my limbs, my thoughts, my speech--all belong to God--but not the petty, warmongering god of the Bible. There can be no such god.
@Pollther: So don't fight me, for I speak the truth of the one and only living God, Jesus Christ. Because I love God, I love all mankind and will deal with you deceitfully . I must tell you the truth. The men you consider holy, they are unruly and ungodly. Their teachings cannot save you come judgment time for the hand of God is upon this world. I warn you, thus saith the Lord God, the creator of heaven and earth, turn from your wicked ways and to Jesus Christ.
Consonants and vowels, consonants and vowels. That's all. Same canards, same tired spiel. Fool me once--shame on you. Fool me twice...shame on me! You say my ways are wicked, but answer me this:
Are my ways wicked because God says so, or does God say so because my ways are wicked?
Jesus said, "You know a tree by the fruit that it bears."
You're repudiating the lives of men who loved God and loved humanity as their larger Self--good fruit, good trees. I cannot help but conclude that bad fruit falls from your tree..."Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh," you've uttered nothing but lies. Do some research.
@Pollther: All it takes is Obedience to him through his word. But a good start would be to just come to him and hearing what he says. By coming to him, i mean going to his house, an apostolic church, and hearing what the spirit has to say through the preached word of God, the goodness of God will lead you to repentance (Romans 2:4), and from repentance to salvation (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:4 James 1:22 ). When you make that step, all the things that I spoke of, you will experience for yourself.
If, 'in Him we live, and move, and have our being," there is no such place as "God's house." In Luke 17:21, Jesus says, "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for ...For lo, the kingdom of God is within you."
God's center is everywhere, circumference nowhere. I commune with Divine Mother each morning in the shrine of my meditation and She responds as peace, serenity, love--as the ever-present joy-throb of my heart. Why would I seek God in your church when He is the very ground of my being?
But if we were all one, there wouldn't have to be 6 billion different beings! You are not I and I am not you! (for example, if I was Tenzin I wouldn't be sitting here, but talking on this video.) We ARE different persons. BUT not necessarily cut off from each other (or the natural world) by psychological barriers!
I think she has really experienced that state of being! And furthermore, I'll bet that she is too humble to say that she can go into that state at will, whenever she wants! Amazing!!!! I think we can all do that, right here, in this lifetime!
Thank you for your kind response. I live in Taiwan, so it's hard to find a teacher who speaks English, even in this country which is largely Buddhist. I'll keep trying. Thanks!
I really love this lady. Very cool. My question is an odd one. Why would this pure, non-dual, unborn awareness choose to manifest in samsara, suffering, and duality?
kirk7524875248-- I'm definitely not sure about this, but I think that's one of those questions that Buddhists would say you'll be able to answer for yourself once you're enlightened. I think a Zen teacher might bang the floor in response to your question, while a Tibetan teacher might say more words, but still leave it up to you. I'm no teacher though! If you really want to know, I'd recommend going to see a trustworthy, legit teacher and asking them yourself.
I LOVE it!!!!! Thank You, Thank you for such an honest and open response! Finally, somebody says, "I don't know!" Greatness. I've had nothing but paultry answers until now. Even the Buddha could only narrow it down to "Consciousness and Form". And those two things, apparently entertwine infinitely. Thank you mmministerygoodness. Me must meet some day, in this life or the next! Love -Kirk
mindfull oneness=knowing we are one in the godhead [who gives all wisdon ; knowing all being all]
seek that oneness within sustaining us [all] to live[to live to love, to see love ;be love [realise the living grace within ,love of self and other , love of all]
our oneness lies within that life sustaining all life [god]the all of our oneness living all lifes love [realised in us all] one at a time ,one to one
methinks there's too much rationale trying to hold this all together. all of these things you're talking are just concepts (confusing ones at that), and the truth of the matter, whatever you want to call it, is non-conceptual. it must be known it the heart--pure and true and complete--not it the intellect...
in Buddhism there is no "one" giving wisdom. wisdom is in fact natural and self-occurring when things are seen as they really are.
Thank you so much for these videos of Ven. Tenzin Palmo. After living and studying overseas for many years it is nice to hear a Western teacher who has not combined Tibetan Buddhism with other religous/humanistic teachings. Her teachings are true to her teachers, which shows us that if you study and practice diligently you will not need to augment or enhance Tibetan Buddhism with "other" types of teachings.
The identification with a false sense of an "I" or ego is the identification with all forms of phenomena including mental phenomena. In this identification we cannot see our Buddha-nature or the noumena.

WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod: Oh no, I'm very correct. If you regard any other man's teachings then the teachings of Almighty God, Jesus Christ, my friend, you are deceived and living it in. Buddhism is nothing more than idol worship and according to the Bible. idol worshipers, unless they turn from their lonesome wage of sin, which Jesus will condemn no one that comes to him, will be cast in the fire to be burned. The teachings are foolish and so are the men teaching them. Simple.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
Jesus Loves you, died for you, and will save you if you let him. He desires no one, even the false teachers, to perish but that they would come to repentance. Same with you. He has power, grace, his spirit, name, truth, blessings and revelation to give you, and all these things lead to a forever changed person. Harden not your heart, but turn to God, Jesus Christ, and I promise you, you will never be the same for I am a witness of his power. And besides, he will be here any minute now.

Jesus was an ascetic and a mystic; one becomes a 'Christian' by following his example (i.e., by becoming an ascetic mystic.)
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: Absolutely for Christ is our great example and his word is the only example that anyone who seeks to be enlightened should follow. Balance, Tranquility and Peace are all taught by the Bible, so what need is there for any other extra-biblical accounts other than what Jesus Christ, the only God, has taught? One becomes a christian once they have been born again (Acts 2:38), received the holy spirit (Acts 2:4) and are living holy (James 1:22).
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
None of the authors of those books knew Jesus personally. Your point?
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: And the reason why you made that comment is that you have not a revelation of the name of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus Christ is the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I can qualify that for you by using several scriptures, but the one you are to pay attention to is Isaiah 9:6. Clearly that shows the identity of Jesus being fully God (Divinity) and Man (Humanity). Now let me give you two other scriptures to look at: 2 Tim 3:16 & 2 Peter 1:20-21.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Paul never met Christ (except in a 'vision') and the authorship of Peter's epistle is quite controvertible. According to The Oxford Bible Commentary, p. 1263,
Pollther 1 year ago
Pollther 1 year ago
...It employs a sophisticated vocabulary incorporating several NT hapax legomena, and its author appears to have some command of the techniques of Hellenistic rhetoric.

WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Nope, that's a narrow, sectarian interpretation of one of the world's greatest mystics.
Pollther 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod: So looking at the scriptures i listed to you, its clear to see Jesus, who is God and Man, inspired holy men to write the scriptures as they were moved on by the holy spirit, his spirit. So yes they knew who Jesus was, from Moses right down to Paul, they all knew him, where known of him. How can a qualify this? See Lk 24:44 & Acts 19:15.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@Pollther: In Luke 24:44, we see that the Moses, prophets, psalms wrote concerning him, Jesus Christ. The ONLY way they could have wrote that way besides being moved upon by his spirit, was that they had a relationship with him. They walked with him daily, knew him and had a revelation of who he was AND what he looked like. The only thing they knew not was his name because it was not time for them to know it. Just because they didn't know his name didn't stop him from being Jesus Christ.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
A simpler, more likely explanation is that the Gospel accounts were manufactured with the 'fulfillment' of the 'prophecies' in mind. Strike one.
"They walked with him daily."
Strike two. None of the gospel accounts are eyewitness chronologies.
Pollther 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Luke never met any historical Jesus.
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: the above is meant for you to read. Take a look at Acts 19:15. Even the demon associated Paul with Jesus. How could that have been if Paul didn't know Jesus personally or somehow been marked by him? You explain that one. The ones who didn't know Jesus Christ, the vagabond Jews, didn't know him like Paul did, and the demon using that man beat them severely. So yes, from the prophets right down, they ALL KNEW Jesus Christ but some of the knew his name and others didn't, i e Moses.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
No, none of them encountered the Christ of history (who was most likely a mythic composite of who-knows-how-many Savior gods.)

