  • Super !!!

  • Truly avant gard!!!! It is still amazing to see how woman are looked at and been treated throughout history. Not just in an Iranian society but also some societies like the Japanese and African, etc. Even religion has been very harsh to woman!!! With woman like Shirin, woman will, once again, rule the world for years to come!!! :D

  • What does the text on the hands and feet mean???

  • @hit004541 They are poems from an Iranian poet named Tahereh Saffarzadeh. I'm not sure what each poem means.

  • BEAUTIFUL VIDEO. FANTASTIC ARTIST.

  • wonderfuuul :) <3

  • grande artista,grande donna!

  • Neshat´s work is an invitation to open a dialog between the cultures.

    Congratulations for this awesome video!

  • your work touches me I want to express my respect and admiration for you

  • EXCELLENT PHOTOS. They show the dept of the misery of women in Iran. It is not just hejab by itself a problem it is a tool with which they stop us from all other things. If it were not for Iranian women resistance the last 29 years Iran would have been another Saudi Arabia long before. The Iranian men should start to use chador too both to protest and to see how it is to wear that and live with that all the time. For those who want Islamic government why do not you go to live in Arabia ?

  • @jahankhatoon1 I think the problem is that there are people who believe that they can add laws to Sharia and make life more oppressing when, in reality, these "laws" have nothing to do with Islam

  • What's with you and copy and pasting these things?

  • long live the islamic republic of iran...the hope of billions on the planet for justice and freedom!

  • free all people from enslavement from the islamic satanic iri,

WE SHAILL OVER COME, YES WE CAN........FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY WILL

  • brilliant works of art...by a brilliant artist...

  • Amazing Shirin. Such a magnificent impressions.

    Doorood Bar Fekret.........

    God Bless Free Iran.

Women = Men that is what True Persia is, not IRAN today.

Hell with suppression, fight the fight Brave Iranian Women.

I am humble to your talent and Proud to be a Persian Man. IRAN IRAN IRAN, My Beloved Country.

  • If you people dont understand art please dont write stuff that doesnt make any sense. I think she is one of the best Iranian artist Ive ever seen...

  • Love it! 1 July 2009, just 25 days til my birthday, and I've found a new favorite artist. What a blessed world.

  • Women without men & men without women, the creation of a nightmare. The destruction & withholding of beauty. The gender war is an absolute obstacle to evolution on this planet. The perfect imbalance that gives birth to incredible hatred against the self life and others. No love is aloud in separation. Blame Shame Guilt. that was the message that I saw in part of the video. Sometimes exhiles see the bigger picture & gain a greater experience. Dante is an example. Thankyou Shirin

  • Neshat's parents were upper middle-class. She grew up in a westernized household that adored the Shah of Iran and his ideologies. Neshat has stated about her father, He fantasized about the west, romanticized the west, both my parents did.

Neshat left Iran to study art in Los Angeles. It was about this time that the Iranian Revolution occurred.

one must ask what right does she have to produce these work and call it Iranian?

  • She is Iranian simply because she was born in Iran and she lived there until she was an adult....just because she now lives in another country doesn't take away her heritage.... there are millions of Iranians who live in other parts of the world... and, by the way, there are millions of Iranians living in Iran who still idealize the west...

  • I'm not talking about peo-west or otherwise. The fact remains that these works portray an Iran that is not the Iran she lived in. she herself says that she lived in Islamic Repulic for 2 years only and the inspiration comes from that, and she compares it to "other Muslim Countries". A true Iranian would not compare Iran like that. Our history is 2500 years old and we have nothing to do with Islam which has been forced on us. She should not be allowed to represent Iran this way.

  • OK...that is a very good point TUniqueUK...I can't argue with what you are saying...I, myself, agree with your point of view about Iran NOT being an Islamic country 100%...

Thanks for sharing your views with me.

  • i dont understand the message shes trying to portray...
