Aik and Dif have been rivals since the the ending of 19th century. Hard to same some characteristics but I will try, Aik got D.Tärnström, David engblom and so one. Dif got Jimmie Ölvestad, Markus nilsson, Ragnarsson etc.

Aik and Dif are rivals in all sports but most in soccer, aik and dif hate eachother.

It's just that AIK is from Solna (one part of the city) and DIF is from Djurgården (another part of the city)... Well the rivalry is mainly because of the fact that they are in the same city! But it is also known that DIF fans are a little more over classed and AIK is more working class but of course it's very individual and both teams have different sorts of fans.

In my opinion AIK has the better fans because they are louder on the arena and there are a better atmosphere on AIKs games, especially in football! Djurgården is also near a zoo, which have made DIF the apes (monkeys) which is an insult and often on derbies AIK fans bring bananas to DIF as a joke!

One are tickets where you sit and just watch the game and the other is called ståplatser which in english translate to standing seats, and that is called the "klack", which is the part of the supporters who together sing songs about the team and it just amazing the atmosphere you can build when the "klack" is big and loud! And finally both teams have hooligans firms which fight each other, and DIF and AIK have the biggest firms in Sweden so maybe thats one reason for the rivalry...
