  • what age is the flint arrowhead

  • @ittaiman not sure. i don't know a lot about arrowheads

  • awesome where is this

  • no but i would like to hunt for them somewere it might be fun is it

    fun

  • Also let me add to the one person dbeachgross.. who commented. " that has to be fake " .. Really dude... always one in the crowd.. Try getting out

  • This is really great to see. A father and his son enjoying the outdoors without cables attached. My son and I go shark teeth hunting in Venice Fl. I really love the fact you can find them in the river like that. Check out my meg I found on a land site. benmullins2010 Sorry that i spelled megalodon wrong. You will see the root. Enjoy your hunting.

  • For some reason, all I can think watching this video is SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!

  • you have a hawk eye @_@

  • do you sell the teeth?

  • @house2011owns probably not

  • @house2011owns i sell the broken teeth but I keep all the complete ones.

  • how old is your son

  • @awsomeguy844 he's 11 now.

  • @blackriverfossils Where is the address to go to in Summerville??? I have a HUGE meg tooth collection of over 30..with my biggest being 5 1/2. But I got them from Bill Eberlein at Megateeth Fossils, and I want to find some myself, without actually having to blackwater dive like he does. Too dangerous.

  • That has got to be fake

  • wow thats a lot of tiger shark tooth

  • werer some goodplaces to hunt near columbia, SC

  • @theshirtlesswonder1 sorry i don't know any places near columbia to hunt fossils

  • @the100dagirlz the shark teeth are very old, from many millions of years ago when ocean levels were higher and this part of SC was underwater. We find them in a ditch because when it rains, the water erodes the teeth from the geologic formation where they were deposited.

  • Mako: Pronounced MAKE-O. When I was younger, I went with a family friend to a little river in north Mississippi and found so many shark teeth. They were mostly Mako and Tiger shark teeth

  • WOW!!! So very cool. I just wanted to know if there are any spots i could look that r in texas. I just wondered cuz im only 17 nd ya i cant go traveling nd parents r uber busy. Plus i find this Maglodon very fasinating, this is the second time ive heard of this amazingly enormous shark. The first was on discovery or animal planet idk which one, but yah so very cool.

  • @MsPirateprincess1 sorry but I don't know any spots in Texas to find megalodon teeth. There are other types of fossil shark teeth and other types of fossils there though. Check out the Texas fossils section of my web site (google "black river fossils"), to see what kinds.

  • hey do u know any good places to look for shark teeth in miami florida

  • @luist966 the closest places I know of are north of you. The Peace River and Venice Beach. Good luck!

  • @blackriverfossils thanks im only a 12 year old boy i love collectin shark teeth so i will ask my dad to take me to venice beach;) thanks for the tip

  • That is so fake

  • gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvtttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • That there is real hunting finding arrowheads and Meg teeth at the same time

  • We are heading to South Carolina this weekend. Where in Summersville should be stop to find crekks like this one. My boys love hunting sharks teeth at the beach and love fossil hunting.

  • @dougandnjenny to find big teeth like we did in this video, you have to go someplace where people don't go much. we just got lucky and no one had been here in a while. if you like beach collecting, you can try Edisto Beach. its not far from summerville

  • What sort of rivers/streams to you look for these in? [I live in Alabama and I'd like to go hunting for teeth myself]. Where would I go about looking or who would I go about asking?

  • @alabamabeaver start off by getting a geologic map of alabama. the map will give you ages and names of formations. when you look up the formations, you'll find out what kind of fossils can be found. then look where streams and rivers cross those formations and go exploring. when you're exloring streams, look in gravel piles and deeper areas where heavy stuff gets deposited for fossils. good luck!

  • @blackriverfossils where would i find a map? I looked online but its not doing much to help me. Apparently my area is highly Cambrian, mississippian, ordovician, permian and devonian. Will I have any luck finding teeth?

  • @alabamabeaver sorry if this comes twice, but you probably won't find any teeth in sediments that old. you might have to drive. a friend of mine found teeth in alabama in a place called andalusia

  • DUDE! I live in Summerville there is a little creek near my house in the forest any chance you were near Ladson or Lincolnville? Also how does shark teeth get in creeks?

  • @AnimalExpert1000 this place is only a few miles from the creek you're talking about. shark teeth get into the creeks by water erosion. the teeth rinse out of the fossil formations that were deposited here when the ocean was much higher.

