I do like and appreciate those kind of artists. They did a huge thing in their ages and we unfortunately had not many like them. Start everything off the scratch is hard and not many artists can do that. Actually currently, what matters to many of our artists is to sing some cheap (mostly rap) songs and get popular and of course our ppl are helping them in their ways too!

On the other hands, one of the reasons to stop us from improving is bounds for bands to work properly inside the country.

Just produce some routine songs, and songs that are almost all the same we some minor differences. I like to see somebody start everything off the scratch. we had "ali naghi vaziri" who did it a century ago, then nothing in that matter up to the "hezar dastan" ost. I like to see somebody influenced by them making a rock song. listen to tool for instance. they are so influenced by our music. That is the way our country has worked for the past 35 years and it has been going down from the beginning.

When you copy, you dont improve; you just fool yourself that you have something. There is such thing as originality and putting Iranian lyrics on top of someone elses music is not it. Neither imitating someones style, nor combining bunch of different things. There is fusion and there is mixing.

I don't know Ballgard much but we DID NEED singers and bands like "Mohsen Namjoo" and "Kiosk", not just now, but so long ago! It doesn't depend upon whether anyone like them or not; they certainly are playing a big role in changin and improving iranian music.
