The game does indeed have a serious tone. It's story is about revenge after all. Of course, this is all drawn from the manual, I can't read the in game text because it's too small.
Except the game looks very cartoonish for having a dark story. Also, the game has very catchy music. The story is almost similar to Double Dragon II except it's not your friend you're avenging, it's your family. But... do you know how to reach the true final boss?
Milestone generally likes using cell shading in their games. Radirgy and it's coming sequal has it, this game has it, Illvelo has it, etc. The only one of their games that don't use cell shading is Chaos Field.
As for the True Last Boss, you have to get all five Milestone icons (1 for each stage) on hard mode to trigger it. You can continue and still reach the TLB. I haven't made it there myself yet, since I'm having trouble on hard.
I heard about that criteria many times, and I tried doing that many times, but without success. How do you expect me to perform that criteria? I can find the icons in the first two stages, but I can't find the other icons in the other three stages!
Early Dubstep? Glad this game came to the dreamcast even though it was already dead.
