Empire earth has by far the best voice acting and storyline I have seen in any RTS.

empire earths ability to scroll down and view the sunsets and dawns and also view your people and civilisation up close was brilliant and really captured the imagination.

With this one, I end my play thru this soundtrack. I generally like all tracks, but they are really meant to be background tracks in a game, as they are noticeably repetitive.

I liked the game a lot, but looking back at it, it lacked depth and immersion, sadly.

There are things to be learned from Blizzard's Warcraft.

A fair portion of that effect is artificial.

In the game, the music changes in response to the situation and each 'track' effectively contains multiple songs. The recording didn't account for circumstance and those tracks were left out.

Also, the songs are looping ~5 times in the video. Accounting for most of the repetition.

As for Depth\Immersion, I agree, but you can also only do so much with a plot based on history. The gameplay isn't that different though, just more conservative.

I'm not saying it's a bad game, no, it's a good one. I'm saying that it could've been so much better if they didn't lack in elements where more popular games succeed in.

True on the history part, but still, look at the latest Call of Duty game, it's faithfully based on WWII, yet it manages to immerse the player by bringing familiarity into the scene.
