This is a really great bass with a HUGE variety of sounds! You can get the high end and low tones out of it beautifully for a descent price! I'm getting it in vampyre red satin but 6 string
i would say to anyone go for this. i got the 5 string version... 3 years ago and i love it. in december (2010) i got a fender american standard jazz bass. its a great bass but i keep coming back to this bass. the sound options are amazing and it just feels right. :)
@SuperGuitarMark I don't own this bass (yet), but I do plan on getting it. This bass goes for $550 brand new, so if the condition of the one you're looking at is good for you I'd say go for it.
This is my dream bass!! My friend owns the stiletto studio 5 and that bass is awesome, it's so easy to play! I want to get this bass but in a 5 string but I want to know if it's as easy to play as the studio model!
I would definitely say so. I feel like i can wrap my hand around the neck much further than I can on my Squier P-bass. Also, the bass is very lightweight -- if that helps at all.
well it depends on the amp your usin too. but yes. i had my settings on the bass set to high end and on the amp the high was all the way up. but yah you can turn high down and put low all the way up. put mid up all the way and its even better. i just played 2 gigs today and needed a lot of low and it worked out pretty good.
hey i'm just about to buy this bass. and i was just wondering what that first slap and pop groove you played was? did you just make it up or is it a song? it sounds so familiar.
hey i am interested in this bass. I know a lot of schecter guitars have thinner necks. Is this true for that bass? How is the action and playability? Seems like its really nice
Yes. This bass does have a slimmer neck (when i think about it) compared to my Squier P bass. The action that the bass had in its factory setting was terrible. it was buzzing on every fret. but it's easily adjustable. except i still notice a little buzzing here and there, but that's nothing a little truss rod adjustment cant fix (although im too lazy to do that). the playability is very good. the neck is fast and the bass has a nice crisp tone.
from the point of view watching me play bass. the top nob is master volume, it controls both pick ups. the bottom nob is mid frequency. the right (closest to the neck) controls high frequency. the left controls low frequency. im pretty sure that's right- if not, someone correct me.
Hahah, nah I'm not much of a Tool player. I just heard the Schism bassline and thought it was cool so I taught myself it.
And yes, you get a incredible tone from the Stiletto Custom. 3 Knobs on it (other than volume) control mid, high, and low frequencies for a variety of different sounds.
NICE! I happened across your video while looking for reviews on the Schecter Custom 4, which my daughter fell in love with when she tried it out today. She tried about 20 different models, priced from $400 up to $6000 (YIKES), but she says THIS is the one for her. She's 10 and she's been playing a short-scale Gretsch for about 2 years. Now that you've been playing it a few months, do you still like the Schecter?
@robyncz indeeeeed sir. The bass is amazing. I like to especially play jazz on it. I notice that if I play fast rock with steady notes, there is some buzzing in the frets. That can be adjusted with action adjustment as well as truss rod adjustment though. I'm just too dumb to know how to do it. Sooo yah the bass is a looker. I got it and i couldn't take my eyes off it. The neck is really fast and it plays great. I recommend it for your daughter, she'll get a lot out of it.
@Genkakuzai I think it was... $450? i don't really remember. you can look up the price on guitarcenter(dot)com. and hahaha. i'm neither a pisces nor a taurus.
Cool bass dude, what year is it? i have a 2007 schecter stilleto extreme 5 in blackcherry finish with black hardware...amazing bass