  • Awesome video. Looks like an awesome spot.

  • where is that place?

  • @asdasdasd730 it is in Summerville, SC

  • i found a 5 in. meg tooht in calvert cliffs and its not easy, how do find all thouse really nice teeth where do you think has more big and nice teeth summerville or calvert cliffs? how many megs do you think you found ???

  • @thesmall4 congrats on the 5 inch meg. no its not easy to find the big ones. on this hunt i found one of those rare places where nobody had been for a while. i think there are more teeth in calvert cliffs because they are geographically much larger than the summerville area. they are nicer for the most part. but i do believe there are bigger teeth here in Summerville. i found a bunch over 5 inches.

  • i dont know if you wil read this but please dont stop making your videos!!!!!!!!!!! you the only one i can watch find shark teeth please continue!

  • @terroraria128 don't worry about that! I love making videos of finding shark teeth and I will keep doing it as long as I can. thanks for watching!

  • Hey blackriverfossils I found my first meg tooth today. Just a partial but prolly about 3 inches

  • @Jakecshmn congrats on the meg tooth! I still remember my first one.

  • what i think is funny is there are tiger shark teethe and great white teethe that date back a cuple thousand years. and they are still alive. well they found a megaldon toothe that dates back 2-4 thousand years ago. im sure there are teethe from great whites and lemon sharks and hammer head and tigers that date back that far to. so whats that mean? that means the megaldon may still be alive.. at least thats what i think about it

  • @sporto32 no one can prove you wrong huh?

  • @blackriverfossils well its possible i might have got the info wrong by a while but i heard that few years back

  • Awesome I'm gonna have to go scope out some places. That's crazy, the best shark tooth video I find was filmed right near the area I live.

  • @Jakecshmn yah man do it. its worth it. go anywhere there is a a hole in the ground. river, ditch, creek, stream, pond, excavation, etc. You're looking for roundish smooth gravel. the teeth are in that. be respectful of laws and definitely don't tresspass but the lowcountry is a great place to hunt shark teeth. if you're persistent you'll definitely succeed.

  • Is that place posted or can anyone go there? I'm out in charleston I been finding alot of smaller teeth but I wanna find some larger ones

  • @Jakecshmn its public property.

  • Wow

  • Hey, what creek (or river) are you guys at? I wanna go there very badly. :)

  • there are some posts on my site from a place called walton on the naze. scroll down homepage (google black river fossils) and look for the section titled United Kindom Trip Reports.

  • im in the UK and is there anywhere to go in my country

  • this is a great and fun video! i love looking for sharks teeth, but i never thought of looking in creeks!

  • i have the smallest shark tooth ever.it's about the size of this period->.

  • i've never hunted in OK before, but I know there are shark teeth in Texas and in Kansas, so its possible. the whole central US used to be under a shallow sea during the cretaceous. it might be worth a look. Even if you don't find shark teeth, you might find some arrowheads. good luck!

  • @blackriverfossils if you've ever read the readings of Edgar Cayce you'll see that in 2100 Nebraska will be a coastal land mass once again. He says the great lakes will dump into the gulf of mexico via the mississippi river basin. Think about it,shark fishing in Nebraska, cool...

  • so dude i live in oklahoma would there be any shark teeth in central oklahoma creeks

  • Dude, I pulled out my Meg collection last night when I was bored and I got stoked again. I have one that is just under 7 inches and a ton in the 6 inch range and I remembered how much fun it was when I was 7. 20 years later and I am getting

This video got me back into it.

  • damn you guys must of had a back pack full of goodies from that creek

  • dude your pretty good at this

  • thanks alot! that really helped! one other question, where do you find all these creeks and stuff? would any of the creeks in summerville have this many teeth? also, when would be the best time to go?

  • @MrCool18yrs i found most of them by driving around looking for them after researching maps online. some creeks in summerville have fossils, some don't. the best time to go at dawn after a heavy thunderstorm the night before. i say dawn because there are so many other collectors that if you don't get out there early most of the stuff is gone.

  • @blackriverfossils But wouldnt most creeks fill up with water? I know the sawmill branch cana does.

