Did you notice the strategy of Tom's interrupting Matt to repeatedly tell him that he was asking him a question? I've noticed this pattern of turning inquiries around to take control and project back onto the questioner or interviewer a suggestion of ill intent or ignorance in order to deflect from themselves. It's slick.

Scientology doesn't lure in as many unintelligent people as one might think. The lure of Scientology is the social aspect. Friends lure in friends, lovers lure in lovers, and when one joins, everyone is excited to have you. It's not that there's something wrong with your judgment. It's the seduction of being part of something and fitting in with a community. Having a whole group of people who believe what you believe.
