  • the problem is here that coca is by far the most profitable thing possible to grow for these farmers (among the poorest on earth). the price is driven up by worldwide prohibition, which also causes international pressure on the government to crack down on it. latin american government crackdowns usually involve bullets, so this is definitely a step up.

  • how about we leave this country alone

    legalize personal freedom

    free market

  • I understand what you're saying. we should leave them alone. start by kicking the american companies who own all of the wealth in latin american. continue by not meddling in their affairs, and forcing them to crack down on coca sellers.

Legalize personal freedom? agreed entirely. they're not growing coca because they want to, they're doing it because it's the only one that will allow them to be self sufficient. some call that freedom.

free market? uh, not agreed. but then again, i'm marxist.

  • @jfk256

were not living in a free market society

this is corporatism or fascism in the 1 st world

Marx and Engels were hired guns by the elite who are controlling the world now. Ron Paul is good at explaining what real capitalism is. No offense to you but you should check it out. give it a second look

  • @HaarlemmerHewe I'm not quite sure what you're saying. First, if you're talking about corporate hegemony restricting the many, making it an inherently UNfair market, I'm on board. But that's not what the words "free market" mean. Second, Ron Paul is a libertarian, and therefore the worst person to reference in regards to Marxism. Both have respectable views towards the super-wealthy, but Marx is communitarian and Paul is individualistic. It's like asking Pepsi to teach you about Coke.

  • @jfk256 - I see the "corporate hegemony restricting the many" as a product of government intervention and subsidies. I think Mark and Engles were used as tools for the establishment. I think Ron Paul or a Libertarian is the anti of Marx or a Communists. Maybe you agree and I missed your point.

  • i thought coca was for hot chocolate
