Except for the slight flip at the bottom of the t-shirt at the start, that's the same folding technique the military uses. It's easily stackable, gives nice edges for a quick overview, and makes it easy to locate the right item.

Using one of these seems way more practical than doing it freehand. I may get one of these, and one for long armed t-shirts and sweaters as well.
