The Leaves - Codine (1967)

On my own, the Charlatans' version stay the better one that I've ever heard. That sounds sort of perfect old wild west near psychedelia and it sticks to the lyrics. Then I appreciate all others but the Charlatans voices (Wilhelm, Olsen, Hicks, Hunter from the first line up around 1966) and sound given me real chickenskin.

I really like this version of "Codine," but I like the versions by the Litter and Donovan a lot too (and, of course, Buffy St. Marie).