Pollther 1 year ago
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: I'm free from sin, death from the grave. Because my God, Jesus Christ, with his death on the cross, burial and resurrection, BEAT DEATH and is resurrected on high and made an open show of the devil! He's assured me that as long as I am obedient to the word, confirmed in his word (Mark 16:16), i will be resurrected with the church, no not building, but from the greek ekklesia meaning to be called out. Im living holy unto God and am assured that he never leaves nor forsakes me Mt 28:19
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
I deny the validity of the concept of 'sin,' and furthermore--death.
In the Bhagavad Gita (2:19), Lord Krishna tells us that "He who thinks that the living entity is the slayer or that the entity is slain does not understand. One who is in knowledge knows that the self slays not nor is slain."
You have your scriptures, I have mine.
If God gave us the faculty of reason, He expects us to use it. Is it God's will that you should appeal to dogma and authority instead, spurning His gift?
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: But this is the best part. I know that when I face Jesus Christ on judgment day, that I have a place with my Master him in heaven because I obeyed only the word of God and NO OTHER teacher than him while . But I will make this plain: You obey ANYONE else other that God almighty, Jesus Christ, when YOU die, because you will, you will die lost and are left to him now. The Bible says it and that's the only word I will accept, not any of the teachings of Buddhism or any other doctrine.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@Pollther: The ultimate equalizer of us all death and you cannot debate that. The belief in reincarnation is devilish because you are only born once in this life. The born again experience Jesus spoke of us was a spiritual birth, because believe it or not, your soul has a body. And that born again experience quickens your soul! Besides you have NEVER seen anyone come back from the grave to tell you anything, and if you say you did, what you saw was a demon who took on the form of the departed.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Your dismissal of reincarnation is laughable, because you refuse to apply the same standard to your own unproven, unprovable beliefs.
As for death, I know not of what you speak. When Alexander the Great threatened to cut off the head of a naked monk, the monk retorted,
"O Alexander! Never in your life did you speak such a falsehood, such an abominable lie. Kill Me, kill Me, kill Me!
Where is the sword that can kill Me? Where is the weapon that can wound Me...

Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: You are mistaken and do err in that kind of defiled worship/praying. In Deuteronomy 6:4, it is written, "Hear ye oh Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord" not two, three or four, but One. If you praying to all of them, you can't be praying to him as no servant can have 2 masters (Matt 6:24). If you believe Jesus love is so much greater, which no man can completely fathom, then why not listen to what he says and be obedient to him? Babji will not save you come judgment. Only Jesus can!
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod

The Bible was written by an insecure, aggrandizing people. Archaelogical evidence shows that the 'cities' of David and Solomon were more like 'villages.' Biblical writers downplayed the Canaanite's culture when, in fact, it was more advanced than Israel's.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

What reason do we have to accept Paul's so-called revelation? None. The Bible didn't fall from the sky, the books were hand-picked and canonized by church 'fathers' with their own theological biases and agendas. Do you accept the Gospel of Thomas?
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: All scripture is inspired by God. As his spirit moved over men, they wrote, scroll down for I already covered that topic. You can sit here and try to disprove all that I say with your approach typical of the Pharisees, it still doesn't change the word of God nor his requirements. As far as that gospel, its not in the Bible. And according to Gal 1:9, any other gospel, or word, outside of the Bible is to be rejected, simple. There is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ period.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago

If reason and common sense is the Pharisaical approach, count me among them.
Pollther 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod Your approach seems quite myopic. This is a big world with a long history and you cling to words on a page but what about the heart? Where do you think the backbone of religion came from? Have you read the bible lately. It's words were intrinsic to the time in which it was written. The god of love was very much a god of fury, pain and destruction of older religions based on peace. It's a mistake to write '...any other...word, outside of the Bible is to be rejected..'
Larnsey 1 year ago
@Larnsey: Thus saith the Lord God, the maker of heaven and earth, the only God. It is he who hardens hearts. It is he who sends a spirit of strong delusion once a person receives not the truth, but will allow them to believe a lie. You see, death is the ultimate equalizer which NO ONE can escape. And the Bible says in Rev 20:11-15, that the dead both great and small, that's everyone, shall appear before the throne of judgment in which Jesus will sit and judge according to everyone's works.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
So, God hardens people's hearts. Ok, point accepted. Why are you wasting your time trying to remove the dirt that God Himself put in our eyes?
Pollther 1 year ago

WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
You have no proof for any of your assertions. Your concept of God is incoherent and untenable. Jesus never existed; you've never been to either heaven or hell--and furthermore, to preach such doctrines renders our life here on earth ultimately meaningless. In other words, you're a blasphemer.
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: When you meet Jesus Christ on judgment day, because you will, you tell him all of this. You call me a blasphemer, yet I speak as the spirit of the Lord teaches me (John 16:13, Psalm 32:8). You call the doctrine I preach lifeless, but the word of the Lord says where HIS spirit IS, there IS liberty (2 Cor 3:17). You call my concept of God incoherent and untenable, yet the words I speak, God almighty spoke and taught.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
No, clearly, these are the words of men. If what you're saying is correct, nothing in this life makes any difference; we're lolly-gagging and loitering til' judgment day--just as puppets dancing on God's string. It's God's will that we should relinquish the use of our reason, empty our minds, and accept this proposal without question; in other words, we should take everything that makes us human--everything that makes life rich--and flush it down the loo.
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: And you are right, I've never been to heaven or hell. I know I'm going to heaven because I not only am a reader, but doer of the word and a living witness of the power of Jesus Christ. And as he warned many of Hell as to avoid it, I listen, obey his instruction and have a relationship with him. you can criticize my very words. I'm rather honored for Jesus, my heavenly Father was also criticized for the words he spoke, which are of Spirit and are life.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Pollther 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Pollther 1 year ago

But Poll, your comments STILL will not stop me for praying those such as yourselves that have been held back from the Truth by men who distort it.
Men. Men. Men.
If Vivekananda is in hell, I'll gladly join him.

WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Since the NT canon had not yet been assembled, what 'scriptures' were being referenced by Paul in 2 Tim. 3:16?
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: The Trinity is the world's greatest lie as it totally contradicts the Bible and came by the will of man and not God almighty himself, Jesus Christ. To say 3 persons make up the Godhead contradicts scriptures such as 1 Tim 3:16, 1 John 5:7,8, Col 2:9, John 10:30, John 12:45, etc.. Need more book, I've got it for you.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@WarfareSpiritForGod
Pollther 1 year ago
@Pollther: The rapture as many call it really is called the 1st Resurrection as noted by Revelation 20:6. A simultaneous extraction of the dead and the living in Christ. The 3 views about the rapture, or 1st resurrection, is Pre, Mid, Post. Honestly, it doesn't matter when it comes, just as long as when it comes that I'm resurrection ready for it by living according to the commandments, words and statues of the Only God, Lord Jesus Christ.
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago
@Pollther: "If Vivekananda is in hell, I'll gladly join him." Now look how foolish that sounds. See, you speak evil of what you know not, as God calls it, natural brute beasts (2 Peter 2:12) who will utterly perish according to their ways. Not, I don't follow Men, Men, Men, but I follow God, God, God, and his name is Jesus, Jesus, Jesus Christ. It really IS that simple. Jesus Christ is God.

Yet you call God unreasonable by criticizing everything that I have had to say. The words I speak are spirit and life, yet you choose death. why?
WarfareSpiritForGod 1 year ago

Wow, is that the best argument you have against 'fornication?' What if two people remain in a monogamous, unmarried relationship? That's perpetual fornication without the possibility of disease.
Your argument against lying is quite naive, as well. What if the lie becomes so thoroughly integrated into the liar that he's never found out?
'Holy' means little when it refers to a 'god' who commands the rape and pillage of other nations, roasts infants, etc.,
