Your T/A sounds awesome. I have a 2000 WS6 and I am considering the same setup. It looks like the parts cost $2000 Does that sound right? Did u lose any ground clearance? My car is lowered a little bit and I dont want to go any lower!
The SLP Longtubes are nototirous for scraping over every little speedbump just at stock ride height. I've an '01 WS6 and I'm getting the SLP Loudmouth II exhaust but I'm getttig Pacesetter headers to go with it instead. I've heard that setup will sound even better and has good ground clearance.
I heard they hang low also before i bought them, but I got them for a good deal. However, it all depends on how well you tuck them up in there. Mine have very good clearance actually, and my car is dropped 1.5" in the front and 1" in the back. Hardly scrapes over anything, the only thing that scrapes are very high speedbumps..and even then it's not that bad. Pacesetters are known to rust out, so if you get them, go with the ceramic coating.
@chriscamh3 Yeah I agree on the Ceramic coating on the Pacetters had them on my 95 LT1 Trans Am and The paint melted right off those suckers in minutes. When we backed the car up we saw a puddle of Brownish black and thought uh oh oil. opened the hood and low and behold the paint was dipping off of the headers.
Really sweet but i only drive my car during the weekend so i think ill go ahead and get The Head and cam package thank's for the help preciate it dude
Heyyy buddy, is our car and auto? If so look into getting a stall! With something like an MS3 or T-Rex you may need anywhere from a 3500-5000 stall to really put your car in the powerband.
I have a question for the ppl who know ton's about GM performance i have a 02 WS6 T/A, Anyways what kind of cam should i get . I was looking at the "TREX" cam or the "MS3" cam what's the best cam i could buy thank's
If your car is stock and is it a DD? If it is, then those cams are way too big. I would go for something in the 224/224 - 230/230 range. Anything bigger will be very aggressive and also you will need new heads along with the cam. I want to get a 228 or 230 cam, great daily driver cam, and will get you around 400rwhp with basic bolt ons.
are you happy with the sounds or do you think its to loud. from the video its badass but from inside the car would it be difficult to talk to the person next to you?
Actually the sound results are surprising. From outside the car it is VERY loud. I allowed my girlfriend to drive it around while i followed in her car so i could listen to it from another car and yeah, it's one of the loudest things on the road. BUT, from inside the car, it's actually not loud at all. I had just a flowmaster exhaust on there when i got the car, and that alone was MUCH louder because of all the "drone". I'm really happy with the setup
them headers sure do make a difference. i had flowmasters on my trans am and it was an ok tone. and then i installed my heddman headers and it sounds like a beast. especially in the high rpm range!
a little too loud? NOT LOUD ENOUGH!!!