  • Hey this is awesome! we just got back from Wild Dunes which is about 50 miles from there. next year i was going to drive over there and look for shark teeth myself. i was wondering if you had any tips on where to go or how to look for them. i would appriciate it!

  • @MrCool18yrs google black river fossils and go to my site. i'd give you the link but youtube won't allow it. read about the SC fossil hunts and you'll find out more than you ever wanted to know.

  • This is too good to be true. Megalodon teeth??? Your crazy man

  • @iR800lbGORILLA its real dude. we find them a lot. google black river fossils and you'll see what I'm talking about.

  • @iR800lbGORILLA they have Megalodon Shark teeth on ebay that are real

  • I've hunted much of the low country, wish I had had my search mode on for fossil teeth. are you guys not seeing any spotted turtles or sirens or other turtles? that's what I was looking for. great finds.

  • @4202cvinc we don't see a lot of turtles but when we do i try to video them.

  • great video!!

  • damn, i wish my dad spent time with me as a kid. note that i am 15yrs old.

  • lol mosqitoe on the boy

  • were is this place please tell. my dad wants to take me there for my birth day but all we know is its in summerville sc where is it?

  • good job u guys im a big fan and i wish i can find teeth tht big...keep up the good hunting

  • where are you at in summerville SC?

  • Hey i was wondering where did you go in south carolina and where was the place that you went to find megladon teeth?, cause i have been wanting to find a megladon tooth all my life.

  • @729Chance just look in the sawmill branch canal around town!

  • we almost moved there a year ago. I would have had quite a collection by now if I had moved. Love your vidoes blackriverfossils :)

  • u guyz got an amazing area for fossil hunting. U dont know how fricin jealous i am:D

  • me and my g/f have a spot in goose creek we found 3 pretty big megalodon teeth and lots of smaller ones. and we found some at the goose creek reservoir. i know people don't like sharing there spots but do you know any others that you wouldn't mind telling us about?

  • Awesome video. You guys are great! Thanks for posting

  • dude this is one of my fav videos of all time! I hunt arrowheads nonstop here in Indianapolis but I wish I could hunt for those shark teeth too! Is there any teeth in my area? Probably a dumb question. lol You are a really good dad, every son should have a dad like you bro. Be e z and good hunting!!

  • @twanpoint1 well man theres probably some type of teeth in every creek, you just gotta look... it was all underwater at one point so take a shot at it and see if you find somethin!

  • amazing video's

  • where is this because im going to sc in 3months

  • Yall are killin me!!! LOL AWESOME CREEKS!

  • Looks like you planted these teeth to make an interesting video

  • @tempest2002 wow, nice observation!

  • wow great video

  • nice finds!

  • Wow, that's amazing. Why are there so many teeth concentrated here?

  • For one, this was the first time we hit this spot, but the teeth were there because of the geologic past of SC. the ocean level has been rising and falling for millions of years, and those cycles redistribute the fossils through erosion. Water has a tendency to sort things with similar shapes (like bones and teeth) so they end up together. Some spots end up with high fossil concentrations, while others in close proximity can be sporadic or even barren.

  • @blackriverfossils which creek?

  • Is it possible to find these all in one place???

  • yes it is possible, but not common.

  • In summerville sc Berkely county side,,Hemipristis ,,commonly called snaggle tooth may have been relatd to modern day tigers,,but the tiger shark you find from this period are called galeocerdos...most of these fossils are from the miocene period,,18 million years ago ,,give or take a few million

....Last but not least,,sharks have a conveyor belt of teeth, they are constantly growing new rows and loosing the older ones,,so one shark might loose hundreds and hundreds of teeth over its lifetime,

  • Looks similiar to the creek behind my old house off Royale road and behind Sangaree Elementary school,,I founds lots of Museum quality fossils in that creek,,its no where near as nice as it used t be before they built a new subdivision there and filled in part of the creek and silted up the hold thing

  • Comment removed

  • 2:48 is´nt a Hemipristis an extinct tiger shark?;-)

  • This brings me back to when I was a kid living in Summerville, and behind our house in the woods, was the Ashley River, and we used to find teeth just like this. I went back years later to the same spot, and they had built homes right up near it and you couldn't find anything.

  • there were that many sharks millions of years ago? Nice finds!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow that was a great hunt. I wish I had a creek like that, Im to affraid to dive because of the sharks this spot would be perfect!
