We are undervalueing the importance of someone being in front of your child for 8 hours ago. i was top of my class in art but i dropped out cos i didnt like what they were teaching. i was always top of my class and i did feck all. just listened, didnt do homework half the time, i was told to drop to lower level for most of my exams and still did great by not doing what i was told. i have loads of hobbies that i was never taught, i learned myself with no guidance or help. and i dont know anyone with similar likes/interests/hobbies. teaching yourself is the best way i think.

I'm at school right now i'm 14, The kids sit there and accept what they're told, theres no such thing as individuality in schools. Most are led to believe life is all about your grades. I have been threatened about being exspelled (removed from school perm) for speaking against it.

I know it all too well. I went thought the Swiss "education" system, and have taught at a big private school in Bangkok in Thailand for over 3 years.
